Great tip! It really helps me out since my mirror is starting to show signs of age on the edges. Thank you. So I went to buy he materials and it cost me more then $50 just for the wood and the glue. That does not include the paint. Also please beware that unless you are gluing completely on the mirror LIQUID NAILS will not work for you. My came off because half of the frame was outside the mirror because it looked better. At the end I ended up building the missing part out of wood. It was a mess but I got it done. If you read in the LIQUID NAILS instructions it says not recommend for glass. I ended up using crazy glue as well. Good luck!
I really like your idea! Thanks for sharing. Would please tell us if you had to do any touch ups? I am just afraid the glue would fail due to moisture and humidity in the bathroom. Thanks again!
Thanks for posting this!! Great idea and great explanation! Good idea for the corner medallions, as that eliminates need for 45 degree angle cuts!! Looks great!!! 😊👍
I did this and was sooooo pleased!!!!!!! I found that The Best Liquid Nails to use was the "Liquid Nails - Fuze It". The regular Liquid Nails did not work. Im so happy with how it turned out!
I watched your video last night. Best one ever. I have now framed my mirror with almost same crown molding and very same medallions. I wanted my white so no painting. Used liquid nails. Thank you.
Even if you want your frame white, you will still need to paint it. The white that is on it when you buy it is only a primer. In a bathroom where there will be moisture, you need to use a satin or semi-gloss paint.
Nice Presentation! I am pretty sure crown molding is always the angled type that goes around ceiling; hence the name "crown". Other than that, awesome job! Thanks for pointing out need to paint reverse side of frame. Great point that could easily cause a disappointing result if overlooked. Keep on sharing!
This was so helpful! I have been searching for ideas on exactly what type materials to use around the frame & now I know what to do. Thanks great video!!!
I've seen other videos on this, but none answered the burning question of what you do with the brackets that hold the mirror to the wall - how did you deal with that? Or is your mirror hung some other way? Please answer, this makes the difference for many people as to whether they can use your method.
mom2moonndweez: 1) You can measure and notch out a couple of places on the back of the wood to accommodate the clips. or ... 2) you can remove the clips and stick the mirror to the wall with mastic. When we use method #2 we drop the bottom section down a bit to allow for a few nails in the bottom piece of the mirror frame (to be sure the mirror stays in place). Fill any nail holes with spackle, let dry and repaint that section.
Love your presentation! Our molding around the door is like your mirror frame, so adding the same design to the mirror is a great idea. Easy and inexpensive. Thank you! Chris's wife :)
Do u think it will look good painting vanity bathroom the same color as the mirror frame like yours? My wall colors will be Dark storm cloud and the towel rack will be matte black and also shelves with matte balack pipes will be avobe toilet. Curtain rod is the same color too. My floors are life proof LVP light gray color with shades of white. Don't know what cor should I do my vanity bathroom top?
hello, not sure if you're still checking comments, but....Does your outer edge of the wood extend slightly past the edge of the mirror? Is it very noticeable that the wood is not touching the wall?
Thank you for your comment. I don’t exactly recall but I believe we placed it even with the mirror. You definitely could go further off of the mirror or if you have the tools to cut a groove, similar to a picture frame, that would work well too.
This turned out so nice! I love the little square things...(I don't know what they are either) but those really add a lot to your creation. Thanks for sharing this idea. I'm on my way to the hardware store. :)
it looks great! I wonder how will the mirror look if I decide to remove the frame once I move out of my apartment? will the liquid nail ruin the mirror?
If you are in an apartment I wouldn't worry about removing it when you leave. If you do a good job.. the bathroom will have a nice custom look, rather than the generic look of most apartments :-)
Ginny: 1) You can measure and notch out a couple of places on the back of the wood to accommodate the clips. or ... 2) you can remove the clips and stick the mirror to the wall with mastic. I have been so nervous to do anything in our house. We have been here for 3 years and I have only painted a bit. I have big visions and this will be my first step in my guest bathroom. Not sure how to tackle the master as the double vanity is at an angle and the two mirrors line up in the corner there... not sure how to make sure the frame doesn't get in the way of each other but I will figure it out! lol. Thank you for this video! I am ready. Off to Home Depot!
Very nice looking Christen, so I wanted to copy it but I purchased the wood (no white or any color) version, including the medallions. I believe I made a mistake. But why did U choose the white version of the moulding oven the plain version? Am I going to have to "treat" the plain wood with something? before using the rust oleum? Guess I am spending 50 for wood frame (before painting) because my mirror is larger (60 inches by 36")
The white moulding is already primed, so all you have to do is paint it whatever color you want it. NOTE: Even if you choose to have a white mirror frame.. you will have to paint the moulding. The white color that is on it is only a primer.
Looks great. And the video was easy to understand. Just wish it didn't have the background music. It kept distracting me while I was trying to listen to your instructions.
Our mirror had been previously glued to the wall. But, if you have mirror clips you can cut away small notches on the backside of your boards to accommodate the clips.
Hey, thanks for the idea for the mirror frame, the mirror u used in the video was almost identical to ours which helped alot visually, the project turned out great
You can just. Measure and Gorge/Carve out on the Back of The Molding Where The Clips Are That holding The Mirror up Try To Find A Strong Glue That Is Made To Adhere To Glass. Ask For Help In The Store To Find It. If You Are Just A Renter. Use Double Sided Glue To Adhere The Mirror. And As Others Have Commented Use Painters Tape To hold The Molding Up Until It Dries. And Don't Forget What She Said About Making Sure To Paint Or Spray Paint BOTH Sides Of The Molding Beforehand.

