Right to Censor was the right group at the right time to get absolutely nuclear heat. I think people who didn't watch that era of wrestling live don't always have an appreciation of exactly how much heat they got. They were fantastic heels.

Eh well for good reason. when he was in ECW and WCW he was a top end midcarder. his promos wheren't uuuuuuuuuuh assuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh like uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh tripple H's but he was so...average. Can you honestly say something about his hayday that stood out well? Kept some guy long blond hair playing Patrick Swayze and Kirk Kokain from carcing before his 50s, and somehow managed to keep Perry Saturn sober...but ok other then that, him and Jerry Lynn were, just average

I think RTC could work today. Before two of the members were fired due to serious allegations made against them during SpeakingOut, IMPACT had a stable called 'Cancel Culture' which was doing a modern Right To Censor style gimmick.
They would go after wrestlers in IMPACT who they considered "problematic".
But alas Joey Ryan and Dave Crist were fired. Leaving Rob Van Dam and his manager/wife Katie Forbes alone in the company.

Right to Censor did their job so well. Very underrated group. Stevie is awesome, we need more Stevie interviews. By the way, I agree Wrestlemania X7 is the best Mania, but they actually did invite Legends in the Gimmick Battle Royal lol. But I get what you mean that the WWF didn't have to do that because they were loaded with current star power. The gimmick battle royal was just an extra treat. So glad that we got to hear Bobby the Brain Heenan on commentary in the WWF once more.

I totally agree. It was an awesome gimmick. There's also something great about a dirty heel character lecturing & preaching to the crowd about how screwed up they are. Fans go ballistic over being preached to. It's an awesome gimmick IMO

I appreciate the faction more looking back on it now, as at the time I was a kid and didn't get the meta reference that RTC were parodying a real life pressure group trying to censor the WWF. I was at X7 and it was amazing! Bell to Bell what a show! Jericho vs Regal to start the PPV, The TLC match! HHH vs Taker I, Austin Rock II!!! The Legends battle royal was fun too and also I saw Kientai earlier in the day at the fan axxess arena (it was a ring in the middle of the convention center) and there was a bunch of shit to do! They had a legit ramp area for making your own entrance's that you could get on tape or DVD. Then there was autograph areas and I went on show day which all the legends were there for due to the battle royal but a bunch of WCW guys were around too some just walking around others had tables. This was the first Axxess I think but could be wrong. XV had that nightclub rave thing and 16 had something too but not to this degree. So I saw Kientai wrestle Saturn and Malenko and that was neat. They only had a couple matches but no footage and thats kinda a bummer. I wish they filmed it all like they did 19. X7 was one hell of a show.

How can this interviewer not remember ivory at the rumble????

He’s right I remember the build of Chyna vs Ivory more than how the TLC match was built
Up. Next to rock and Austin I remember that feud clearly

    Stevie has a great voice.
I barely remember Right To Censor. I had to look up Wrestlemania 17. It was a great WM, didn't recall Ivory and Chyna at all.
I think WM 13 is perhaps the best.

Always thought it would’ve been interesting if they got an nWo style main event push and feuded with Austin, Rock and others. They could’ve gotten a lot out of that with the right members/push.

Right to Censor would be the top baby face faction if they were alive now, because people LOVEEEEEEEE to cancel everything

Cancel culture is a myth. It’s just businesses caving to a vocal minority.

If they had their own show that would be fire. Sadly Dutch’s mental faculties seem to be getting worse daily. Dutch will bring a topic up, then go down some unrelated rabbit trail, then he has to ask James what they were talking about? Maybe have Dutch as a guest on occasion and give him a script to work from

I want Stevie to know me and my friends loved RTC. when youre big on the mid card stuff and not the main eventers which were boring.RTC was the main mid card sort of heel side of the show for the meat and mid card of the show. i think the ecw invasion angle sort of stole that gimmick, trying to recruit stuff and 3 minute warning aped aspects of it.
RTC was the main drawv to see faces have matches with.

RTC could have been something huge if they went even farther with it, with them gaining more and more power to the point where they were molding shows into their own image, until a big babyface and his buddies step up to take them down, culminating in a Wargames like defeat at WrestleMania or something. Wrestling fans loved the Attitude stuff, and would RTC could have gotten huge heat for trying to take it all away.
They would have needed some main eventers or close in there, though, guys who could possibly even be the champion, rather than it being a dumping ground for guys they didn't know what to do with or had gotten stale.
