11 years later and I found this video inspiring. I hope you have come back to Kenya, Mr Oswald. Today, very few Kenyans pay anything in cash, even in remote areas, in fact, its cheaper to pay through mobile money, MPesa than withdrawing the cash and then paying. Bank to mobile phones transfers are free... We don't say it but we are a truly cashless society. Again, necessity is the mother of all innovations.
I'm not so happy about this. I've NEVER owned a Safcon (pun intended) number and everyone thinks I'm a con for that. I use Airtelmoney a lot, though it does not have many agents. Ideal situation would be a mobile money base that is NOT dominated by one very greedy telco.
Im watching this in 2020 at a time which everyone in Kenya is using M-pesa for every payment to avoid infections, due to covid19. Kenya my mother land has many innovative minds . This is our own innovation. I'm proud to be a Kenyan, land of smart people ❤️🇰🇪🇰🇪

One time we had a trainer who flew from Germany to Kenya to train us and I offered to show her around town after training . She couldn't believe that I had in fact paid for our uber via my mobile phone. She was even more excited when I gave her my phone to do the transaction herself of paying for our bill at the bar . Richard Wambua I don't think he meant scared in the literal sense. He is Austrian and English is not his first language. More like he meant 'amazing, unexpected, surprising'.
He was making reference to the abundance of resources that Austria has which seems to damp innovation. he raised it as a point of concern...maybe his wording could have been different, but I hope you got the general sentiment.

You will never be the best at everything. Its called the Power of sharing.
He is not scared at all. He just reemphasised on what the others countries have taken so lightly despite their immense array of resources.
liar...there was no British guy involved in creation of m-pesa...always taking credit away from Africa......
M-PESA was invented by a student in JOMO KENYATTA UNIVERSITY. It was his project and business idea .
@@ianruto8047 they stole his idea.... He was the genius behind it. Kenyan student

The British guy is John
Proud to be Kenyan....there are many innovative and creative ideas there its only that we dont have a platform to share them ...secondly its quite expensive to patent such innovative ideas and finally you willl find the rich taking your idea using it for his gain
