Considering nothing is plugged in and and theres no mic and wireless wasnt invented yet . I would say its lip syncing . Most shows did lip and instrument syncing to recorded tracks back then cuz the quality for live recording was expensive and not as reliable as far as sound quality while taping.

i am 73 and loved the music of the 60's. There will never be another decade that will produce so many uber talented singers, song writers and musicians. One funny thing though, 99 percent of all tv performances were lip synced. notice, no power cords to the instruments, no mics and none of the musicians you hear on the records, like drums.
