Brittany you are fabulous. You have a real knack for these tutorials and they are so well done. And, of course, the garment(s)! Always so pretty and well fitting. Great work!! Love your jumpsuit.😃
U r a good teacher 👍, I've been sewing forever and a day, love watching. I learned to sew on the antique seeing machine, with the foot petal ,no electricity, wish I still had that machine.👍🏾😉
I’ve had this pattern for a while. Feeling ready to make this after watching your video. I’m glad to have this tutorial to reference if I get stuff along the way! Thanks!
This is an adorable, flattering look. I'm really inspired to give this a try. Thanks for sharing about how you modified the pattern to fit you better. And thanks for giving such in depth views of the zipper and facing attachment. Absolutely gorgeous! I have a similar body type to you-- I'm quite full in the hips/thighs. I think I'll do one up in view A some day, but I'm really leaning toward view C. You're wonderful! You have the best tutorials!
Thank you Brittany I’m fairly new to sewing and I managed to make this jumpsuit following your tutorial I didn’t look at the pattern at all. You are so good at the tutorials straight to the point and very helpful. Looking to do another one of your choices can’t wait. I’m trying to see if I can put a photo of my jumpsuit on but not sure how 😘
Very nice tutorial! It looks like you finished the seams with a serger. What kind of material do you choose and can you suggest how to finish the seams without a serger?
Hi! Thank you! I used a Pique Knit. and Yes to finish seams without a serger, you can zigzag the edge of the fabric, use pinking shears, or do a hong kong finish. Even bias tape is an option.
Hi, I enjoy watching your videos...my question is on that pink top you are wearing what pattern is it? and do you have a tutorial for it? please let me know I love it.
I love your tutorials! :) just a question - if I need to make alterations to the bodice after sewing the shoulders back to front and back seam. Where do I take in a little bit? From the side seams or the back seam? To make it more fitting? :) thanks!
Hi Brittany, I love the jump suite. I've never made one in all my years of sewing l always felt like it's to much of a problem getting in and out and I don't like how my stomach look. But now that I've seen yours I've been inspired I might give it a try. Thanks
I just purchased this pattern because of your video. You say you chose an Aztec knit for the fabric....I've never heard of this & can't find it; Measure Fabric doesn't show it at all. Is there stretch to this fabric and do you recommend a stretch fabric? The pattern envelope suggests cotton lawn and other light, sheer fabrics! Would you recommend a plain cotton or cotton polyester? Help please!!!! BTW - I loved this video!
This fabric is actually a Pique Knit. It is a Aztec print. My fabric did have a little stretch in it but it not significant like a jersey. It kinda depends on your fabric preference if you like plain cotton or polyester. Honestly any of those fabrics suggested will be great for this jumpsuit.
My question is when you use the serger do you also trim/cut the seams?? Or just use server and no cutting?? I just subscribed to your channel this week and love all your tutorials especially the 30 minute ones. I bought some of the patterns you have made. Can’t wait to start.
Hi Anna. I usually trim the seams as I serge. The only times I don't is when I've already trimmed them and just want to finish the seam. So excited to hear love my tutorials! Thanks so much for watching! Happy Sewing!
I am confused on the zipper install. This will be my 1st attempt at zippers. It looks like you installed the zipper on the outside (right side of material) of the outfit but when you go to zip it up, the zipper is on the inside. Am I missing something? Thanks for making this video.
Hi Brittany could you do a video on the grading process on the multi size that you have to do. I want to make a jumpsuit and I need to grade out to a larger size at the hips, it’s Mccalls 8028. I’m having a problem as to how would I grade out with this kind of pocket. I really would appreciate it. Thanks
Brittany, love the jumpsuit and the way you styled it for the photos! How does the amount of wearing ease for New Look compare to Simplicity/McCall's, etc.? I've seen some cute NL patterns, but haven't purchased any of their patterns. Thanks for another great sew with me video.
Hi Laura. I honestly haven't compared the wearing ease between the different patterns. For me, its more of they don't go up to a larger size for my hips on a lot of their pattern. Most stop at a 16-18, so I mostly just stick to the other pattern companies. I was happy to have this one because it was a great pattern.
Fantastic tutorial! I haven't worn a jumpsuit since I was in my 20's, many moons ago! Lol. I was wondering, exactly what kind of knit fabric you used for this? It looks soooooo beautiful and easy to work with? Anyway, TIA and keep the tutorials coming!❤
Hi , new subscriber, really enjoying. A lot of people have asked about this pink popover top you are wearing. I can not locate answer. I have spent months looking for a pattern like this. Can you please point me in the right direction. Many thanks!
Hi Neil. I did make an adjustment but it was for merging the pattern lines. I'm between three sizes on the pattern, so that the adjustment I made. If you feel you need a FBA, I definitely say do a quick muslin of the bodice before cutting into your fabric to check your fit.
Hi BRITTANY I. Love watching you. But am having a hard time with my fitting pattern am a 38 bust and 39 waist and 40 hips. I cut out size 16 pattern pants or skirt but the waist is to tight. How can i fix it.Can you please help me.
Hi Ruth. You may need to merge your pattern lines to get the fit you need. I just uploaded a video on how I merge my pattern lines if you want to check it out! Hope it helps!
I LOVE IT. NOW I HAVE TO GO AND BUY THIS PATTERN. I HAVE BEEN WANTING SOMEONE TO TEACH ME FOR SO LONG NOW I HAVE YOU TO TEACH ME HOW TO MAKE A JUMPSUIT. THANK YOU.
