Hi Mr. Tour guide, (i am not sure of your name), I do enjoy your documentaries, especially the back streets around and about the Queens town area. I am familiar with most of the streets but cannot picture them in my mind. I spent two years in Teachers' Training College, 1964 to 1966 - I was in the second batch when pre-service started. I left Guyana Sept 9, 1973, and never came back to visit and now because of my health, I am unable to travel. Guyana has changed beyond recognition but it is beautiful. Your government is doing a wonderful job. I spent many years studying - computer science, Human Resources Management, Budget Financial IBM systems and worked At Centennial College/University as the Assistant Director of Computer operations. It was a very responsible job 50+ full-time employees and over 100 part-time employees, I miss that place and maybe my spirit will visit when I 'kick-the-bucket'. I Street I would like to see is Bent St. I lived at 58 Bent St., Worth Manville - not far from Burban Park. You have a beautiful family . Thank you very much. God bless. neville sukul
Wow!! Time has flown.I left my queenstown,Georgetown,Guyana on november19 ,1989,34 years ago.Queenstown has changed alot,i lived at 186 almond street not far from the alberttown police station.sad you didn't mencion almond street and the dcc cricket ground.I hope to return one day to visit my beloved queenstown. What became of the guyana funeral parlor that was at the corner of forshaw and albert streets, is it still there?I remember with great joy my teenage years living in queenstown.
First of all thanks for your valuable time and effort in producing & sharing this video. I have not been back to Guyana in over 30 years and was a little disappointed that Queenstown has become part of inner city Georgetown. Queenstown which was once a quiet, serene residential neighborhood has changed into an unrecognizable place with commercial activity like bars and shops scattered everywhere alongside homes and schools and churches with no thought that zoning is needed. Some might call that progress but I feel Queenstown has unfortunately lost it's charm. Nevertheless nothing stays the same and we must look to the future. Thanks again for sharing. Be well.
Hi Beautiful Family....This is a lovely video...I do not know how I missed it....the church is the Central Church of Seventh day Adventists.....the Duke Edwards School is an Anglican School...I think that location was once Convent of the Good Shepherd....anyway...I am watching this lovely video now...have a nice day....
Just seeing this video of Queenstown today. Saw the house I lived in as a kid 26:42 (white house with red roof); on the left is the primary school I attended 27:06 (Comenius Moravian Primary School) yellow building next to the church with red steeple roof top Haven't visited Guyana in a little while. Thanks for showing me my old neighborhood "Hot Stuff", "Slim" & "Cutie Pie".
I have really enjoyed you tour through Queenstown. I used to live in that area. It has changed but not much. When you started the video you were driving on the right side and toward the end of the video you were on the left. Either you inverted the video or changed the car
Great video. I totally enjoy it. I am looking forward for you guys to do a video of the location of the old movie theater that once existed in Georgetown.
Love your videos. I attended St Gabriel’s many years ago. So much has changed in Queenstown. Can you catch 156 Crown Street if you are ever in the area again. The camera did not pick up the house it might be set back from the road or gone. Would love to know. Hot stuff thanks for your entertaining commentary.. You guys are a great team.
Where is Anira Street? I lived at 30 Anira Street. When making a right on Ornoque Street from Lamaha Street, the first street will be Anira Street. The continuation of Anira Street that does to Villsengen Rd will be ( I forgot the name) please refresh my memory.
This is the second time I am watching this video..let me give you some useful information, when you are looking for addresses, if i am not mistaken, the even numbers are onthe right and the odd on the left. Or visa versa.