Absolutely gorgeous! Finally a DIY without using thousands of dollars worth of tools that folks usually don't have readily available. 😍

Excellent tutorial!!! Short and directly to the point. Great inexpensive way to quickly update your bathroom. Thank you Christen!!

Love this idea. Heading to Home Depot now. I didn’t know they would cut wood to length. Thanks again!
Beautiful mirror from an absolutely beautiful lady. Nice work!
I did this and was sooooo pleased!!!!!!! I found that The Best Liquid Nails to use was the "Liquid Nails - Fuze It". The regular Liquid Nails did not work. Im so happy with how it turned out!
But what about the metal clips that are holding the mirror? (So I ended up carving a little space in the back where the clips are.)
I watched your video last night. Best one ever. I have now framed my mirror with almost same crown molding and very same medallions. I wanted my white so no painting. Used liquid nails. Thank you.

Awe you took all my stress away! Thank you!
Great idea for prepping our home to be sold. Thanks!
What did you do about the mirror clips? Did you have to chisel out on the back of the molding?
Great tip about using baseboard or chair rail rather than crown.
thanks for sharing! I was thinking to replace my mirrors in 3 bathrooms but I'm going to do this instead.
This is so awesome! Thank you so much for sharing. God Bless!

Thank you. Just did mine with your help and it looks great
You can add painter tape to hold it down. Until the glue dries.
Cut costs by purchasing molding & paint at Habitat for humanity cost me less than $10.00 for 40" x 34" framing supplies.
Great tip
This was so helpful! I have been searching for ideas on exactly what type materials to use around the frame & now I know what to do. Thanks great video!!!
Love this idea! Wonder if it would work on a cheap full length mirror?
I love this! It is exactly what I want in my bathroom. You mentioned you painted your Fossetts, how did that turn out? I would love to see it.

Do you have a video of how you did the measurements, an did u place the medillons on first then measure the mirror for crown molding .
I was wondering this too. You could subtract the size at the store or cut a bit off later at home
It came out beautiful. Thank you for sharing 😉
Thank you for sharing. Can't wait to try this on a mirror at our Florida house.
How has the glue held up over time with the moisture?
Thanks for the tips!
Great ideal and what a great look.
Very helpful, thank you. And love your lipstick

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! very helpful

How did you go over the clips on the mirror?
I love it! Thank you for sharing.😀
Great idea! Thank you!
Beautiful job. It looks high end. Thinking this will be a fun project.👍🏻
Awesome.. I am trying this weekend 👀
I’ve been wanting to do this but I wanted to know if the moulding will adhere to the glass when put over the clamps that hold the mirror to the wall?
Same here
I adhered mine go the mirror and used painters tape to
Hold it until it cured.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Job well done. You make it look so easy. Thanks a lot !
This was AWESOME! And you do a really wonderful job on your presentation. Beautiful! (and the mirror is pretty too!)
Looks great. Good job, might try this.
What do you do if you have clips holding your mirror in place?
Looks Great ! You made this look so easy ! I will be doing both my mirrors in my home. Great Job!!
Thank you for this video! You just saved me a lot of money and made this transformation look so easy. I wish you all the best!
Great tips bu How did you get around the clips ?

