I recently discovered your channel, and enjoy how you control your lifestyle. Some of my most endearing memories is of staying with my mother in a small cozy trailer when I was a young teenager. Thank you for the memories of those days.
You are a hard worker and all your efforts have blessed you with a comfortable home. I agree, the old fridge was dangerous and getting rid of it is the right thing to do. You may be able to extend your water usage into the beginning of Winter by purchasing a low wattage insulated heat coil that either wraps around your 1000 liter water tank or hangs directly in the tank and keeps the water from freezing. I have used the internal ones to keep my tanks of water curing concrete cylinders for testing by maintaining 77 degrees F* in outdoor labs for years (1985 to 2014) and never had a problem. I lived in a condo one time where the kitchen plumbing was in the thinly designed front wall. I bought a insulated wrapped low wattage coil to wrap around the pipes and that helped in a Winter of where temps went down to 10 degrees F* (one of the coldest Winters I have ever experienced in N.C.). Cold enough to rupture the waterline in the back wall and flood the living room. Because of the low wattage draw you could probably run it off of the Eco Flow or Jackary generators. Just a thought, you know better. Have a great week! Rob and Layla.
Thanks Rob. I think the biggest issue I have is the multiple water lines that run along my floor and behind cupboards that don't see the heat from my woodstove so I usually don't chance it as having a pipe or water bust would be a nightmare lol. I just suck it up for 4 months or so I guess. Hope you and Layla are having a wonderful Sunday!
Hi Jenna ! Just found your channel and I love it. Been watching all your back videos and I really admire your strength and pure Canadian humor. Stay safe and well. I also love your two handsome room mates. Watching from South Eastern Ontario 🇨🇦
Good Day Ms. Jenna. I said many a Time GREAT VIDEOS, Love the Cat's 😊. Jenna Personal opinion, Your chanel is great Mostly because of You,!! Girl Your a Real down to Earth Lady ❤ !! Keep well Girl ......
A good thing about all the work you have to put into Off Grid Life, it keeps you close to all the processes, equipment and there functions that keep you alive on a daily basis. Great job letting us share in your adventure. Thank you, Steve
Great to have a heating option, my fav is wood burner. Now I know where bed head comes from. Roary has a great shine on his coat. Don't forget to bring in the water ⛲ fountain for you know who 😊
My Truck 3/4 GMC is 44 years old, in good mechanical condition but the body shows the age. I bought it used while living in Nevada and I moved back home to Houston for 3 years and it started rusting along the doors and other areas. I guess the no humidity in Nevada helped preserve the Truck a very long time. I won't ever buy a new vehicle again but if I were going to buy a Truck it would be another GMC or Chevrolet which are the same of course. You mentioned that ice box again and if it were totally electric there has to be a resistor on the ammonia tube that heats the tube and moves the ammonia. Now if you can see one you can test it with a multi meter and just see if the resistor is opened. If it is opened you have a very easy repair to get it working again and you could keep it for a back up just running it a few hours every now and then to keep the ammonia circulating as it should. The thermostat in the ice box should control the resistor cycling, or on and off.
I really enjoy watching independent, self-sufficient women living like this. I'm still a single person because all the women I dated were not so self-sufficient. I just stumbled on your channel, but will be subscribing. Keep up the good work.
always makes me happy when I watch your videos, love the way you solve problems and as a former fishing guide you handle a bait caster real exceptionally well.
She would have to mount it higher than the trees, then figure out tie downs. Then the maintenance on them is horrible. Money better spent on more solar and batteries.
