I have been researching like crazy and I keep coming back to your videos. You are a delight to watch and so informative. My husband and I traveled in a converted step van with our baby and a 7-year old many years ago. I remember them as the easiest times with my kids ... so glad to hear you are going to continue your adventure when you start your family! So, now at 68, I am making steps to return to van life as a single woman with a dog! I hope it is as easy as with kids and a husband! I would love to buy your van!
pamelake Ah, thanks for your comment! I’m sure you’ll be perfectly fine as a single woman in your van! We meet a lot of solo travelers around here and they’re all having a blast! The van will be on sale in October, if you haven’t found anything by then!
Guys, please dont ever change and sell out like other you tube couples! You both are beautiful and joyful to watch together. I smile everytime I watch you two. It's like watching an older couple that have been together for ages!
Yes please, a photography class video!!! Binging your channel and love your van!!! Thank you for sharing. Congrats for the “Little traveler” on the way!!! ♥️♥️♥️
“You have the wrong hand honey.” I’m dead! 🤣 Thanks for doing that for me so I don’t have to. Now I will not make that mistake! Lol Something I would definitely do... 🤦🏼♂️
Very beautiful and transparent! Most people would edit that out! I think it’s the icing on the cake! I would be so nervous! Haha I laugh at myself more than anything so I can appreciate it! Happy for you all!
Vanlife Sagas Bub, as soon as I seen it I thought, no one has actually ever showed me! Haha I swear I would have done the same thing. I love it though, just makes it that much more special! Plus, it’s genuine. And fits your personality so well! Haha And those things are what make it great to follow certain people.
Hahaha, indeed a quirky moment! Thought I would share this little story just for fun. I'm also French Canadian and always assumed the wedding ring goes on your left hand. I never questioned it but then I moved to the Netherlands and married a Dutchie. The dutch wear their ring on the right hand. Whaaaat? So I googled it. It turns out there's not really a good or wrong hand. It depends on your culture and preference basically. So, thats it. I wear my ring on the left anyway. And my husband lost his, so I can't remember where he wore it. It slipped off while washing his hands and despite his best efforts to get it back, it now most probably lies in a camping's septic tank on the west coast of Canada. Haha! At least he made a friend while trying to take the whole sink apart... and, no it was NOT the camping owners! Haha! So, Dom, gentlemen, if you keep your ring, no matter which hand its on, you're already doing a great job! Haha! ;)
I can't get enough of you two, I love your videos. Your personalities are playful, fun and quirky. I hope to one day have my own van with the goal of traveling with my daughter. Seeing how living the van life adds so much adventure and joy to your life motivates to make my dream reality. You have a fan for life.
Welcome to Western Canada Easterns! But do you come in peace? ;) Favourite City Boondocking: I have a Transit so I go to a Ford dealership and park on the street. Great Answer Dom, I’ve had more fun restoring my Airstream than ever and it hasn’t even left the drive yet. 🤣 Something about building it out with your own hands, planning and doing it with the special people who have helped you. I will always look at it in a far different way than if I were to just buy one. Blood, sweat and tears! 💪🏼
I watch alot of vanlife style videos but you guys are the first I've subscribed too! Your personalities are fantastic, your van is brilliant and your videos are both hilarious and informative! Thanks for sharing your content!
Guys... you are just the best "life style channel" I've seen so far (I subscribe 44 of them)... Please, don't stop making videos! You keep being amazing!
first off, i enjoy watching ur videos. i have been watching vanlife videos for years but i find yours the most honest and entertaining. u, two, are very intelligent couple.
I love the fact that you have a 136" wb van. I just bought a Transit with the 130" wheelbase and was feeling very small and inferior after watching so many videos on converting long wheel base vans. The information you've provided has really helped me think through building on the smaller wheel base. Now I only feel small and inferior for having a standard roof height. Thank you!
Noticed the accounting didn't include things like van insurance, health insurance (which, presumably you need to purchase when traveling the US), maintenance, etc. Seems important for folks to be able to visualize as well.
These are very good questions. We'll certainly be doing a video about that shortly. Thanks for the tip Zachary! In the meantime, insuring the van in Québec, Canada, works the same as insuring a vehicle. A professional evaluated our van and the insurance company insured it to the amount mentioned by the evaluator. As for health insurance, it was around $600 for a 10-month period. Obviously, we're covered in Canada, but the $600 covered 120 non-consecutive days in the USA. Good questions!
Absolutely love your videos... im at the "looking for the right van" stage in my life... going to watch everything you two do... currently living off grid in Washington state.. going to continue having this paradise as my home base.. but the gypsy in me calls... and since im a widowed father of 2 its not feasible to continue to "collect passport stamps" this seems like just the solution to get my wanderlust desires fulfilled... and you are so fun to watch and inspire... thank you and keep them coming 🥰
When you say "If you only have 15-20000€, most of what you see on Pinterest is gonna be hard to achieve"... I hear you, but my broke ass slaving away in Portugal for minimal wage (am a cook) is dead set on proving you wrong. Love to you two, thanks for the quality content xx
The mission log is actually a great idea *wink wink* it’s almost like someone should make a few custom designs and sell them as merch with a nice logo and everything 😉 for the maringouins and other assorted bugs like hamburger-size flying cucarachas, have you considered installing sliding retractable screens in the 2 doors? 🤔🤗🦟🕸
Sophie Marc-aurèle hahahahaha “and other hamburger-sizes flying cucarachas” stealing that joke. But we have thought of it, they’re just sooo expensive. Might get that for the next van for sure.
Just discovered you guys. Funny, informative, and loving your content. Planning on doing a van build eventually. Keep up the great work! Cheers from the Chicago area!
Sending gratitude for teaching so much with love, sparkly joy&wonder. REALLY want to buy your van in October!!! My biggest dream is traveling with my beautiful son. Living with autism makes flying very overwhelming to him but riding around is his favorite thing.

