Just saw Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons on November 12th in San Jose at the Civil Center. It was my second time to see them. I had such a great time. Frankie Valli is 89 years old and still going strong. Love this group. 😊😊
I've been crushing over Gerry Polcie since 1975. Get this I was only 13. I love the whole group but Gerry is so fine and full of soul. He's still fine. Hats off to his wife. You go girl. Even at 21 he was the man. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons will go down in history. Thanks you guys for giving us all of you. God bless all of you and your families.
He can sing like that and play drums like an ace, color has nothing to do with it, I'm a blues jazz musician that played in all black clubs and bands coming up, and yes stereotypes are whites have no soul, we just copy black ppl, but yes that maybe true to some extent, it doesn't mean we don't at some point let our creativity take over and flow, which is soul weather it's black soul or white is irrelevant when it's music is music and has no color anymore, I'm just saying, ppl said I was black on inside and white on outside so many times I couldn't tell you, and yes I have many black heros in my life as did Gerry most likely since you feel that vibe
I really wish that Gerry was able to do a solo album as he had an amazing voice. I got to meet him and fellow Four Season Lee Shapiro up in Saratoga Springs at The Hit Men concert in the rain.
This performance is from 1979, just as disco was dying and this lineup was about split up, they were doing one last round of tv shows with this lineup to promote Frankie's solo hit 'Grease' from the movie of the same name.
Dan Mullen & Nancy Madsen "Oh What A Night" is a song by The Four Seasons, released in December 1975. The song was written by Bob Gaudio and Judy Parker and produced by Gaudio. It became a big hit for the group, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in March 1976. The song is a nostalgic look back at a memorable night in December 1963, when I met Nancy Madsen who left a lasting impression on me. The lyrics describe the excitement and anticipation of that evening, as well as the lingering memories of the Nancy who captured the my heart. The catchy melody and upbeat tempo of "Oh What A Night" have made it a classic of the disco era, and it continues to be a popular party song to this day. But life can be cruel, it can tear us apart And fate can be fickle, it can break a young heart I never forgot you, Nancy, you were always on my mind I hope that you're happy, wherever you may find
No Auto-tune Kids... Damn fine musicians all round... Can't beat a mid-tempo Four to the floor Disco beauty.... Cracking melody, hooks galore and, talented vocals...
@@Slicker1138 Everyone uses auto tune today. I work as a professional songwriter and even though the auto tune isn't noticable everyone uses it just so the vocals sound good and not sour.

Ive been hooked on this tune for the decades since I first heard it! It just has that musical hook that stays in your mind for hours! "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" is another one.
Hooks were Taylored for this, the beegees we're masters of the hook, Micheal Jackson was as well, and well some old rock songs have sweet hooks as well, Beatles were masters at taking that one familiar part and making it completely foreign, and beach boys, omg they created hooks that were entirely melodies. Getting down to brass tacks, black music didn't invent hooks but sure made them stand out in their music back in the day, blues was all about the hook, the turnaround, the 12-16 bars with "hook" but traditional English or even classical music has hooks in them but the emphasis of the hook was pop music, and later hip-hop made it a "thing" just having a hook then repeating it= hit record formula, hence the samples of famous songs already with popular hooks, rappers and DJs steal them and change them some then think they are some genius or something
Yeah, I agree. I loved this one the first time I heard it and although many feel that The Lion Sleeps Tonight has been played to death, I cannot help but sing along and I still love it. Same with many ELO titles -- they're just timeless.
After an absence of a couple of years, Gerry Polci is back touring. I hope I can go see him again where ever he might be performing. He was so awesome drumming for the Hitmen.
Wow!!!! What a performance by my favorite band The Four Seasons. Great line up, Gerry Polci on drums, the late Don Ciccone on guitar, Larry Lingle on guitar and the late Jerry Corbetta on the organ, and yes, Frankie Valli.
Gerry Polci resurrected the Four Seasons with this hit and his first wife, Frankie Valli's daughter Toni him convinced to leave the band and later divorced him 🙄.
My favorite group and regret not seeing the Garden State Arts Center shows in Summer of 1980 which the "Reunited Live" album was culled from. I always wondered if they recorded any of the concert shows on video. This seems to be exactly the one from that album. What a line up of Frankie, Gerry Polci, Larry Lingle and the late Don Ciccone and Jerry Corbetta. Thanks for the music over the decades as it really has enhanced life!!

Amen to that, such beautiful, pure voices.
Very few artists nowadays use auto tune either. It's a niche thing to get a sound that's desired. Most are pure voices just like Gerry and Frankie

The drummer and guitar player on vocals blew me away. Never knew. Best teamwork ever. Love love love this song.

Great song for anyone who grew up in the 70s!
If you don’t know: it’s VERY difficult to play the drums and sing that melody.
This is my favorite live performance of this song in terms of Polci's lead vocal. He's more in control here
I’ve never seen a poor performance from him. He was still nailing it 40 years later.
Still amazes me how his weapon of choice is a tambourine but he STILL slayed. Lol
