Well this takes me back to being 17 and commuting to work on a blue benly with a rickman Polaris fairing, the bike was always flat out and it never missed a beat. If memory serves it also had twin air horns. It wasn’t cool or flash but it was fabulous ☺️
She’s a beauty Guy! Must say I have had mixed experiences with the eBay carbs, mostly they have gotten the machine running but never perfect. Glad yours worked out, I certainly can relate to persisting with a carb to never get it come good. Modern fuels me thinks…
Brilliant. Bought new CD185 Benley in 1981. Great bike. Understand your problem with Carb. The carb has been on and off my honda xr125l probably as much as your Benley. Experiencing same fault. Thought about a Chinese copy but mine has a carb heater so not sure. Ask young millyard on my behalf if a copy without heater would be OK....
A great tip for a carburettor. A possibility for my own CD200 project. My wife does not ride any more and her old low mileage bike looks tempting for a quick rolling restoration. Had may fun rides on these little Benlys over the years. No MOT and tax-whats not to like?
Hello Guy, great to see someone looking out for our four legged friends. Also good to see you managed to pick up a good carb, it can be a bit hit or miss sometimes. Great little run out for the bike, on best behaviour too. If the plastic baffle in your shot carb is going spare feel free to pass it this way! Cheers Kevin.
Nice one Guy.. i used to have a Benly, electric start and it never need the choke. Yes, it ran great all balanced. A heavy bike for a 200, and the brakes were like sponge😂 all was well until i met with a 'sorry i didn't see you' car driver. Buckled the whole front end😣 your fairing looks great..
New to the channel but v cool video Guy - thanks. Love the simplicity of the biking and the change in pace rather than those passing you at Mach 1 after the racing (which I've also witnessed on a few occasions!). Look forward to seeing your Benly adventures!
Bit late to the party :) the only thing i worry about with cheap carbs and what they may do to the fuel/air mixture and ending up a few miles down the road with a sooty plug.
I've seen these carbs advertised, maybe I should get one; my Benly seems to foul plugs but actually runs great, doesn't hang onto revs, doesn't need much choke tho and occasionally dies pulling away which I'm thinking is the plug issue, actually tried it with needle one groove lower but lost lots of power! I'm sure you were having at least as much fun as all the race rep brigade passing you btw 👍
Don’t forget Guy, once upon a time the Chinese stuff was all ‘knock-off’ stuff, but now they make almost everything for the whole World! Great to see you and the Benly having a ball, and can’t wait for your next Benly event - Cheers!
Hi there , my Benly would benefit from a carb like that as the mid range is poor which it thought was due to replacement exhausts. is there a make on it . Any info would be ace . here's hoping

Loving the fairing on that bike - thoroughly enjoyed that, thanks!
That brings back memories mate to when I was 16 back in the 80s
A trip down memory lane for me. I passed my test on a Benly CD200 of the same colour. Great channel. Thanks.
For me, this is what biking is about. Honest to goodness fun! Impressed with how the carb has transformed it too..
That's as much fun as you can have who needs a big machine all the time... reminds you of when you enjoyed every ride well done mate.
Ah,the redoubtable Benly (I had the 185cc job)! A marvellous workhorse, with a bit of fun thrown in for free! 😀

Should have titled this one "Benley Overtakes a Repsol Honda. Twice!". Excellent little machine!👍.
Honda made some cracking little bikes like this alas the likes of which we will never see again lovely little bike look after it and keep it going
Well done Skid, at 8.36 we recognise other vulnerable road users like ourselves .
Well done Guy: great to see a follow up on the benly, lovely little bike. Thanks for sharing the journey. 🤓❤️🤘
Congratulations, Guy!! Been watching all the videos so far with the Benley, and happy to see you get a nice ride in on it!

My dad had one passed my test on it, however it used to piss fuel out of the float overflow - all the time. Ride safe!
Great work if u can get it guy lovely riding out with your son really enjoyed this benly project
Good video Guy gotta love the old Hondas , thought you would have the 250 Superdream by know
Nice to see the bike returning to use again. Funnily enough it was the smallest bike in the car park but it seemed to get people's attention....
Great little machine, Will run forever 👏🇳🇱 NL, Transalp with many mods, still starts every first try.

Great video, bike looks fantastic. Maybe bring that down to Sammy Millers on August 21st. Star of the show. Keep them coming.

It’s been several months since you fitted the carb. Have you had to tweak it? I have just took delivery on one and am going to fit as is.
Hey guy, I just bought a 1982, what was the name of the carb you used and where can I get one. My Benley has the same color schem but no fairing.
Great video Guy chinese knock off carb to the rescue 😆. 👍

Just goes to show that you don't need to spend a fortune.
You can have just as much fun on on cheap little bike.
