Andrew, thank you for the book suggestions. Managed to find them on Amazon U.S. also got fantastic prices buying them used in like new condition. Looking forward to reading them. I am 83 and looking forward to learning a new accomplisment
Hi Andrew, thanks for the list, I will take a look at them! I'm from Argentina and a hobbyist jeweller so I'll recommend one book that helped me is called "La Joyería" written bythe Spanish Carles Codina. Obviously this book is in Spanish, but might help some of your viewers. Thanks
Yay! Jinks McGrath is SOOO fabulous, I love her books. I first met her through a book(let) that is so good and to the point for the subject, and unusually put together with the way she did the sections. It's called "The Rings Book". A smaller book, absolutely fantastic. She touched on tools just a bit, as she assumes a certain level of experience as a prerequisite - how refreshing (!) to not have to read about the invention of the wheel over and over and over again. Jinx is a wonderful teacher! I've got 3 of her books but not the one you highlight in this video so I will zoom over to Amazon and grab it, thanks, Andrew. The others I haven't heard about til now, so since I trust you totally, zooming over to Amazon, yet again then to my stocks guy to buy more Amazon stock, (kidding!....NOT!).
Hi Andrew, I’m a jeweler who has read 3-4 books on jewelry making but none of them seem to go in depth on stone setting. If there are any that you highly recommend I would love to know or see a video covering stone setting books. Thank you for your amazing videos!
I am working on a ring that I have sweat soldered a piece of hammered copper onto a piece of nickel. I am having a hard time getting a seamless solder seam with the top layer (the copper). Could you make a video for that?
Now looking into making a bench purchase. Store in my area has just one available but to order a specific bench I believe they may be able to do that. Asked that source for feedback. Any one here have suggestions on bench style? Tips, cons, anything. If I make a purchase it will be a big move. A move from a tall table with drawers to a bench. Send me a message if anyone wants to.