Oh, thanks for the comment! Dom is actually working on a little van photography workshop as we speak. Just simple tricks and tips to take pictures in and around vans, and in nature in general. It already sounds like a lot of fun!
Hi Guys, I am new to your Videos and I think that you two are awesome! this video was very informative, I love the chemistry between you. I look forward to another voedo. Cheers and good luck.
Just found your van in Dinosaur PP yesterday! Love the retro exterior, loving the videos of your interior! Jazzed to see you're in Calgs now, have an amazing time! Time to go binge all your videos!
@@vanlifesagas 😅 We were hanging out having some ice cream nearby when we saw your van and looked you up! Didn't want to impose, seemed like you were just getting back from the showers. Hope you get some time to travel out to Kananaskis, Banff and Lake Louise-- those are the primary perks of being in and around Calgary! Consider me a new follower! 😊
I love you so much (not in a creepy stalker way lol)....so funny, intelligent, loving toward one another....thank you again for sharing, this is all good to know info 👍👍
I'd love it if you did a video about winter in the van in Canada. Your back doors don't look insulated and you have so many windows. Sure -30C your pipes freeze, but your water is above the floor, so does it freeze in the van? How does the van handle in the snow? Presuming you have snow tires (b/c QC law), where do you store your 4-season tires? All things winter in a van, please.
Very very good questions! We'll certainly do a winter video when winter comes. In the meantime, the water freezes, that's for sure. That's why we don't have a shower, the pipes would blow in the winter. As for the windows, we cover them with insulation in the winter. We also have a heater making it possible to sleep when it's -30. The tires are good, they're high end tires and they're snow tires. But in all honesty, people in Quebec don't live in vans in the winter, it's nearly impossible. They either go South or on the West coast, or store their van for the winter!
Would love a video on photographing the van!! You guys crack me up and you're both so cute!! Thank you for your awesome insights!! And I LOOOOVE all your videos!!
Hi Guys! Coming back to your van because I really love it, and I'm about to get the roof vent for my Peugeot Boxer, and I am comparing the Dometic Fantastic with its rain sensor (£380) and a Fiamma vent that would have the same specs except for the rain sensor: the Fiamma needs to be close manually (£180). Now here is my question if you don't mind sharing your experience on this point: how much do you find yourself using this rain sensor option, how essential is it? For twice the price I hesitate because I wonder how much I would benefit from this automatic closure system (I kind of like it though..). I take it's mainly for the nights, but in winter, do you have to leave the fan on at a low speed whole night for example? Sorry for all these questions but many thanks in advance again for your advice! Take care, cheers from Scotland!
The rain sensor is pretty useful for bad weather. It is not rare, for example, that the fan shuts down by itself in the middle of the night to avoid water getting inside. So yes, we would say it’s a very good and reliable option!
You 2 are too cool !!!! I would have sent you cash ahead of time for VANessa !!!! Oh my. My question would be the reason for the stripes lol. Dom point's them out often tehe.VANDOMARIE )-: Much love from Texas
Just started watching your videos (close to buying my/our first van (eeeekk so exciting but also a wee bit nerve-racking! ). You two are lovely and hilarious and so helpful! I wanted to know if the log book would be available but I see other people have already asked and you have been kind to take the time to reply so I know the answer to that one! My other question is where did Dom get his shirt? I love it! Anyway, thank you both!!! Hope that you all are safe and happy and that your new van planning is going well. Cheers!
Hello hello Hannah! Welcome to the channel. We're extremely happy to have you here with us. The logbook will eventually be available for purchase. We promise! Dom got his shirt from Hooké, right here: hooke.ca! See you next week friend 🧡
Theresa Hartman we have but it’s just a little too big for us. We want to be able to park in cities and all so, we’ll keep it pretty small. Going for a 159’’
i am fron the philippines and i dont think or, i could just be very unaware, that vanlife or living in the van is being done here. although, i'd like to do it, if only i have the resources to do it. anyways, congrats to u and may the baby come soon, that is, once the new van to accomodate the baby is done and ready for the road. God bless!
We were actually in the Philippines in February and discussed with locals in Siargao. They were having the same reflection. I believe they mentioned it would be difficult traveling the van from island to island.