Yes it's worth it in the end. The key to being a really good procrastinator is to overdo things when you're doing so you have more time to goof off before you have to do it again 😎 It's far easier to drain a full water tank before a freeze than to have to refill it because it didn't freeze like you expected it do so you're definitely getting it right. Same with getting rid of the old fridge instead of trying to fix it; if it's gone you both have a bit more money and more space. Maybe the truck battery just needs a good slow charge- I'd try that before replacing it. Maybe plug it in at a family member's place to save your power. L/A batteries don't like being charged too fast the way an alternator in a vehicle does; often they build up a resistance to charging at the high levels over time but will still accept a slow charge at 2 amps and last awhile longer once they're topped off that way. Don't know for sure but several sources have told me car battery prices have gone WAY up in the last year 😮 Wouldn't surprise me given the high costs of other car parts lately. Still slogging through here making zero progress, and wishing I had the ability of my younger years to help. It is what it is and it could be worse. When you have to you do, even when you think you can't, so I'll manage to get through. Tomorrow can be better so hopefully it will be for everyoe😀
Hello Jenna, Oh, I'm sorry you're not feeling well. It sucks when you're not feeling up to doing things that need to be done and you need rest but power through and get it done. It would be wonderful if winter holds off and you can use your water until mid-December. Here's hoping! Ramsey was nice to wait patiently for his fountain. It's funny that Ramsey loves the fountain but Rory fears it. 😊 Your wood pile is looking good, I hope your back is okay unloading and stacking all that wood. Your family member's heart was in the right place helping you with the wood but I guess he or she didn't know their own strength. Yea, that battery in the truck is pretty well shot if it won't even start with a jump. Let's hope it's not the alternator. I hope I didn't jinx it. Yes, I think maybe getting rid of the old fridge may be a good idea. I know you have put a good deal of money into it but it's better to be safe than sorry. Your cashew meal looked tasty and meal prepping ahead is always a good idea if you have the time. Ramsey said he helps out by cleaning the spoons.😊 He says he earns his keep but Rory on the other hand??? I think Ramsey is still feeling a little salty having to wait for his fountain. 😅 Anyway, I hope you get to feeling better and please try to get some rest when you can. I know it's nearly impossible to do that when you have to do everything yourself ( Yes .. I'm looking at you Ramsey and Rory) but rest is important too. Please don't hurt your back. Take care, be well and have a Happy Halloween 🎃👻.-----Steve.
Crack up I was just saying there better be a pin in there. Smart move on getting rid of your refreg. Plus you have all the changes you did in that cubby hole. Glad to see the firewood moving in.Well done, Jenna see you on the next one.
The catio is a rec common area Him Rorey can take his fears elsewhere for fountain time. it's nice to see water drain out of the charge port of stuff meant to be outside. By the time you feel a spidersweb on your cheek there is a spider on you somewhere. those clear barrels you could see through for water level. Not the blue ones. nope you're so pretty Jen.
I live like you do. Off grid in a toy hauler with wood stove. I have a bit more solar than you have though. Today is the first snow for the winter. Time for temps to dip way down and stay white for the next 5 months. Water is hauled and hope it doesnt freeze. Living in summer is different than winter time. The cold is here to stay all winter.
Hey Sunshine, I put all my internet stuff modem router etc on a power bar and just switch it off when not using. easier than plugging and unplugging just a thought. keep on keeping on !!
Kewl episode. I'm going to try and send a picture of my RV and car that are really cool they're the same color😊 and good job it's a lot of hard work really good job
Typically trucks like that are rarely used so it may be just needing a good charge put on it. Also, if you can check the water in the battery before you charge it.
It sure is getting chilly fast, seen a little hail fall at my camp this morning 🥶 that sucks about the window, something to laugh at later. Hope you get better soon, sending well wishes ❤❤
I have had great success with inexpensive battery tenders, my lead acid batteries last twice as long as before and are always ready to start. Since the farm truck doesn't put on any highway mileage it's battery may not get a chance at a full charge. You can get the 120V battery tender versions or powered by a solar panel that you can leave on the vehicle dashboard. Some plug directly into cigarette lighter outlets but note on some vehicles the cigarette lighter outlet is only connected to the battery when the ignition is on so check that. I definitely recommend the use of battery tenders for vehicles and batteries that are only used occasionally.
I am in Alabama and it's quite warm here at the moment but the cool from up there is creeping down here . I love watching you explain things and show all the hard work you put into living there . I am impressed . Have a nice rest Jenna and stay beautiful :) 🤗❣
Beautiful country.....I've watched a handful of your videos in the past and glad your debt free and doing well....my photo is with our Maine Coon cat ..Moose was 16 years old when we said our goodbyes.....but yes....they do cause a little work....we currently have a female Tuxedo cat....Bella was abandoned and came onto our property a year ago...well ...take care and keep the videos coming...I will catch up with some of your past videos.....
Hi Jenna, Rory 🐈⬛ and Ramsey 🐈👋🏻 Always great to hear from you my friends! Stay safe and take care 🙏🏻 God Bless 🫶🏻 Appreciate you always! Feel better Jenna🙏🏻
Hey Jenna, just a thought but considering the change of season and sun angle maybe using the portable solar panel for supplemental charging of the Ecoflow may be helpful as you can put it where the sun is best. Thanks for another great video. Stay warm.
