Pitino leaving was a completely different situation. Coach P hadn’t went dry for years before he left. Not to mention he thought he was bettering himself by going to the NBA. He just didn’t know he wasnt going to succeed there. He’s the first to admit that leaving KY was the biggest regret of his coaching career.

This is a one time event, the first time, at least. Gameday took the boring way out of the same old, same old. Yes, UNC/Duke is a great rivalry, unequivocally one of the best in the sport, but this is different. They had storylines upon storylines and turned them down.
There is nothing interesting about yet another standard Duke/Unc game that happens every year, multiple times a year, there is no emotions, no other storylines, and UNC isn't good either. A 1 time event at Kentucky is a much bigger deal.
