I have the Sygav , i was first to install it in a Rav4 2017 hybrid. it still has the Android 8. MCU MTCE_V33.78_1 do you have a better MCU and which file should i update , also how do i get it to Android 10 or 11
I used a plastic pry tool to remove the silver trim piece (metal tools leave scratches). For the AC vents, just pull them loose by hand, they are only held by bezel clips. The pry tool is used to remove the air bag status monitor (also held by clips). Then you need a 10mm socket with an extension to remove the 4 bolts that secure the radio to the frame
Hi! Thank you for the comment, I am still using the OEM camera and speaker system. Everything is compatible with the new head unit. It just has two yellow RCA connectors, one for the backup camera and one for front camera that my vehicle don't have. So reconnect to the second yellow connector if the backup camera says no signal
Thank you for making the video. Do you get good enough GPS reception with the receiver inside the compartment? Or do you need to run the wire out and stick it to the windshield?
I get good reception and it never lagged. Sticking the GPS module out would yield better reception for tricky situations, but I prefer the clean install. Same with the external mic. The built in mic isn't so bad I ended up ditching the external one
Hi, thank you for your video instruction; you're very clear about how to install it. I really appreciate it. Does this head unit keep the RAV4 old oem head unit's functionalities and features such as the door settings? Thanks
Yes, it keeps everything and even allows you to change more settings you couldn't see before (at least in my case). Now I have settings to change gauge cluster color, door lock options...
Is the radio compatible with the dashboard for the small display on the screen and does the display for the battery hybrid function still work? The tank and remaining liter display also work with it?
Really like your videos! I purchased parts to add ambient lighting to my 2017. I am hoping I can just tie into the center console ambient light with a pigtail, have you thought about doing this?
Have you looked at other replacement head units? I see a growing number of them. The greatest concern is compatibility. I don't want to lose any features, only gain Android Auto and other features.
I saw a few ones that were a lot cheaper, but they come with compatibility issues. Even this one has some; like the dynamic compass no longer working (not sure if it will work in your case). Otherwise it keeps all other functions and adds more functions
It's holding up strong. I made two more follow up videos on this head unit, you should check them out (links in description). I would recommend it if it wasn't for the price. It's also running Android 5.1.1 which isn't that bad on a head unit, but I have seen some running Android 13 for way less expensive but I haven't tested them, no idea what's the catch

Hi mate. I would like to change the radio in my Toyota rav4 2017 hybrid, only my car is an English model with the steering wheel on the other side, is this not a problem? Bro im planning to buy this, but I see some have GPS unit and some not. Is that for navigating without the phone data via hotspot? So you can directly navigate on the headunit?
You will still need internet connection for google maps to allow navigation. You can tether to your phone or just launch Apple Carplay/Android Auto and it will seamlessly mirror your supported apps onto to head unit making navigation simple. Only down side is the 1A charging (Kinda slow). I'm dropping a follow up video soon
Hi, A quick correction to my previous response. I realized that the navigation works without connection. But you have to use the app IGO719WD_PAL. If this app is not preinstalled in the head unit, you can install it manually. The APK file comes preloaded (File browser/SD Card/IGO_PAL). Not sure if it is worldwide but the U.S checks. Apps like google maps and waze require connection, but you can download offline maps in google maps which can serve for a somewhat offline experience@@uA_1905_hY
