Good to see the Louisville working. I drove our 94L8000 with 8.3 Cummins fuel truck all this week due to the newer stuff being broke down as usual. The old Ford ran better than a new truck. No electronics, no def, Manuel transmission. My favorite way to work.
@@MichiganDiesel exactly right. The only thing electronic on it is the meter simply because the mechanical ones made now are garbage. L.C. (Liquid Controls) is a excellent and very simple to use meter system that works great and is reliable.
I'm giving you a hard time by saying this, but come on man.... you didn't empty an entire tube of grease onto the fifth wheel?!? What's wrong with you? 😂😂😂 I swear the shop uses an entire tube when they pm our trucks. They are liberally coated and at least 2/3rds of it scrapes off in the first 4 trips. Keep up the great work!
I used to notice at a company I once worked in that the apprentice mechanics in our workshop would literally cover the 5th wheel in grease. If I wanted to ice a cake, I'd ask them.
@@MichiganDiesel Thank you for your response. That's a good engine, easy to turn up the power (fuel) and RPM . I put a lot of miles on a big cam 290. Was able to get 5.5 MPG easy.
The 290 Cummins was a good engine in it's time. I like the super singles on the front. A truckie told me those bigger wheels are harder on the king pins but I don't reckon. Depends who the driver is.
@@andrewking4885 I don't know about the bigger tires being harder on the king pins. The wider tires can handle heavier weights, so that could be harder on the king pins.

Nice 👍
It’s so nice to have no computers!

This is glorious to watch!
Great video...never get tired of seeing old iron doing its thing.
I love seeing this older equipment back on the road!
It’s fun to bring them back to life. I’m hauling asphalt today with my l9000 dump truck.
Love that 9000 Ford ♥️ Keep her in the wind.👍💯🇺🇸❤️
Yes sir! Will do!
Very nostalgia brings back memories
She pulled it like a champ with little trouble.
Oh yeah! I was pleased with how it did. I appreciate you watching!
Balance the front wheels will do the job with this beauty
The engine sounds like a train coming down the tracks!
I bet that air ride feels great
Yes! It was a good upgrade!
Nice 👍
Gee that truck is in great shape and only looks like it’s 5 years old. What is the powertrain?
Its definitely not perfect. 290 big cam with a 10 speed transmission.
@@MichiganDiesel Same engine as a 'B' Series ERF ,the E290 Clessie Cummins twirling a' Bakers Dozen of Mr Fullers singing gears.

Haha yup! I have seen that before 👍
Thanks for watching

That old Ford seemed to run okay, is that a NTC Cummins?
I just noticed that there are no squeaks or rattles on the ol’ Ford
Oh yeah! It runs down the road pretty good.
Seems like a pretty decent truck, what engine does it have?
290 big cam Cummins

1 thing I can see: Plenty of cab space.
No light check ?
No tug test to make sure the king pin is locked and the parking brakes are good on the trailer
I did all that but I didn’t video it. Thanks for watching👍
Yeehaw
315 Cummins🤔
