My only complaint is I'm not rich enough to have one of these. So glad these liquid spring & dually to single rear wheel along with the front track correction kits from EOG in the states have made it to Australia. If i ever run into this guy on the road. I'll probably reck his paint job, I'll be drooling so much, ( providing I have a step ladder 😂 ).
this truck should go on a wet muddy full of mud bogs with the guys from 4WD-24/7. that would be one hell of a trip adventure and one hell of an episode.
The F-450s and 550s come with the Dana Super 60 front axle which has a high pinion differential. That allows for the tight turning radius of the truck.
The 350s and 250s came with the Dana 60 (M256) up until part way through 2023. They did not get the wide track version which is what sets the F450+ apart.
Thank you guys for the beautiful build... And everyone reading this, these builds don't have to be $200k-$300k plus cost-to-build Buy used, Stateside we have a surplus of these (big girls) For $10k-$20k Maybe used/ abused, and some miles, but it can get you into the build process... Or a good story around the campfire LATER... Cheers Love from Virginia
Spending this much on a rig to tow a 4-5t boat seems pointless. If you can afford the 500k+ for the rig you might as well just buy a place on the water and not have to tow your boat around🤷🏽♂️
If someone has the money to spend 500k on a rig to tow a boat I’m sure they have a house on the water already. As he said it’s going to be set up for touring
My base model '24 F-250 gas, 4x4 locking rear diff, 4 door was $48k USD, I feel bad these cost you guys so much. Mine is a base model, but still a nice truck. Wish I could get a 70 series here.
Does more money err um equal more performance and value for $$ or is it bigger the chassis bigger the tyres? My $55k everest with 33” all day and we will both arrive safely
I've seen a family do it with a HR and trailer. The truck half was a complete fold out camper (including the pet bird). The trailer had a vitara, tinny, and full workshop in it. Some sort of engineer/fabrication. They were travelling full time.
While this looks fantastic, it's no good driving around town, pretty much useless offroad, won't fit down any tracks unless you want 500 pinstripes from the scrub, needs 20m to make a turn, accessing stuff in the canopy would be a pain, need a 2 stage ladder to get to the RTT, put 40+" tires on then hang the exhaust down too low, looks good but just impractical.
@@theexplorelife Cool, can't wait to see the big girl get stuck and break the winch trying to get the elephant out😂, Keep Nav away from it or you you may never see it again 😂, Don't get me wrong it looks beautiful, but I would take your Ram over this in a heartbeat.
As an american I agree 100% I almost never see these f250+ diesels offroad on trails unless they are towing buggies, they are too big and heavy, I think if it had a big camper on the back it would be worth it to get out and camp in luxury
We have 2 F-250 6.7 Powerstroke, bought them in 2023 with some miles. The previous owner had already put on lift kits with air suspension, 37", beadlocks on 23", etc.. These trucks cost us 115 k (usd). One truck came with a canopy whith liftable roof, cost another 20 k. These guys are Euro 6 d, so they run on Add blue (Diese. Exh. Fluid, DEF)..... Towing ? 7.9 tons.....regular maintenance every 10,000 km, that is it. The F-150 is a huge seller in the US, and it is available with a small 3l diesel...
F150 doesn't have the diesel anymore here in the states. The EPA has made it almost impossible for diesel engines to pass testing. The f150 diesel was only available for a very short time, I've never even seen one.
Surprised that the government let you have one of those. The "shocks" are genius, allowing you to get back to legal ride height when you hit the road. Practically half the trucks running around the US are F250/2500's, towing capacity is essentially whatever you feel like. Dudes have 32' boats and 6 ton equipment trailers like they are giving them away. It would take a truck like that to stick out at all.
@@TheTripleDubyaThe ones up top count as a 1light/bar if they all turn on at once. Light bars that turn on with multiple stages are technically counted as multiple lights even tho doubt you would ever get pulled up on that lmao

Most of these comments are negative crazy!!! And people are just jealous and don't appreciate what a vehicle like that can do! Who cares not your money not your problem
Thanks for your comment. We are currently on a Cape York trip and averaging 18L/100km. Towing the boat at 4t we average 20.5L/100. Very happy with the economy . 👌

Little guy with porn-star moustache frothing lol. How will it go on tracks where generations of standard width 4wds have been going? Outside the track line, destroying bodywork, paint, and the environment.
The future? God I hope not. One of the things I love about Australian rigs is that they are a reasonable size. Those things are just stupid. Way too big (living in Canada, I share the road with trucks like this and no thanks.)
These huge trucks push out more than 3 times the heat that a small sedan does. Blame global warming on over-sized vehicles; especially if they mostly use them like ... small sedans.

Nice rig. But who wants to spend that kind of money on a build plus you also need to get your truck licence. Seems like a good tow truck but as someone else said you could buy a house on the water or even pay to leave your big boat parked up and still have food at hone 😆
As an American it's pretty cool to see our domestic vehicles getting exported and appreciated around the world.
I saw this one at the Brisbane 4x4 show. Its a bloody monster. Credit to EC crew for a brilliant build

I met him over at the boat ramp at redland bay a month ago , he was putting his boat in . The Truck is an absolute monster.
Love this truck that suspension is the ducks guts and you have the same power as the ram eater pretty much. Brilliant.

I love how Canadians love the small aussie 4x4s and they are the same for our big rig

Once we have the money in 50000000 years, the point will be clearer hahaa
I’ve found Lots of people nowadays are selling up homes to do their trip around Australia. This is a potential solution for the bigger towing needs
Can't beat life on the road
Meet a guy who built a bus to go around Oz for a year, 12 yrs later him and his wife were still going around. There's a buyer for everything.
Also is that a super cab or crew cab and what wheelbase is that, possible to do a similar setup with a shorter wheelbase?

Looks cool but give me a Unimog any day of the week over this. Fraction of the price and Probably better on fuel As well

Dream truck
I get it, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But my eyes hurt when looking at the proportions of this thing.
F450 and F550 are proper pickups!
in the states VERY expensive to insure and most insurance companies wont touch ...lmk if you know different . GREAT BUILD LOVE IT
Not always. When we purchase the vehicle, the insurance part is one day. They usually don't ask about aftermarket stuff.
I run an F450 in Maryland and it is not more expensive to insure than any other $100k vehicle.
Weights aren't a big secret when they're on the side of the truck. 🤣🤣🤣
