The Giant Holes: Kimberly Diamond Mine (The Big Hole), South Africa

The Kimberly Diamond Mine Museum in South Africa. This is where diamonds were discovered in 1879.
De Beers eventually stopped mining the pit which was allowed to fill with water and dug shafts down into the diamond-bearing rocks below.
They stopped mining altogether in 1914 and this is now part of a museum.
The city of Kimberly is on the horizon. De Beers headquarters is still in Kimberly.

I was there in 2018 and there was not a recorded of the miners but its 2021 things might of changed

your talking bull shit, if you where their you would know that their is no houses even close to the mine and their is a kilometer of open land that is fenced of and that miners where STRICTLY allowed and that nobody could enter even in the 1900’s, the reason is that one of the biggest diamonds ever was found in their and the Brits (souties) took it and now it sits at the top of the Queens crown. And if you knew so much of that place was then you would also know about the Victoria hotel. Oh and one more thing, if you loved in South Africa, in which Provence is Kimberley then? You probably don’t even know
