I've had an Aaron Cain duel commander box for several years now and it's always been met with awe and fascination. The box is still in pristine working order as well. I will always recommend Aaron Cain.
Aaron Cain does amazing work. When I moved out to college, all of my friends decided to only keep one EDH deck. I gave them each a windowed deck box from Aaron Cain, and they all said that it meant a ton to them. They still use the same box and say it still works great.
I'm a huge fan (and owner) of Broken Token for fine wood custom item, but Spartan offers a brillient solution for storing your beloved cube. Spending $1/200 on a high cube value storage solution. It's more than just storage, it's style. And it's luxurious. Thanks for featuring a nice wooden solution.
Hey Professor, just wanted to say i love your videos. These product exhibition videos are satisfying and soothing, and I'm very happy that your version of them is still in my feed :)
I love that you are showcasing 3 great products with potentially different target customers. I love when you can be positive about everything in a video. Just feels good, y'know!
I'm digging the product reviews! Great review on the products and definitely make the review more engaging by adding some personality 😁👍 I usually use an Ammo tin to transport multiple deck boxes and a cruise box for mass storage of retired card game materials. (Granted my card gaming storage was acquired from my time in the military, so not sure it's as readily available for general populace)
Hey professor, I really appreciate your product review series. I feel it's a part of the hobby that's somewhat underrepresented though of huge importance. I've personally relied heavily on your sleeve reviews and been checking your reviews for options in lugging all my stuff around (my playmat needs containing). That being said, could you offer any insight at all for display options? I'm sure that the idea of displaying cards rather than playing with them is an anathema for many players but I have certain cards that hold a lot of value for me (both sentimental and monetary) and it has been annoying trying to find a solution that satisfies my OCD in wanting to both protect and have a pleasing display option for them.
I’m actually really happy you made this video. I’m currently building a cube and really need a secure way to store it. Edit: I like that Dex Carrying case. I almost bought the quiver but I felt it was too big. This one looks really neat I might actually purchase it since my cube is small.
I first used a MTG Gift Box to hold my entire cube with all the basic lands, tokens, and even some boxes of dice. It was great and got the job done, but it’s not the best for transporting since it’s a cardboard box. The corners scuff up and the lid doesn’t stay shut. So I’ve moved it to two Stack’N’Safes, one for the cube itself, and the other for lands, tokens, and dice. The convenient thing about this is that now with any other cubes I make in the future, I just have to sleeve it in the same sleeves so the Stack’N’Safe with the basic lands will be compatible, eliminating the need to buy more lands and sleeves for any more cubes I’ll make later on.
I definitely want to thank you for reviewing the CK starter cube. It doesn’t have ridiculous power, but there have been some great games and it’s fun to watch them change their offering with each iteration. I keep mine sleeved in dragon shields in a cardboard bcw box...:( yeah
That first vault is just the old case for games workshop miniatures with a logo stamped on it. I've had one one since 2004. It does make a great deck holder/cube tote though so Professor's not wrong. =]
hey professor I just wanted to thank you I'm pretty new to your channel the first video I watched was when you reviewed the Stanley compartment box and I just picked mine up best $15 investment into my cards ever!
For people on a REALLY restricted budget, I recommend going to a Home Depot or Other hardware store near you and asking for the Stanley small parts organizer or equivalent. Bring a sleeved card and typical deck box with you. It costs between $15 - $21 and has compartments inside for loose dice, counters, etc. I have been using one since 2003. Husky, Ridgid, Plano, and others are competitively priced. It weighs about 1-2 lbs. I have not tried it for cubes, but it ought to fit one.
These are nice. I like the first one, as my main issue is, I have about 3 commander size decks and about 20 decks that range about 60-70 cards. So traveling with them all is hard with no container to hold them all
I have a custom cube box by Aaron Cain, made from purpleheart wood, and it is awesome. I have it on display in our dining room when not in use, highly recommended.
@@altered_beast_of_burden I kept it simple, the purpleheart is an amazing colour so really wanted to just let that shine. I did however get matching pink sleeves for the cube!
