Starting to think that Drounin injury may have been the best thing that could have happened. Val was not playing well on the second line and that injury forced him back into the first line. I wonder what Bednar will do when Drounin is back next round. He’s played so well with Mackinnon this year but I don’t think you can break up the chemistry the second and first lines seem to have right now. Middlestadt is playing really well right now with Parise too. Definitely will be a tough coaching decision to make.

@@Michael-hq1iq Manson’s own goal in this game was worse. Georgiev had it covered but he took it out from under his pads. That was a real bone head move, pionk’s was just an unlucky bounce.
after the first game I wrote that Georgiev would win this series, and that’s how it happened. Winnipeg is a strong team, but Colorado just better

I saw a few "Jets in 5" comments leading into this series. The Avs are contenders and this team has recently won a cup (with a few roster changes). The result is not surprising in the least.

Hellebuyck isn't the only one to fault but 5 goals per game is unacceptable. Not all on him though. The Jets were outclassed.
Jets fans chanting “let’s go jets” while Parise was down on the ice, possibly hurt, is genuinely one of the most classless displays I’ve ever seen. Not to mention last game in Winnipeg when they boo’d the training staff for getting a possibly concussed player off the ice.
In Ball Arena, when Nemestikov took a puck to the face Avs fans went dead silent and cheered for him when he got up.
Grow up. These are human beings, regardless of which team they play for. Have a little class. Genuinely one of the most obnoxious crowds I’ve ever listened to.

Jets did not pace themselves, they were good at the first half of the game but couldn't sustain the pace the Avs are playing. They seem to have another wind on them towards the latter half of the game.

Was gonna say the same thing. He was horrendous. Let in 24 goals in five games.
A buddy of mine is a Jets fan and he was really upset that Winnipeg didn't try to go up for a more solid defensemen. Besides Morrissey, Jets don't really have any other offensively capable defense, and besides Dillon, Jets only have stick on stick defensemen, which is not what you want in the playoffs.
Playoffs don't matter in season awards, though, right? I feel like if that's the case, they should just announce that set of trophy winners the day after the regular season ends.
Sorry he has every right to be in the Vezina conversation and I'm an Avs fan. The Jets were the best defensive team in the regular season, and a big part of that was a .921 save percentage from Hellebuyck on 3567 shots across 60 games. Bob was also good but played 2 less games (save percentage .915) but faced only 3414 even if Bob played two more games I doubt the Panthers get hit for 50+ shots a game to bring him up to Hellebuyck's number and their GAA is almost identical at 2.39 for Connor and 2.37 for Sergei. So those two are the best goalies in the league this season....

If the Avs get Drouin back in form, and Landeskog shows up randomly since hes been skating in a contact jersey - this team cant be stopped.
but the thing is right now their chemistry is on par with everybody so adding Drouin or Landeskog might change that but it can also give them an extra boost so lets hope it turns out the best way for the Avs.