I just added another array to make up for shade . Last year we had 30 days no sun in Dec/ Jan. Today I have a abundance. I spent a fortune on batteries to.
@@gypsyjenna I have to see a word in context at least once in order to spell it, you can imagine a much younger me when I figured out rendezvous wasn't pronounced "ren-dezz-voose" and then it's meaning. Lol self taught, just had to sort out my own education after 9th grade kinda like ricky from trailer park boys. 😆 beautiful kitties nonetheless, I sent this video to my wife and that's the first thing she said was your fur babies were cute. We have six rug demons of our own... two of which are fountain hoarders themselves.❤️ 😺
You make me feel guilty for having a natural gas heater and well water. Ok I'm over it but it really makes me appreciate having those conveniences.I was so done with that wood burning thing. Anyway it makes for good viewing.
If you don’t mind me asking what type of work do you do. I really enjoy your videos. You remind me of me when I was younger I still live on a farm and enjoy the out doors gardening and flowers and livestock. And getting ready to put in a wood stove And working on a 1930 farm house every day some thing new to fix
Dear Jenna, life happens to You, that's for sure! I wanted to save myself headache and made my offgrid setting without hundreds of electrical appliances.❤❤❤❤
I live in PA. Always try to not turn on the furnace till Thanksgiving day. As long as night time temps aren't 40 degrees or less, I won't turn it on. Got to save that tank of oil. I have a space heater for my bathroom so I can get dressed in the warmth. You do what you have to do to make that pay check stretch.
Hi Jenna, your lucky if you don't need to winterize untill end of Nov. Mid Nov. is usually max for me. Figure once the forcast is steady near freezing it's time as I'm not at camp all the time. Need to get home & catch some football you know 🏈.
I see another new solar panel sitting in the background of the shed, future project? I bought a couple of those pocket pumps a few weeks ago. One like yours, and a second that just shoves in the tank. Did you know that the little do-hoppy thing-a-ma-bob on the side of the pump is a hang up holder for the nozzle? Mine also came with a loop thingy that you use to hold the handle in the on position. Super handy, unless you have more fuel to pump than room for it to go into. Then, it's kinda less handy 😛 Hope you're feeling better. Your alcohol levels must be too low. You have to keep them up so that it kills all germs in your system 😜 Today I'm going to get out my diesel heater and see about hooking it up. Using the propane furnace in this place is NOT efficient at all! I'm going through 30lb of propane in about 6 days. Also, I want at LEAST 2 heating options available at all times. I'm planning on putting a small, temporary entry way onto the front of my trailer for this winter, and putting a small woodstove in there. I CAN'T WAIT to have a woodstove.
Wood stove will help big time! Always an excellent idea to have multiple sources of heat too! I hope the install goes well! I wanted a mud room off my front door but maybe one day I can get around to that. Yeah those furnaces aren't the most efficient. The solar panel was purchased with intention of putting it on the roof at my family camp (that's off grid) but my cousin says he is putting one of his larger ones up there so it's been sitting in my shed ever since lol
@@gypsyjenna - That was a good idea for the solar panel. I guess you'll have to come up with another project for it now then. Would hate for a perfectly good panel to go to waste lol. Anyways, I hope you're feeling better. Also, I hope your hopes of not having to winterize for another month come true, because I'm not ready for steady freezing temps yet either lol. Have a great day Jenna
@colin8532 thanks Colin, I hope the same for you up there as well. I heard we were supposed to get mildish temps right through Nov so here's hoping! Yeah not sure about that solar panel yet, for now I guess it will just take up space in the shed like many other things 😅
I'm thinkin you need to give us your bosses number so we all can tell him how hard you are capable of working...😂😂😂. I'm also doing the wood stocking for winter for my Dwarf 4kw woodstove....but mine are only 9 inches long. Props to ya....wood dutys are tough on ya! Glad to see you are letting the leaves help insulate the skirting for ROCKY and helping to keep his house shed warmer..😂😂😂😂😂. Good job...God Bless....Stay Safe P.S. The .."Hair style from going to bed with wet hair" was funny..... ya nut!
If you have gravely or sandy soil where you are you can drive a sand point for around $300 so you won't have to lug water anymore. In the valley tons of people have them instead of a well.
Was that a propane fridge/freezer..? We have one at our family camp on Spectacle Pond, along with the stove and propane lights. Lights are kind of a back up since we have a generator.
