Masterpiece. I cried at the beauty of the detail in the close up, which was not obvious as you were creating it. And I felt a completely new pride, for our country, a gift. Treasure . Unique. Thank you Sir.

Gidday Richard, back at Sydney Harbour and so much to work with. Love how you developed detail without sacrificing spontaneity and time. Confidence seems to be your mantra and the palette knife sings in your hand. Another beautiful rendition of tone and light my friend. Cheers, Rich
Love love love! Here I am stuck in Canberra suffering terrible hay fever, yet your painting has activated my memory and as a result, even for just a moment I could smell the sweet sea air. Thank you so much . God bless you
Thanks for sharing wiyh us the way you produce paintings. Great techniques and advices! I've been watching over and over again this video, it gives you illusion of very detailed landscape. Best regards!
Returning from the desert river, you paint the sea as good, beautiful works, beautiful large-scale paintings, and use a tool as big as a cooking shovel.
I watched the whole video! Richard, I just was completely mesmerized watching you paint! No one can use a palette knife like you. I think the painting turned out fantastic! I have a relative that lived in Australia for awhile and I am definitely going to send them this video to watch. I may try to do my own rendition of Sydney Harbor for them, using yours as an inspirational guide, if you don’t object. Again, it is just magnificent!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💕💕💕👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Greetings from Ukraine! I have been following you for almost a year. Everything is great, especially the fact that you immediately guess the color scheme of the background and foreground of the picture, the color ratio, especially in shadow and half-shadow places. I especially like looking for color on the shore of the ocean or a small lake.

@@omnesilere Do you know him? From what I have learnt he was a fast painter, with great gusto. When you have well to do people lining up to be painted by him (no cameras back then) he had to learn to be fast. His watercolours after his period of unenjoyable portrait painting is a great testimony to his ability to paint fast and to catch the light of the moment.
Thanks again Richard… There is so much in this painting, and I’m learning the importance of the tones and the values of the colours. Beautiful painting, beautiful scenery. I have family in Sydney so hopefully I'll get to visit when this madness ends. I could stand looking at that harbour from dusk til dawn. So jealous, nothing but shite here in in Ireland.

Using magenta and alizarin crimson? I would think to use one or the other, could you please explain what you like about using both? Amazing painting, love the video and love to paint along.