We don't yet! But working on it for sure :)
Genuinely helpful and funny video 🙌🏻 would love a photography video... but yeah thanks!!
Martin Turner Hey thanks! Dom is working on his photography class as we speak. Probably out in 1 or 2 weeks.
Vanlife Sagas Thanks so much for the reply.
Beautiful van build. Would love to see more photography tips.
Coming to you in next Sunday’s episode. Stay tuned!

I would love videos about photography!!💕
Coming soon 🤫
lol I saw you guys driving down the road from Big White today nice looking van~
Steven Rathwell Yeahhh! We’ll be drinking wine in Kelowna today!

Thank you! We love our baby!

We have a full video on that on our channel :)
Have you considered a shuttle bus for your next rig? Great Diesel engines that live forever, cheaper, and more space.
Theresa Hartman we have but it’s just a little too big for us. We want to be able to park in cities and all so, we’ll keep it pretty small. Going for a 159’’
I had twins! You might need more seats. Xx
Jill Adams 😲😲😲 can you imagine the party in that van !!
i am fron the philippines and i dont think or, i could just be very unaware, that vanlife or living in the van is being done here. although, i'd like to do it, if only i have the resources to do it. anyways, congrats to u and may the baby come soon, that is, once the new van to accomodate the baby is done and ready for the road. God bless!
We were actually in the Philippines in February and discussed with locals in Siargao. They were having the same reflection. I believe they mentioned it would be difficult traveling the van from island to island.
Chill, relax Mary, watching at you is as going for a loan... smile enjoy your time while creating videos loll Try to not look 90% too serious..