Thanks for the conversation to F from C. 😁 Nice fluffy hairstyles 🙂 Dang, dinner sounds delicious 😋 Truck not starting could be: Bad battery, not run long enough to keep the battery charged (no trickle charger), bad alternator, corroded or loose connections to the battery. ps. Scary 🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇
Yard Truck Battery: If it's 3 yrs. old or more, it's probably toast. Still, you might try removing the battery and putting a charge on it. It might take the charge and let you get the truck to a better place to park it. If the battery takes a charge and starts the truck easily, you might want to have your charging system checked out.
This Xmas, ask for a leaf blower and the portable lithium battery jump starter. I use the leaf blower to blow off dust, spider webs, and mock on the refrigerator, crumbs in the toaster, sawdust.
Sorry Sunshine, but since we live alot alike another upgrade you may want to research is an upgrade to your diesel heater fuel tank.... you can plumb an existing jerry can or any 5 gallon ish container to your heater so you don't have to re fill so often !!!
like the wild hair look 👍 having a home does keep you moving. the 60 foot 5 foot base multi tree i cut down during high winds that bumped the front 🏡 kept me busy on roof repairs the last 2 days. cant tell it ever hit now 😁 our pickup truck has been starting slow too.. but its a 1992 chevy so... water is one of my chores too. the well died.. dec 26th 2020 i hand pulled up 80 feet of schedule 40 pipe 1& 1/2 round.. VERY HEAVY. it runs off air pumps since 👍 winter is coming.. not sure of a diesel heater? i need to figure out some added heat 🤔 you do really well keeping up on things there 👍👍 i need to get our solar panels up just in time for the sun to hide across the street... lol
Enjoyed your video. Living off grid looks like hard work..Without saying the name of the company or any details about your job, what type of work do you do? If I would take a bet, I would think that you work outside....just a guess, lol....Enjoy the autumn weather...We'll be looking forward into the next video...
Pretty awesome being able to see how much solar power you're producing. I have the mt50 as well, but I recently upgraded to the wifi app, so I can keep an eye on the power while I'm at work as well. I check it a few times in the morning till I know the batteries are topped off
If possible id build a building on the outide of the rv n put the woodstove in it. Insulated of course. Throw some indoor outdoir carpet maybe some second hand rugs if u can find any in second hand places. Then u have more room. Id even put a few used rv windows or house ones someones givin away n maybe you can close your batteries in with the build too. I used to rent an rv like yours n it had tat attaced but was propane heat which sucked. I used main trailer for sleepin n cooking. The build on was my livin room ect n heat. Wish i had a stove n that pption. However my daughters friend said i can bring rv there n put a roof above like u. Id need a geni rigt away n a woodstove. Im so not prepared n the batteries both are dead lol. Im not sure if i should let this place go over winter or wait till summer.

Much love goin out to you and Ramsey and Roary.❤
Not sure if I spelled roary correctly 😂
All good, haha
Ramsay and Rory 🙃🐱🐈⬛
@@gypsyjenna I have to see a word in context at least once in order to spell it, you can imagine a much younger me when I figured out rendezvous wasn't pronounced "ren-dezz-voose" and then it's meaning. Lol self taught, just had to sort out my own education after 9th grade kinda like ricky from trailer park boys. 😆 beautiful kitties nonetheless, I sent this video to my wife and that's the first thing she said was your fur babies were cute. We have six rug demons of our own... two of which are fountain hoarders themselves.❤️ 😺
@moosehand8721 rig demons, haha, that's one I haven't heard!
You and your cats convos cracks me up.

This has been a crazy warm autumn. I hope that doesn't mean a crazy cold winter!! Another great video, Jenna!
Hope not! 🤞🤞
You make me feel guilty for having a natural gas heater and well water. Ok I'm over it but it really makes me appreciate having those conveniences.I was so done with that wood burning thing. Anyway it makes for good viewing.
Totally fun to watch you everytime, doing everything, in every way.
Awe thank you, Happy Sunday! 🙂
I don’t see the point for raking leaves either and also I think they are beautiful on the ground. Makes me sad when ppl rake them up
So happy to see a new video from you. Bad hair or not you are a very attractive lady.
Sounds like a lot of work but I'm sure it will be worth it!
