Hello. I have a question for this pattern. For each time you slip stitch, chain 1 then do a HDC, does it go into the same spot where you just ss and sc? Or do you start your first HDC in the next stitch? I am so used to seeing that right after you ss, sc, to put like a dc all into the same spot. Mine appears then as if a bulk of HDC all into the first stitch then I look at yours and wonder if I am doing it wrong. lol. But the little girl in the photo and the hat are both beautiful. Thanks for sharing your project and for the written instructions. Someone had asked me if I could make them a cow bucket hat. I have to admit I mostly make blankets/throws so as this pattern is really a new thing for me and want it to look like a hat in the end. :)

How can I adjust the size of this to fit a 7-8 year old child? How many rounds of the crown should I make? And how many V stitches around would be appropriate for a bigger size?

I made this for my 6 year old sister I did round 12-14 with the same stitch as 8-12 the extra 2 rows gives it’s more of a wide appearance when put on her head :)

You are so right because I just did a tester hat and I said this will probably fit a child age 8-12 😂so I can to check the comments ❤ but I did it with #4 acrylic yarn because I didn’t have any cotton yarn on hand. Thanks for sharing your video ❤
