My Best Craps Strategy for Random Rollers: The HCS Hybrid

  • After my last trip to Las Vegas and encountering the busy craps tables that were full of random rollers, I adjusted my strategies which evolved to this "Go To" strategy that helped me survive the random rollers until I got back the dice.
This strategy is not a beginner strategy because of all it's moving parts which includes 3 strategies in one, a come out roll strategy, a short game strategy, and the long game strategy.
It helped me survive in Vegas and hope this strategy can help you as well.

Question: After each point is hit and the puck goes off, could we also then use the same come out strategy of laying the 4 or 10 with the Hardway hedge again?? Try to roll that 7 again when the bets are off and just try to pick up some extra change here & there? Then immediately remove the lay and Hardway hedge after each new point is marked on the same shooter? This way we’re still active on every possible roll and pad the profits. Yeah?

So then another question about the Quarter Pounder w/EZ: Let’s say we start our session, lay out our $ requirement for QP’er, get to Foundation, and find ourselves with, let’s say $50-$100 of profit on that shooter after the completion of their roll. Now, new shooter comes out and establishes the point.
Here’s my primary question: Do we then need to come out with a *NEW* QP’er or can we just immediately set Foundation with our profits from the previous shooter?
I’ve been playing with a new QP’er on each new shooter to then establish my Foundation and go from there, but I’m wondering if it’s optimal 🤔. I mean, I already have profits that I can immediately lay Foundation with and for each new shooter I’m putting out extra risk, all for the purpose of “getting to Foundation” when I already have the funds for Foundation. Does this make sense?
Could you please shed some light on this? New QP’er for each new shooter or just immediately lay Foundation with profits?

OK, could not resist my experience with this when I stopped in at the casino for a quick session on my way home from the mountains here in CO. I have been rolling this strategy on my practice table/rig with pretty good success. Though at times I think when you get the two hits on the quarter pounder with ease it might be better to rack the $50 and let the shooter roll out. I found that I lost most of the $50 once set up on the 44 inside.
Last night I stopped in, put up the $140 on the 10 and $20 on the hard ten. Random rolled a 7 for a $47 winner. I was going to go into the 66 inside but said what the heck and put it back up. Random rolled a 7 again for a $47 winner. Being dumb, I went back up and lo and behold he rolls another 7. Now up $141 on the first three rolls. I don't go up again on the come out and he sets a point of 8. I know I should go straight to 66 inside, (all tables in CO are at least $15 minimum) but I want to play with the strategy and go to $165 quarter pounder with ease. Random rolls a 5, $40 winner. Random rolls a 5 again, $40 winner. I go to 66 inside and and he hits 4 point numbers which I collected $21 each on and did not press as I felt I had been really lucky and the 7 was coming. He rolled a couple of craps numbers and a soft 4 in between. Anyway, I was up just over $300 in 15 minutes, left a $25 tip for the crew and left. I'm sure it's going to work this way every time.

Wow Brian, I wish I found this two years ago. This is really a bit of genius as David (from CQ) would say. I really agree with the logic in all phases. Limiting the exposure and loss of bankroll. The random rollers can really crush you fast. Even my own rolls when I’m on tilt lol. It requires a bit bigger bank roll but I think with about a $1,000 on a $10 game you should be pretty safe to play for a while. I tend to do a $500 bankroll when playing craps because I am pretty broke dick (as Alex from CQ is fond of saying) so I play a modified iron cross most times. It’s a 3 unit 5,6&8 or $15 & $18 set up and $15 field. Try to catch that early field roll and use that money to cover the 4,9&10 at $10 each and reduce my 5,6,8 back down to 2 units or $10 & $12. The next goal is to use any outside hits like 4,5,9&10 to press up 6&8 and try and catch a 6 or 8 at about $30, collect that which is $35 to my rack and now be out of the hand. It’s $66 if I’m not mistaken maximum exposure. Like I said, a broke dick strategy but I like it for the $500 bank roll on a $10 table. I love your entire hybrid strat with a $1,000 bankroll and I love how it is constant action every roll of the dice. You are awesome my friend! Mahalo 😃

So we actually have some $5 tables here in AZ. I really like this strategy and I still think I would prefer to just play it at $10 for the easy math of it even if it is a $5 min. But was wondering how the math would work out for a $5 denom betting?
    - Come out, $10 H4, and is it $70 Lay 4?
    - Qtr Pounder, $30 on the 6/8, $17 on the field and $5 hopping the 5's?
    - Foundation, $22 inside and $1 each hard 4/10?
Hope not to many questions. Still a newbie and just want to practice with the right numbers at home. I really like the strategies you have out and (minus the bankroll) think you and I would probably play alike.

    • @HawaiiCrapsShooters
      @HawaiiCrapsShooters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Jhonny. Many ways to qualify a shooter but a simple one I use is on the come out roll you watch and observe if that shooter is a controlled shooter or a random. How they throw the dice will give you that info. If it’s a true random then I’ll wait to bet with a 3-5 count then start the strategy. I’ll have just the Lay 4 and the hard 4 set on the come out and during the qualifying period because the 7 is strong at all times. If I see it’s a controlled shooter then I’ll move to the quarter pounder. And then to my foundation. Hope this helps.