Your videos were randomly recommended to me so i was surprised to see you’re from NS as I’m from there too. Love the videos! ❤
Dear Jenna, life happens to You, that's for sure! I wanted to save myself headache and made my offgrid setting without hundreds of electrical appliances.❤❤❤❤
Greetings it's your regular viewer from oakville Ontario thanks for the presentation and enjoy the rest of the day bye for now
Greetings from oakville Ontario thanks for the presentation and enjoy the rest of the weekend looking forward to seeing your next video take care 😊
I hope you get until later in the year and I am just keeping my eye on the forecast and hoping I make it until then 🤞🤞
Stumbled across your channel, now I'm hooked! Good content on real life.
Mr Squirrel: I see we’re redecorating ❤
😅
I see another new solar panel sitting in the background of the shed, future project?
I bought a couple of those pocket pumps a few weeks ago. One like yours, and a second that just shoves in the tank. Did you know that the little do-hoppy thing-a-ma-bob on the side of the pump is a hang up holder for the nozzle? Mine also came with a loop thingy that you use to hold the handle in the on position. Super handy, unless you have more fuel to pump than room for it to go into. Then, it's kinda less handy 😛
Hope you're feeling better. Your alcohol levels must be too low. You have to keep them up so that it kills all germs in your system 😜
Today I'm going to get out my diesel heater and see about hooking it up.
Good job...God Bless....Stay Safe
P.S. The .."Hair style from going to bed with wet hair" was funny..... ya nut!
If you have gravely or sandy soil where you are you can drive a sand point for around $300 so you won't have to lug water anymore. In the valley tons of people have them instead of a well.
Interesting, I will look into this!
Was that a propane fridge/freezer..?
We have one at our family camp on Spectacle Pond, along with the stove and propane lights.
Lights are kind of a back up since we have a generator.
Thanks for sharing another interesting day in your life. I’m surprised that the Starlink works despite the trees.
work never ends keep up the challenge
Thanks for the conversation to F from C. 😁
Nice fluffy hairstyles 🙂
Dang, dinner sounds delicious 😋
Truck not starting could be: Bad battery, not run long enough to keep the battery charged (no trickle charger), bad alternator, corroded or loose connections to the battery.
ps. Scary 🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇
I think that your hair looks fabulous 😊
Hi Jenna! Love your videos.
I’m glad you have source of heat. So cold. ❤❤
Put a tarp up from bottom of hoop house to half way up door. Kinda reverse of normal. It’ll keep on leaves and let in plenty of air to dry out wood.
Keep out leaves..lol
This Xmas, ask for a leaf blower and the portable lithium battery jump starter.
I use the leaf blower to blow off dust, spider webs, and mock on the refrigerator, crumbs in the toaster, sawdust.
Leaf blower would be handy for sure
I didn't realize you folks up in Canada have a Thanksgiving, and it's in October, how cool!
Sorry Sunshine, but since we live alot alike another upgrade you may want to research is an upgrade to your diesel heater fuel tank.... you can plumb an existing jerry can or any 5 gallon ish container to your heater so you don't have to re fill so often !!!
like the wild hair look 👍
having a home does keep you moving. the 60 foot 5 foot base multi tree i cut down during high winds that bumped the front 🏡 kept me busy on roof repairs the last 2 days. cant tell it ever hit now 😁
our pickup truck has been starting slow too.. but its a 1992 chevy so...
water is one of my chores too. the well died.. dec 26th 2020 i hand pulled up 80 feet of schedule 40 pipe 1& 1/2 round.. VERY HEAVY. it runs off air pumps since 👍
winter is coming.. not sure of a diesel heater? i need to figure out some added heat 🤔
you do really well keeping up on things there 👍👍
i need to get our solar panels up just in time for the sun to hide across the street... lol
Glad to hear you managed getting your house repairs completed!
Enjoyed your video. Living off grid looks like hard work..Without saying the name of the company or any details about your job, what type of work do you do? If I would take a bet, I would think that you work outside....just a guess, lol....Enjoy the autumn weather...We'll be looking forward into the next video...
Used to work outside! I miss it until the Winter comes! 😅
I am glade to see your new video thank you and God bless you amen
Enjoying your videos, wont be long and winter will be here.
Pretty awesome being able to see how much solar power you're producing. I have the mt50 as well, but I recently upgraded to the wifi app, so I can keep an eye on the power while I'm at work as well. I check it a few times in the morning till I know the batteries are topped off
Awesome good idea!
Saw another one of your videos. I am learning more. Sorry about the answers. I will learn more.
I’m getting ready too, having the water not freeze is an issue
