The tone shift when he said "what do you mean, you don't like it?", when he wanted her to change her hair was absolute perfection. Sofia always makes such incredible films, especially centered around the female perspective. I cannot wait .

Sofia Coppola movies are often focuses on female gaze, loneliness, girlhood, and womanhood which makes her absolutely perfect to tell this story. As a huge fan of her work, i can't wait to see this movie. Sofia rarely miss 🙌

Like alot of biographies, this looks one-dimensional and highly fictionalized. Yeah yeah, Elvis bad, Priscilla perfect. Elvis' womanizing may have been legendary, but so was his generosity, giving away a fortune in his lifetime. His spiritualism (as well as his sinfulness), if recounted in a movie, would be unbelievable. An amazing talent with a photographic memory. A guy who read 10s of thousands of books on philosophy and based his costume on a comic book character. A very complicated individual. His love of karate, football, his hollywood and music industry friendships, his horses, his chimp Scatter, his search for truth, so many untold stories, but instead another story about Priscilla dyeing, her hair for a few years. Its the least of the things people would pay to see detailed in a movie. In comparison to the last movie, this looks like a hallmark channel movie. Its been done before. How about a movie about Elvis and Ann Margaret? As an Elvis fan, Ill take a pass. Also, that guy doesn't look a thing like E.
No matter how much you may like Sofia... this one is a DISASTER. Her worst movie yet. Its just BAD (and no - not bad ass). You will NOT KNOW ONE TRUE THING about Priscilla or Elvis after leaving the theater. I promise you.

I read that Lisa Marie slammed the script as vengeful and contemptuous, and that in the movie he only comes across as a manipulative predator. “I am worried that my mother isn’t seeing the nuance here or realising the way in which Elvis will be perceived when this movie comes out,” Lisa Marie stated in her emails. “I feel protective over my mother who has spent her whole life elevating my father’s legacy. I am worried she doesn’t understand the intentions behind this film or the outcome it will have.” She added.
I find it odd that a person would make a movie about someone's personal love life without that person even having been there to witness it, let alone have the daughter completely disapprove. "I had to explain that we are going to have to endure another hit in our lives. That there is going to be a movie about her grandfather that is going to try to make him look really, really bad, but it’s not true. I had to explain that her beloved grandmother is supporting it. These two little girls have been through so much in the past 7 years, enduring my divorce and horrific custody battle and then losing their brother. We’ve all been drowning,” Lisa Marie Presley wrote.
Opposing to the film "Priscilla" she praised the 2022 film “Elvis,” which was directed by Baz Luhrmann, as “a break from suffering and a ray of light that hit us last year … it made them so proud and honoured to be his granddaughters. It made them feel blessed for a moment and less cursed in life. It made us all so proud because it was a true depiction of who he really was.”
Lisa Marie appealed to Coppola's own Hollywood legacy, disappointed. “I would think of all people that you would understand how this would feel.” She said.
Coppola should know that making this movie will have an impact on Lisa Marie and her family. Her entire family were likely still mourning Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide for this exact reason. Pressure from society. This movie is surely not going to make things much better for the family.
Presley couldn't understand Coppola's "need to attempt to take my father down on the heels of such an incredible film using the excuse that you are trying to tell my mother’s story, but from your very dark and jaded reality.”
Priscilla should be in prison. She stole millions from her daughters trust right from under her without her knowledge or consent. Nepo baby Sophia should be banned from Hollywood forever after this attack on Elvis with a story that has no authenticity, no evidence and no eyewitnesses.
The actor playing Elvis doesn’t even sound like him. Ugg. Austin did such a better job. Graceland doesn’t look like Graceland. And EPE doesn’t endorse Priscilla movie and refused to allow Elvis music to be played during the movie. That’s telling.
For anyone curious, I believe this film is based on Priscilla's own memoir, and she approves of this movie. I'm sure at least a few people are wondering if this sort of biopic is still ethical, but this one at least is.

When Elvis was back in the States, Priscilla had several boyfriends and slept with them. Priscilla was very flirtatious. It is rumored that she was sexually abused by her violent alcoholic stepfather Paul Beaulieu. Priscilla let Elvis believe that she was an innocent virgin but in reality, she was a liar and a manipulator, who was addicted to attention because she always was her mother's little princess.
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 2. Priscilla's parents encouraged her relationship with Elvis because they were starstruck and wanted status and money. When Elvis was back in the States they discouraged Priscilla from dating with boys in Germany. Her mother, Ann Iversen, pushed Priscilla to write love letters to Elvis, who occasionally called Priscilla and was back with girlfriend Anita Wood. It was Priscilla, ordered by Ann, who begged Elvis to invite her to the US and it was her parents who forced Priscilla to move to Graceland although she wanted to stay in Germany with her then-boyfriend.
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 3. She was not in love with Elvis Presley, but with her boyfriend Jamie. While at Graceland, Priscilla's only goal was to get married to Elvis and then divorce him and take him out like a goose for her own financial benefit and that of her parents. It was no coincidence that Priscilla was sent to the US. months before her 18th birthday, months before her graduation from high school and months before the Beaulieu-family returned to the States. By sending their daughter away to live with Elvis before her 18th birthday the Beaulieus had the means to blackmail Elvis.

