    Thank you for posting. I'm updating an old house. We still have the same mirror which is over 55 years old. I'm also having problems with oxidation of the silver which is producing that dark cloudiness. This is the perfect solution. I'm not ready to invest $200 to $300 for a mirror at the moment.

    Happy to not see another framing of a mirror. This is a unique and beautiful look. 💕

    The dark spots is a type of oxidation from amonia cleaner. when cleaning the mirror just dont let cleaner drip to the bottom otherwise use another type of cleaner. Watch out for brands that are amominia based.

    They have beautiful little tiles at the dollar store...You get a whole sheet for $1.00...Also the best ever adhesive is E6000, from( of course) the dollar store. ... $70 seems awfully high...

      Yes E6000 is always my go to i usually use a dab of hot glue in the center and e6000 on the edges the hot glue holds it in place till it dries

    What an elegant touch! I'm going to Home Depot to see what tile options they have in my community. Thank you for sharing this. I am wondering what you did when you came to the clips that hold the mirror in place?

      Actually I've seen your response to that. And now I'm wondering which Dremel tool attachment you used to grind some off the back.

      Check and see at your local habitat for humanity or via fb marketplace. I found enough for my feature wall/bathroom mirror for 1/3 the cost for a current subway tile style.

      Use a dremel tool or something similar to knock off a little of the material on the back of the tile for the clip.

    Hi! Thanks for the tutorial! Is this renter friendly?! Will the adhesive damage the mirror when it needs to be removed?!

    • @deidre-restlessmind4305
      @deidre-restlessmind4305  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      DearVoguey I really don't know. My husband said the caulk adhesive will soften with a heat gun, but I'd look for some videos to make sure!

    On the sides, how did you get them to stay in place until the tiles glue dried?

    • @deidre-restlessmind4305
      @deidre-restlessmind4305  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sides were easy since the bottom row dried first, then you are stacking on the sides. The top is what is tricky.
