Another interesting thing you'll find in South Africa is footprints of humans on stones... They are rarely mentioned though. And they are not well documented... I wonder what these footprints implies. There is a saying among south African tribes that goes like "Muvenḓa mubikwa na Ive, Ive la vhibva Muvenda a sala"(Tshivenḓa language) which translates to "A Venḓa who was cooked with a stone, the stone was cooked but the Venḓa remained". The same saying can be found in other south African tribes

They did however it's important to note that elements from the ancient Sahara did indeed migrate into the Nile valley, it does not take away from the fact that the bulk of the population definitely derives from Sudan Somalia and quite possibly having some influence from populations are there self as well. They only date back a few thousand years but they pre-date the current Bantu inhabitants who arrived later, originally from west africa, who had nothing to do with them.

Does anyone perhaps know of one interesting archeological site somewhere in Africa where at least hundred square rooms are hewn into rock ?
I've watched a documentary where they drove jeeps through the desert and the very desolate land .
No roads or settlements or any kind of vegetation anywhere .
Then they had to pass through a canyon of a sort through a mountain that wasn't very high but there where multiple wide parallel passages through that also connected between each other and inside were these "rooms" carved into rock . Just squares hewn into rock .
No windows or doors or any kind of obvious decoration .
They were half the size of the jeeps so their size was substantial and there were A LOT of them .
And I mean it looked like this could've been a city or a very large marketplace or something .
They drove the jeeps through that place and on both side of the cliffs you could see the rooms and the same in the parallel passages .
So the place was quite big . There were even sand dunes in there and also when they entered and exited.
Unfortunately I didn't memorize the name of the place or which country it was .
I've given up on searching for it on the internet because I couldn't find a single thing about it . Neither text or pictures .
All my searches came up with were the churches hewn into rock that are already famous , but not this place .
And it makes sense because it is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by desert and desolate rocky land with absolutely zero vegetation .
It's hard to do archeology in such a place so it makes sense it is not well known or documented .
