Never had the steel eagle, just not wanting a saw. But the handle on my Rhino, Operator Seven, and wild Pig Hunter with rocky traction are fantastic. My only modifications have been sheath related, Kydex preference with drop loop only came out of the bag with my Operator Seven, but I now have it on all my large knives. Frankly, ask any, soldies do not use knives for hand to hand combat, but depending on your MOS cutting det cord, opening MREs, cutting tarps, paracord, nylon webbing... never met a soldier whom stuck anything living other than what is for dinner. Frankly, if you plan on preocessing wood and have the option, bring a hatchet. TOPS makes these also. TOPS knives are for heavy users. You want steel you can sharpen on a rock, 1095 is perfect also.

My favorite knife company! Amazing quality and built like a tank! I have several of their models and by far, my favorite is the Apache Falcon, followed by the C.U.T. 4.0. Great video!

I have bought over 40 TOPS knives. Absolutely love every one of them.
I edc the Prather War Bowie. My favorite is the Armageddon. But it wasn’t always my fave. The finger choil in the middle of the handle was way too pointy and made it a challenge for my extra large hands to get comfortable holding it. I met Leo and Craig at the NRA Convention in 2015 and explained my situation. Leo took the knife and returned it to me four days later with the choil smoothed down. It was amazing how good it feels now.
Craig and Leo are two of the most outstanding humans you will ever meet. My wife and I met Mike Fuller at the BLADE Show that year and I must say, Mike was the most incredibly decent person I’ve ever met.
The TOPS Knife Company exemplifies his truly unique understanding of what a buisness (or a person) should be.
My life has been made better just by knowing Mike Fuller, Craig, and Leo.

I have met both Leo and Craig. They are definitely exceptional...and all of their crew for that matter. They also have wonderful outside designers who are all awesome to talk with. I agree about the Armageddon and I have always wanted to smooth that choil out as well.

Wow, this video just came up in my feed.
Yeah, the Armageddon is still my absolute favorite knife of any brand. It’s easy to wield, and it’s so sharp, it can cut you just by looking at it! 😉
I’m curious. Have you smoothed down your finger choil yet? If so, how do you like it now?

As for the block handles on a military knife, I think it goes back to the bayonet. It was not only for stabbing but also for twisting and maneuvering inside a victim. You can't do that with a round, bushcraft handle. Also, a block handle just feels more powerful and solid. I love my steel eagle. It is my go-to knife for chopping and heavy work. I always carry it in or on my pack when I go hiking and camping.

I have 9 TOPS Knives. From the "Little Bugger" neck knife to the "Steel Eagle" massive knife, and a lot in between. The only downside I have is they don't have a warranty like, say, Esee. Other than that I love my TOPS Knives and will continue to buy them. On a side note, I do own a lot of other brands but TOPS is at the top of my list. I even carried a Camillas survival knife for 3 tours in Vietnam.

Thoughts: handles by different designers. Its all a personal and hand size issue. Not a big fan of a knife dictating hand placement. Example: the delta unit 3 looks awesome; but just felt funky in the hand. B.o.b/blue otter/kuma kage/operator 7/apache dawn? Like a dream. Thought the delta unit 3 would be great. But that design handle wise just doesnt fit right. Maybe its like a pair of shoes? I recommend to try, if possible, before the buy. People have diff sized feet and hands.

Square rounded is fine BUT no excuse palm swell matters. I bought a Brakimo I LOVE IT ...BUT that grip needs just a hair more swell not hard to add . Its made for survival bushcraft so why not more swell in that palm ...QUIT IGNORING CUSTOMERS TOPS.
I love my knife its great but freaking give us an options, I'd buy a set of thicker scales if ya offered them at a fair price.
Want more sales ? Its healthy to listen to us cause our wallets will speak.

I have one its a nice knife just rather high priced for 1095. I get a higher price if your getting a thick leather sheath but for kydex. That's just my opinion. The knife i have is ok but its nothing special.

@@outerlimitless msk the mini its a very nice handle ,really comfortable. But it wasn't a scandi I made it a convex an it just wasn't what I thought. Now don't get me wrong tops makes beautiful stuff but in my opinion I stress my opinion they are rather high. But I carry coldsteel g10 Espada large everyday got it in xhp for under a hundred. An I also have a srk $40 now these are made in Taiwan so I know its unfair but my camping knife is a ontario kukri that is incredible for$50 an my other favorite chopper which is another Taiwan is a kabar cutless if you have not used one I would highly recommend it is on of the best all around camp knives ever. Just to fill you in I like you guys together friends are always better then one guy talking at you. I'm ex military 11B1P an was even a boy scout so I've been in the wood an I love knives. Take care
