  • This video showcases all levels and animations of all of the Black Magic spells in the Gameboy Advance version of Final Fantasy II. Note that this took quite a while to do even with hacking the game to change levels, mostly due to the shear number of animations used throughout all spells.

    For a GBA game, it has some AMAZING sound effects. I especially like the Stop and Ice sounds.
    Thank you for this exhibition.

    It gives elements to physical attack depending on the spell level. So if you used Aura Lv7, it'd give extra damage vs everything. If Aura Lv3 was used, it'd give extra damage vs Magic Beasts/Aquatic/Earth types.

      so later levels of aura don't stack the prior benefits? Seems like a rip.

    Good job on the video. I know it takes a LOT of work to level up those spells. I've been grinding like hell on the "Origins" version, and I've managed to get every spell (except Stun and Fog) up to level 16.

      Sad thing is, I also wanted to show this off in the NES/PSX/PSP versions too to show the differences (same with all the other spells. I don't know if I did that or not yet...), but doing it for THIS game would just be...ugh...>_

      I don't know if I did for this one or not (I don't recall, it's been forever ago since I did), but I don't know if that's doable on the PSP version or not. It'd make that a lot more manageable though.

    And will you do exhibitions for the Pixel Remasters?

    • @Xenomic
      @Xenomic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a lot harder to do with the PSP/PSX versions, lemme tell you. As for the Pixel Remaster version, I don't even know if it's possible for me to do those. I'd like to do FFV/FFVI iOS as well, but same issue.

    • @stardustsdd

      @@Xenomic what do you mean by not possible? Do you mean that you can't record them?
      Btw this isn't pressure, just wanted to know if it was possible. I'm a huge fan of cool spell animations and is the reason why I love playing as mages.

    • @Xenomic
      @Xenomic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stardustsdd Yeah, unless there was a way to get it for emu or whatnot, I can't exactly do the iOS games. PSX/PSP, the main reason I was able to do it with this version was because there were codes to help with changing the spell levels to whatever I needed at the time (and lemme tell you, THAT actually saves a looooot of time...).
      I understand that sentiment. Main reason I did these exhibitions in the first place is to show them off, and some people have used them as references for their own games and whatnot, which is what I was hoping it'd be useful for! Granted, I haven't done any exhibitions in a long time (since FFVII Remake actually...)...just haven't had time to do it (nor motivation, due to how much work it is lol...). FFXV was in the works, but yeeeeeeeah....

      @@Xenomic the pixel remasters are on Steam, you could record your PC (not asking you to do it, lol).

      @@zeableunam Don't worry, Ultima REALLY gets it's due in this game. Not only is it plot important to the game, but it's damage has the most complicated mechanics there are. Not only do you get more damage by levelling it up, every weapon (including shields) and spell you have levels on adds to it's damage. Once they fixed the bug present in the Famicom version, it got really powerful really quickly.
