Camping with the TrailPod Camping Trailer | Will it camp?

- TrailPod is a lightweight adventure trailer, aimed at smaller vehicles and people who like to travel light. I took the TrailPod Cricket on a camping mission to test how practical this setup can be. I won't lie, it didn't take long until I fell in love with it.
Small, lightweight yet spacious. Towing was a breeze and when I got to the campsite and parked the trailer, I was set. The only unpacking I had to do was my camping chairs. The weather turned a bit rough that night, with strong winds, cold temperatures and then some rain, but I was warm and cosy inside the TrailPod. I slept very comfortably that night!
Not only is the Trailpod comfortable to sleep it, but it is also very practical. It has inside and outside lights, a built-in kitchen, storage cubbies, a battery system, stone guards and even an awning. All the things that matter for a camper to camp comfortably.
Construction materials:
This Pod has a rigid galvanised steel chassis. The cabin is constructed using a lightweight foam core thermoplastic with a hard-wearing wood laminate for the interior look and feel (there is no wood or fibreglass in the pod’s structure). Cupboard doors and faces are done in the best quality Baltic Burch wood. The exterior sides are finished in a super tough polyurethane coating (in the colour of your choice that will not fade) and clad in Aluminium sheeting from the front over the top to the back. For extra protection, the aluminium is covered in a scratch and stone chip-resistant clear plastic film. The Pod is available in two body widths, Narrow or Wide to suit your vehicle track width.

I love this concept and the price is not too bad, but question would be how it tows on a trail. big test would be Van Zyl's Pass or some places in Richersveld.
Good question. We do want to take it on a bit more treacherous route next time. I do think the light weight will have an negative effect on the more rough terrain as it'll be a bit bouncy. Also due to it being a single axle trailer. However, if you deflate the tires a good amount and take it easy, it should handle it well.
I am seriously considering this trailer due to being so small and light which makes this an ideal accessory for Jimny camping. I suspect that this is something I will have to see in person since it could be that has a tiny profile compared to other teardrop trailers and light caravans which is a plus. Am I correct that the cover in the rear does not seem to open and contain a kitchen as with many other teardrops?
Correct, this version, the Cricket, doesn't have the built in kitchen. However, due to demand, the are building a version which does have a built in kitchen in the rear.

It has space to transport your fridge, but not to store it inside while you're inside. Perhaps their large version has such an option.