Gorgeous job, thank you for sharing.
This was really helpful thank you!
Thank you!
LOVE this idea! Thank you!
This turned out so nice! I love the little square things...(I don't know what they are either) but those really add a lot to your creation. Thanks for sharing this idea. I'm on my way to the hardware store. :)
The little squares are called Block Moulding.
Thanks so much!
Great video !!!
Thank you. I'm putting several mirrors together to make one. Really helpful 🌹
LOVE this idea! Thank you so much for the video 😊👍🏽
Love it
This was really helpful! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you 😊
Beautiful and simple! Thanks!
Thanks for very important detailed information and it's absolutely beautiful.
after putting the nail glue on, do u place the molding completely on the mirror or the half way and the other half sticking out?
I have done these in my rentals. We usually extend just slightly past the mirror so you don't see the shiny edge of the mirror right next to the wood.
it looks great!
I plan on trying this but as a renter I think I'm going to try double sided tape. Fingers crossed that it won't show
I like your idea because that way, changes can be made in the future. Did it work?
Wonder if its easily removed when using the the glue?
Ginny: 1) You can measure and notch out a couple of places on the back of the wood to accommodate the clips.
or ... 2) you can remove the clips and stick the mirror to the wall with mastic. When we use method #2 we drop the bottom section down a bit to allow for a few nails in the bottom piece of the mirror frame (to be sure the mirror stays in place). Fill any nail holes with spackle, let dry and repaint that section.
Moisture will make the tape come off
@@phrozengeb2009 command strips would hold up... but ya... double sided tape wouldn't last long I'm sure.

Paige Queen B how did it come out?
97myluv amazing. Doing our master bath soon.
Dont be nervous!!! Just start remodeling!! Ask for help if needed or TH-cam lol.
Very nice looking Christen, so I wanted to copy it but I purchased the wood (no white or any color) version, including the medallions. I believe I made a mistake. ***** Thanks Christen. So I will use primer on the plain wood before I paint it.
The white moulding is already primed, so all you have to do is paint it whatever color you want it. NOTE: Even if you choose to have a white mirror frame.. you will have to paint the moulding. The white color that is on it is only a primer.
Amazing! Thank you 😊 🙏
Awesome!! Going to totally copy you ,❤️
Looks great. And the video was easy to understand. Just wish it didn't have the background music. It kept distracting me while I was trying to listen to your instructions.
Nice job young lady. Looks great. Love your personality as well.
Awesome.... thanks a million for this post!!!
Good tip. Thanks
Thank you so helpful
Love the idea! How did you hang up the mirror itself?
Looks easy enough, thank you very much for sharing
need to show the whole process of putting the frame on the wall. Great presentation but why cut corners ...
Did your mirror have clips ? How do put the mounding with clips ?
Our mirror had been previously glued to the wall. But, if you have mirror clips you can cut away small notches on the backside of your boards to accommodate the clips.
Thank you excellent presentation
Hey, thanks for the idea for the mirror frame, the mirror u used in the video was almost identical to ours which helped alot visually, the project turned out great
Thank you for sharing..I will definitely do this project for my home
Love it! Thank you!!
Hay girl, that's crown molding. It is near crown molding in Home Depot. Looks good.
Really cool. Thank you. I just found my next project.
Is liquid nail adhesive renter friendly?
How did you hang a flat plain mirror without clips? Is your mirror glued to the wall?
She had clips.
Her mirror and both clips and was glued to the wall. She removed the clips when she added the molding.
How did you cover the hooks that hold the mirror up, please ?
I need to know that, too.
Wondering the same thing!
She didn't. Here mirror was already glued to the wall
Do you apply the strip of molding over the clips of the mirror to the wall?
You can just. Measure and Gorge/Carve out on the Back of The Molding Where The Clips Are That holding The Mirror up
Try To Find A Strong Glue That Is
Made To Adhere To Glass.
Ask For Help In The Store To Find It.
If You Are Just A Renter. Use Double Sided Glue To Adhere The Mirror.
And As Others Have Commented
Use Painters Tape To hold The Molding Up Until It Dries.
And Don't Forget What She Said
About Making Sure To Paint Or Spray Paint BOTH Sides Of The Molding Beforehand.
So cool and you're awesome thanks!
I totally love this!
Nice!!
Perfect! My Thanks
wouldnt the mirror show from the sides if its completely on it?
Faheem Abbas Prob so. You can add a thinner piece of wood to the end side or cut a notch out along side of the wood so it fits flush.
Thank you for such a great idea.
What did you do about the plastic parts that hold up the mirror? How did you make sure the frame would be flush?
Amy: 1) You can measure and notch out a couple of places on the back of the wood to accommodate the plastic clips.
Looks great
Really straight forward, thanks for sharing!
Beautiful
