Just a quick note about Neil Gaiman. I hadn't seen today's news article(s) and was referring to news from end of 2024. The details in the article I have just been sent by a friend are extremely distressing.
This is really sad news. I had loved American Gods and Good Omens and Ocean at the End of the Lane was really important to me when it first came out. I even had a chance to meet Neil at a reading he did in my town since his daughter actually lives/lived in my neck of the woods in Northern California so he had reason to visit and do readings here occasionally. If you’re into longer form video essay style videos, The Leftist Cooks did an amazing video on the situation from the perspective of a fan.
Hi Kaja, I’m a tiger and I am going to roar this year with a new channel and reading from my shelves and more library hauls. Thank you so much for shouting out mental health May and my channel. I love your creativity and you’ve given me a lot of books to love these past years. Aloha friend.
I was born on a rooster year. This year is supposed to be great for me. This could be a book tag. While I always appreciated his ability to write, I never really liked Neil Gaiman's stories but I know people that were devastated by the news about him. I also want to read more philosophy this year. This was fun to watch.
Your intuition is strong ✨️ I planned it as a booktag and then realised I never do book tags and pivoted. I don't think you do many tags, but if you're in the mood I could send you the tag draft. It's pretty much the chapter summaries Shed = with the shedding of what no longer serves us what would you unhaul 😊
The Gaiman news is so depressing, but i think I'd have been more shocked before going to a book signing. some parts were okay, but unlike the Terry Pratchett signings where I got even more excited about him and his writing, I just went off Gaiman. He wasn't rude to me and my friends or anything and the crowds of fans were wild, but I was beating myself up for not reading these signed books and now I'm glad.
It’s funny you touch on instinct, bc the cozy witchy book I’m currently reading (crescent moon tearoom) has an important plot point warning the MCs to question their instincts in case they might be part of a curse and I’m here like, ‘I’m trying to connect with my deeper self, how more destabilized can I be?!?’ 😂😂
😆 Switching to a serious note, I hope your family isn't affected by the fires in LA. My cousin's in Pasadena, and although her neighbourhood is safe, it's surrounded. She shared pictures of the eerie orange glow and dense smoke-the air pollution in her home is beyond words. Sadly, she knows over 20 people who've lost their homes. 😢
Hahaha. Wow, are many of my booktube buddies Roosters! Definitely those I've caught up with and buddyread with are telling me they are Roosters, and none of you🐓are older than me 🤣

It is sad, I just started watching but will have to carry on tomorrow - many of the comments are also relatable.
Heck yeah I'm feeling those vibes this year!!!
You make At Dusk sound so delectable!

Thank you and it's a fab year for you to "roar" 😁. My sister is a tiger too and just launched a new business venue 👌
Great video, from a 🐍 I'll definitely be shedding some books and have ordered 'An Unnecessary Woman'.
Thanks, Suzanne 😊. An Unnecessary Woman is one of the books I've most been looking forward to reading this year.
LOVE this!! I’m a pig and very much about choosing joy! Thanks for putting this together.
Glad you enjoyed it! A bit different from my usual videos 😊
Thank you so much Katja for the shoutout! This is a great video! 🥰
You're welcome, Kim - and thank you 💛✨️

@@PageTurnersWithKatja No, but I'm seeing the photos now are from Ventura County, which is one county closer...

🌎 🐑!!
What are you? 😊
@@PageTurnersWithKatja I don't know where the earth part comes from, but I'm a rooster :)
1981 gold rooster, 1993 water rooster (every 12 years it goes gold, water, wood, fire and earth) 😊
@@PageTurnersWithKatja Ahhh, well then I'm the gold rooster! May explain why I can only where pure gold in my ears?? :P
The snake probably went after the rabbit, so whose hole is it really?? 😂
I hadn't thought of that! Clever 😂
Get disciplined??!! 🐓Oh no...😱🫨🫢 Heheh, anyway I'm excited to see what the new year will bring 🥰
