I just want you to know that as nonsensical as this may sound, you saved my life today by posting this.
I’ve been in an abusive relationship for 4 years, 8 months and 24 days- or in other words, 1727 days.. and it damn near killed me. I unfortunately mean that more literally than I wish I did. I stayed up all night last night crying and writing letters to everyone who’s ever meant anything to me. I’ve been existing in a non feeling haze/consistently excruciating choreography that I no longer wanted to dance, I have felt too tired for too long and I stopped making sense after a while in my desperation to feel anything but this reality I’ve grown used to.
This song automatically played just now, and for the first time in 28 months I cried. Those tears reminded me im human and I deserve to make life my own again- now instead of saying goodbye to everyone, I realized I have the strength to say goodbye to the only person who made me feel this way.
I can’t explain it very well, my thoughts are muddled- but you saved my life today. Please know that what you do matters and your songs are enchanting.
