As someone who grew up playing rep basketball with and against some of these girls I have to say, I’m so proud. Other counties don’t realise that it’s not about who is playing, we may not have big numbers of kids playing basketball compared to some countries but we give everyone a chance to play and work as a team and everyone gets better as a unit. We have club basketball which is just the local tournament and on top of that have representative basketball which trains at least 2 times a week for about 2 hours each time. So we get a lot of practice. We also hold a lot of events like when I was a teen we had a sleepover night at the stadium which we did a lot of competitions and stuff it was really fun. I miss those days to be honest. I’m 27 end every day I still think of basketball lol. Time to pick the ball back up
If They would of picked Arike they would have had a go to scorer but nooooooo they wanted to pick a player who’s injured instead.

I think that WNBA all star are much better than this USA team.
Smh, dropped some good defenders for some old legends. No disrespect but it shows here. USA should have used some of our younger players.
I couldn't agree more. There is absolutely no reason for Bird and Taurasi (who isn't playing currently) to be on this team. They each already have 4 or 5 gold medals.

If you watched the full game, the USA team skipped few wide-open mid and paint scores trying to open three points spot. They're just giving up on 8pts and at least 3 or 4 foul plays. Today's basketball players are victims of 3pts plays.

Considering that in Australia. they lose a good amount of potential players to the proto basketball game of Netball, this win was even more impressive.

Courtney Williams and Arike Ogunbowale should be on this team instead of Diana and sue. They had their time, should’ve let these younger ballers play.
Especially with Diana Taurasi being Injured with a bad hip, she only played 6 games in the WNBA this year.

The US team is looking old and slow. No Arike??? No Courtney?? No Erica? Not dynamic, boring. So much for showing the world how entertaining the WNBA is. Regardless of medal outcome this is a missed opportunity to grow the game outside of the US. Very disappointing.
I am very surprised with regard to the slow pace. Very boring.
I blame who ever selected the USA team. WNBA all stars won by 6 and now USA loses by 3 to a team they won against in 2018. Bird and Taurasi are a waste of roster spots we need Arike Ogunbowale and Courtney Williams instead. I respect my WNBA legends but I think they would have been a better fit. Good thing this was only an exhibition game though.

Bradley beal got health violation he's gone now jermi grant is in violation also and usa is pushed into a corner of desperately needing there best of best. James harden,lebron,steph,russel,derozen,kyrie, zion,. And the lack of chemistry is showing because all they do is iso. Give the team some time and they should be good in no time. They redeemed there 2 lose EXHIBITION streak by blowing out Argentina. All the games usa has lose has been between 10.

I am a huge fan of the USA women basketball but this time you can’t deny that the issue is obviously problematic team selection. Imo they should’ve chosen a few small forwards to diversify their plays. Also their guards are less of a shooter… if they got arike/ Courtney Williams the team would be more explosive and dynamic. I would’ve chosen kelsey Mitchell over chelsea gray too…

Delle Donne is still recovering from her surgery, Ionescu looked very slow coming back from her injury of June and Maya Moore hasnt played since 2018.

Both the men and the women USA basketball teams pathetically lost to the Australian team, respectively. I watched it live up to the middle of the third quarter, at the point where they led by 15 points. What an embarrassment!!! This team is simply playing horribly. They are totally asleep at the defense. They will be lucky to win even a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
