A little off topic, but I noticed in today's video when you were opening the door for Tom to drive thru with the forklift that .. Mel, you look fantastic! I wondered if I was imagining it, so I dug thru the page to when you were working in your shed in your backyard, and what a difference. You look like you are healthier and happier than you have been in years. Seriously, I'm sure it's good food, good habits, and working full time around those heavy books - a built in workout, but whatever it is, you look great. My best to you and your family.

Mel the Westerns put a huge smile on my face. 2 months ago my facer passed away and had over 6 thousand Western books. We did something a little crazy with some of them and everyone that attended his funeral was given a book. It was so good, people thought it was really cool as he was always reading.☺🤣

What a nice idea. People will think of your Dad when they read the book. I should have done that when my Mom passed. She worked in the local library and she always had a book in her hand.

Hi Mel - I was looking for my 1979 school year book (paid $30) and it got sent from over east (I’m in WA!) the first place I looked was eBay! Usually look on marketplace for furniture only! Great videos lately, love seeing your books - being back so many memories!! I keep saying I’ve got to stop buying myself books - so I buy for my grandies 😝😆🤣

You have to grab 'em when they're available. It never stops. That's the nature of the business. I used to sell old postcards, and it was the same thing. Big difference in size, though. I had over 10k of them, and was able to have them in one room at home!

I love slow cooker recipes. Particularly in winter, when I can preset it to start at a certain time. And I like the cooker in summer because it doesn't heat the kitchen up. Always double the recipe and then stash to individual meals that can be frozen.

How many crates have you already emptied? I would say maybe 5 or 6. That is amazing. Don't forget drink your water, eat food and rest when your body tells you to. Sending hugs from sunny but chilly Spain xxx

Those kids books .... make sure you look up each one individually before bundling, especially the older ones, I've sold alot as had a big haul, and you'll be surprised at what some individual ones can go for, I've learnt a lot now and am always checking the children's section for the ones that are worth more. You'll look at kid's books differently after sorting a huge amount 😆 ... I never thought there was much money in them...

In theory, once you have reached capacity in terms of # of books that can be stored in your warehouse and # of books she can list and ship in a single day. Even then, if you are selling consistently, you still have to go out to source to replenish what you have sold. So, realistically, you never stop.

I would desperately love to get another copy, but I'm in NSW now and if I was looking I'd look to Ebay.

Also read allot of Luis Lamour and Zane Grey books as a kid. By the way, the S is silent in Luis. 😊

May I recommend a 36-inch Commercial Janitorial Dust Broom- ONE SWIPE AND YOUR LANE IS DONE! No more sweeping dust in the air.

Yet another thing you have taught me… I never knew “organizing” was spelled “organising” in British English!!! Is there no end to your value as a teacher and a mentor?!??!😉

I wouldn't be able to sit with those metal cages unsorted for so long, I would have pulled out the books to do a rough/preliminary sorting - maybe get the daughter to help with it ... children books, cooking books, gardening books, sport books, magazines, other (fantasy, historical etc) , at same time you could have different stacks based on width / height of each book to make it easier to put them in cardboard boxes or tubs once there's enough books of a particular category... you have that whole room in the back you're not using, you could put tubs or cardboard boxes there until you get to them.... you also have that whole back of the warehouse where the door is where you could stack boxes. Also once cages are emptied your boyfriend can pull them out and you can place tubs and boxes or temporary shelves where the cage was along the side wall.

I didn't know there were Bananas in Pyjamas books or that it was Australian. it was one of my favorite shows growing up and watched it in Spanish-language. I would want to buy one book just for nostalgia reasons 😊

I think you should find two sophomore girls from a local HS that can come out after school and take pictures for you. Once they get good at that you can have them do other things. Make it an internship to start and then you can pay them if they work out. Here in the US our kids need clubs, activities all through HS to make the college application look competitive.

Hi Mel, really enjoyed your video today. Just a thought, it almost feels like you could fit another small bench on each end of your sorting table and that would give you more surface space and under shelves space too.
