Hi Richard. Love the beginning of the video. Like I think I told you, it reminds me of camping in Africa. One where 3 of us went fishing at a lake in the bush. Three guys. one 2 man boat. plenty beer and fun. The big difference between you camp and ours, we would not have sleep in a small tent like you have. Some of the beasties there may have thought we were packed lunch. Thank you for the memories. 🤣👍

I've painted for a long time, but only in late teens I started to read biographies about impressionists. And to see someone living in same spirit more than 150 years after (of course with less drama) is really extraordinary.
Loved every aspect of this film...music, sound captured, setting up camp, dinner, boat ride and of course your painting. Your variety of marks really capture movement. Early in the film, that dash of light blue reflection, and the ultramarine blue shade on the left of the tent really sang out and captured my gaze. Once again, the time spent with you was thoroughly enjoyed and climaxed by viewing a spectacular painting. All the best to you Richard. Thanks.

You must have so many tales that would be fantastic in a book of your adventures and love for the land. You present beautiful images on and off camera, on your canvasses and off. Wow! It is also a pleasure to see your incredible character darting about and being so positive and keen for everything and also so damn capable doing so. It takes incredible drive to do stuff on your own and keep going. I just love your films and as a painter im addicted to watching you paint. Your cooking loks swell too. But you are cutting your veg with a carving knife. Get yourself a chef’s knife, keep it honed and sharpened. Less struggle!

Please explain the Australian weather. I see this video in summer here near the Canadian border. I can probably look it up....but what is your hot season, and what is colder season? I think this is a new oil painting upload lesson, but its 90 F here in June - which is very warm compared to normal.

Yes mate, I was after a general heat through the cast iron from the side, so it could cook slowly, rather than to much from underneath and burn! Cheers!!!

Please explain the Australian weather. I see this video in summer here near the Canadian border. I can probably look it up....but what is your hot season, and what is colder season? I think this is a new oil painting upload lesson, but its 90 F here in June - which is very warm compared to normal.

Yes mate, I was after a general heat through the cast iron from the side, so it could cook slowly, rather than to much from underneath and burn! Cheers!!!
