- An approach to overlanding on a shoestring budget, using my "daily driver" SUV. What is overlanding anyway, and why might an over-the-hill retired guy (or you) want to do it? Do I have to spend a lot of money to do it? (No) Did I do it as cheaply as possible? (Unfortunately not) Could you do better? (Yes)

I’m thoroughly impressed.
Good video! I'm loving my xterra!
These are awsome ideas! Subscribed.
You certainly don’t look 80. Keep living the good life.
I lived in my X-terra for a summer when I had that 12v Coleman cooler. It really was better then a fridge back then. I miss it. Beware "the pink milkshake of death. " the transmission intercooler and coolent radiator share the same, well radiator. The membrane is known to fail and in my case the radiator fluid flooded the transmission . There are cheep preventative options . Good luck. I miss mine.
Yeah, I bypassed the radiator transmission cooler on mine and then eventually replaced the radiator.
Nice set up if it were me i would tie the shovel to the rack up top keep it away form my head in case of being in a fender bender
Good point, it would make a nasty missile. However, the clamps are pretty resilient - I think they would hold in anything short of a major collision.
