My nmap scan doesn't produce the "mysql-info:" section. I've tried everything but to no avail😓. Do you (or anyone) have any idea what could be the issue?
Could just be a weird nuance in the version of nmap. A way around that is to run nmap MySQL scripts against the machine, like so: nmap -script “mysql*”. Note there’s two dashes before the script flag
Great video, how did you know to make the command "nmap -sC -sV -v [ip] ? I'm using zenmap and I tried all profiles but it didn't display to me the service details, just the port and service name without all the additional info, thanks
I don't really use zenmap so I can't speak to specifics with zenmap. However, I know to use -sC and -sV becasue those are the flags used to gather more information from the ports. -sC runs scripts against an open port to gain more information and -sV runs more scanning to see if it can gather the service version number of whatever is running on a port
-sV will scan for the services version on the scanned port and -sC will run appropriate scripts for on the service -v just means verbose, it will print out more detailed information
Thanks for the video but one thing it literally sounds like you're whispering as quiet as possible throughout the whole video, and I have really loud speakers. I could barely hear you even when I put my ears up to my speakers. Aside from that thank you very much!
You're the man!!!! Thanks for being clear and right to the point but also throwing in tips and tricks for newcomers like myself.