After watching your videos I sleeve my Yu-Gi-Oh! cards with KMC perfect mini, hypermat mini, custom character guards. Outer sleeves regular size than I put inside a top loader and cover with a plastic wrap

Probably a box. That way when your cube is done, you’re ready to go. Rather than having a cube without a box. Even if you decide to not continue with your cube, you can still use the box to store various cards, deck boxes, tokens, etc.
Honestly, I would recommend planning your cube(size), then get the box(and sleeves), then make the cube. This makes it so you're not adding additional cards etc too, which to me is a problem!

And every land base is exactly the same (Aside form colors they produce. I am letting the decks have fetches and duals.)
Ifyou want a budget cube box like Aaron’s, go to a wine shop and ask for a gift box. It looks exactly like the Aaron boxes. Next carve out grooves for dividers. Lastly apply Varnish to make it smooth inside. The plastic dividers from the Mtg gift box works great as dividers. If I have time, I’ll upload a picture of it. Takes less than an hour of work
Prof, do you sleeve your Dominion cards? And even if not, what sleeves and storage boxes do you recommend if someone would like to do? At this time I think Fantasy Flight sleeves is a solid pick even if that doubles the price. But after sleeving I need to find a new storage option, because the cards don't fit in the divison if the original box. Are there any reasonable options to protect my cardboard?
Any experts on archival storage here? Does the acid in the wooden box pose a long-term risk to double-sleeved cards? Or are the sleeves sufficient protection?
You'll want a stable wood, usually some hardwood like what most specialty custom wood deck box creators use. Hello! My name is Kyle. I’m a longtime fan of your channel and an avid gamer. Over the last year I have started playing a TCG that I have fallen in love with and I want to ask if you might be able to give the game a look and just talk somewhere about your opinion on the game. I’m sure you’re a very busy person and don’t have much time but it would mean a lot for me and all the other people who love this game and want to see it grow. It’s called Universal Fighting System. The concept of the game is that you take moves, skills and weapons from various fighters in video games, comics, anime and specifically fighting games and you use moves from all of them to create the perfect version of your fighter. In this game you get to see battles like Nightmare (SC6) VS Spike (Cowboy Beebop) or Dr. Wily (Megaman) VS Deku (My Hero Academia). The game is currently being developed by Jasco games. It’s not a new game by any means but it has seen a big resurgence over the last couple years. It’s starting to get tons of really new and interesting licenses but because of the stigma to the game from the previous ownership and just it being a fairly small game despite the dedicated fan base it is just missing that one push or endorsement it needs to draw in a really big crowd like vanguard, Pokémon or MTG can. You had me at "...or boulders..."
But what about 90 card Winston draft cubes?
I don't really understand the praise for the Dex Protection case. If it holds 25 Cubamajig packs then there's no extra room for basic lands, let alone tokens and so on. How can a cube case have even a passing grade when you can't transport basics?
Professor pls make a video about the best card shuffler for mtg cards... I hate to shuffle my commander deck. It's too many cards to shuffle. it fell off my hand and scatter all over the table!
Incredible video
I use a military grade Pelican case filled with fatpack inners and it holds my cube perfectly
These are great, but I like my BCW cardboard boxes for my cubes because I can decorate them easily with my own artwork.
where to buy that cube vault?
The soft edges on the dex protection one make me cringe a little
These are great, but I think the good old Stanley toolbox is a hard value to beat prof.
Professor being oddly specific wonder if there is a story behind that Chevrolet incident joke
@Tolarian Community College Hey Prof, think it's time we get an update? There are enough new entries to warrant another video.
I wish I could fire my cube more often. I haven’t bothered to update it since Kaladesh.
I'm using the KakaPopo briefcase to keep my large Cube.
I am a begginer at magic can you professor help me on how to start the game. I have bought a Sephra Sky blade structure deck and a white only 35 card pack so uhh thats a start i gues?
You are amazing prof