Saw the movie, it was so so so deeply meaningful to see this story being told with such a spotlight as someone who lived a similar experience at 14. We constantly hear stories and see headlines of these rock stars/adult men in music pursuing young teenage girls, and their stories are never told, their names never heard, their feelings never talked about. Thank you for making this.

Did you watch the trailer? Its 1,000% a glamorization. Some sad parts will happen end of Act 2. Biopics are boring af. Are we try to introduce Percilla to a new gen? I don't get the point of this movie.
Priscilla has had a very glamorous life. She's an actress, after all. I'm not suggesting that she's never suffered pain and loss, she definitely has. But she's fully ensconced in the Hollywood world. She's often come across as selfish and greedy, especially in the case of her daughter's estate. She took the estate and her granddaughter to court. For the last 40+ years, she's overseen the Elvis Presley estate and was the driving force behind saving it from bankruptcy in the beginning. For that, I'm grateful. But her greed is showing and the fact that the Estate didn't approve of this movie says a lot! They wouldn't allow Copola to use Elvis's music at all. This film is said to be very dark. Highlighting Elvis's temper could be its downfall, and Priscilla's last act, so-to-speak. We'll see.

This looks SO GOOD. The narrative decision to centre this on Priscilla's POV (I think it's based on her autobiography?) is a stroke of genius. I've never been much of an Elvis fan, but I'm finding myself genuinely excited to watch this one. I think in Coppola's hands the humanity of the characters (based on real people) will be far more nuanced & won't shy away from the darkness in the story. & these actors are absolutely nailing it from what I've seen.
Another pointless movie about another pointless person. Why does society need a movie about Elvis ex wife. She is no one special. If you are excited for this movie, then your entertainment standards are very low.

Priscilla is an incredible sophisticated film expertly directed by the very talented Sofia Coppola. The cinematography is amazing and the viewer is provided with so many beautiful scenes. The film is an intimate look into the relationship between the worlds most iconic singer Elvis and his wife Priscilla. It's like the viewer is in between each sentence that is uttered from the couple. You really feel like your right there experiencing exactly how the relationship was going. Jacob Elordi who plays Elvis does very well in showing both his flaws and his nice qualities. Cailee Spaeny who plays Priscilla is exceptional. She has an incredible presence and throughout the film has many moments where her beautiful face expresses clearly what she feels with no dialogue at all. UNMISSABLE.
This film was a pending train-wreck, an inaccurate, poorly lit, slow, repetitive, mumbling mess. RATING 0/10. Never mind that the Elvis actor was way too tall and too scrawny and sounded nothing like him. He mumbles into the mic for 90% of the movie and when he doesnt, he shows off his terrible Elvis voice. The actress was way too short. She over acts and gets wasted in a script that jumps round like a drunk frog. The entire timeline in this movie is drunk. All over the place and repetitive. Lousy production.
BUT HOW ABOUT THE ACCURACY?: First of all the premise is fraudulent. Elvis did not date Priscilla in Germany. There is no evidence of that. All photos, videos and eyewitnesses point to Elvis having several conversations with Priscilla, as he did with many many others on the devastating shock loss of his mother. There is zero evidence of Elvis' interest in her at 14, none the less touching or kissing. All evidence points to none of this happening.
Priscilla changed her story over the years so many times.
So the film is grossly artificial. It is far more likely that Elvis never did or said or felt anything for her until they publicly started dating when she was 18.
There were so many photographers around him that SOMEONE would have saw SOMETHING. Elvis was Michael Jackson x 10,000. Because Elvis was FIRST. They took tens of thousands of photos & videos of Elvis taken. NOT ONE... of Elvis touching, kissing or saying ANYTHING inappropriate.

This was hardly subtle or sensitive, unless you already hate Elvis. Now I understand why his haters were salivating over its release. And let's not forget that her tell all book has already popped up as a film. Just like Lisa Marie, I'm left wondering why and questioning both the timing and the intent. Some walked out.