Here are some of my thoughts: It's great that you are using lay bets for hedging your bets. However, I would like to suggest a different starting approach w/ the same basic result. Using the 6&8 place bets and a line bet with odds for hedging. I've noted an aversion to using line bets on your part even though they have phases (either the comeout or point cycle rolls) where they have an edge over the casino. So, instead of laying the 4 as a hedge, I would use don't line bets+ odds for the hedge. At a 10x free odds table, it keeps the HA down.

I try to have the table to myself or with other skilled shooters. At $10 table , If randoms shoot, then after the comeout , put a $10 dc and a buck on yo. If 7 ouch then thats most I can loose and to the next shooter. If it hits point and travels then I place same number as a hedge. if number hits, then I collect and put back 10 on dc. if 7 ouch, then I break even. Of course you have to remind dealers that bets always working. Its a minimal loss to break even while waiting till its your turn. Randoms will burn up your bankroll really fast if you play often, and you just have to suck it up on the occasion one gets on a long roll and you are missing out. Now if you play once in a while, have fun and bet whatever you like on any player. But if you are playing very frequently as a controlled shooter hoping to make money, then this is how I advise to play when you have forced action on a random roller.

  • @ProCraps
    @ProCraps 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Love this ... I especially like how you moved away from the $305 for one hit down to $165 for two hits. That's really thinking deeply about your exposure. I am torn on trusting 2 hits vs 1 hit for the random roller, but you're right about having that amount of money at risk, even if it's just one roll.
Very much enjoy the super aggressive play on the come out, looking for that 7. That's wickedly creative.
This one is going to be fun to roll out. I'd still go pineapple press on your across bet on a random shooter, though. The half press on your rolls, yep ... but I think a random roller needs your money back in the rack.
I'm really feeling the backwards nature of your approach. I begin building every one of my "right side" strategy builds the same way.
I start with deciding "what do I actually want to play" (like your $44 inside with aggressive pressing) and then I figure out what I need to do to earn that amount of money in 1 shot.
I call it the "So That" method ...
Do this bigger and riskier thing for one roll (or two) "so that" I can do what I really want to do, free of risk.

Good video Brian, I really like the quarter pounder with ease. I'm always afraid of that PSO. 😕 what do you think about $310 no4 for protection 🤔 or that defeats the purpose?

  • @sophiethesloth
    @sophiethesloth 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

With higher table minimums in vegas now I hear, you may need more than 44 across maybe need triple quater pounder 3 wins then take that 75 for 15 on 5&9 18 on 6&8 so 66 across profit $9
Or if you hit a come out 7 for $47 profit then you just need 1 quarter pound hit to start the $66 across.
    $66 across wins pay $21 :)
Then options maybe if hit a 5 or 10 press up $5 on each keep $11 or even any win of $21 add a dollar and press all by 1 unit 🤔
So all wins pay $28 then go from there :) 😃 obviously good luck will be needed

@@HawaiiCrapsShooters great videos by the way im new and enjoying going through them.
      So it would be
Stage 1 ..lay the 4 for $140 and $20 on hard 4 as your hybrid states.
Every 7 wins $67 after the vig
Keeping on that until you make a point hopefully a few sevens rolled ( set those dice for controlled more chance of a 7 ;)
Stage 2..if you won $67 from a seven in the come out roll go
      $15 on 5&8 $18 on 6&8
      Save the $1 ready
When you get 1 hit winning $21 press them all up 1 unit so total of $22.
Then away we go all this is house money now hoping to build some money :)
Ermm if not hit a 7 in come out then it needs to be your quarter pounder with cheese 🧀
      $60 on 6&8
      $35 field
Then hop that 5 for $10 or do you risk leaving 5 blank ?
      5 rolls you lose $35
7 rolls you lose it all.
      If you don't cover the 5 you need 2 hits field or 6&8 pays $35 x 2 = $70 that covers that $66 across.
And you can even go then $2 on hard 4 & hard 10.

Only problem I see is that the strategy assumes the "best case" scenario of the random shooters...
Even controlled shooter throw a point and 7 but, with less chance of doing so...still, it happens.
I have seen many random Shooters in Vegas that made a fire bet! ALL 6 points!
Rare but, it did happen. I bet minimal amount, after "studying" the table and Shooters, to determine what numbers are coming out more with some consistency before any of my money get on the table.
Believe me, blah, I tried almost all of these strategies and found NONE that actually worked well enough to be tried again.
My best strategy is observation, assessment and gut feelings based on what I see happening on the table.
You can have a master degree on mathematics and still loose your butt on crap table😁
    Good insight though.

You’re absolutely right Kodiak but that is just what makes Craps fun and Challenging. If there was no chance to lose then then no craps tables would be in the casinos. The love of the challenge is what keeps me going but I agree with you, observation, timing and using the right strategy at the right time is key. Thanks for your comment
