Oh my god! You crossed right by the street I grew up on! I haven’t seen it since 1988. It was where Chapel and Durban intersected! We lived at lot 4 Durban street! I believe you said there was a church there? Well that corner use to be Salem. It was a school and a burial ground. If you had turned right, my childhood would have been 4 houses in on the right! Thank you so much for doing what you do! I was almost there! I even remembered falling into one of those trenches 😂❤

It is good that neighborhoods like Bel Air Park have security keeping an eye out for suspicious activities to combat crime. Police did their job.

I grow up in East Street near New Market Street that was from the late 70's up to 90, back in those those everyone know each other Guyana was a nice place though times were ruff and tuff, Guyana is still my home.

I used to live in Sville in the late 1960/70s and was hoping to see something of its old character still in place. Instead, what a shock ! I see a total mess.. roads disgraceful... and the whole ambience destroyed by the massive gaudy appallingly ugly houses and businesses that have replaced the once attractive and tasteful GY wooden houses. Shameful... a race to the bottom. Choice box bore..as they say. Thanks for filming the streets but I would not be going back there or even recommend Sville to anyone !

This is a wonderful video of the kind of hinterland of Guyana. I used to work in the Bartica region in the 1977 / end of 1977. The best place to visit is always the hinterland for me. Thank you for sharing.
