I'm glad Joel Klatt is doing these interviews. I do think that with the 12-team playoff coming, the look of the immediate post regular season time needs to be revamped, even taking a hard look at the value of conference championship games. The February signing period worked for a long time, and in the college football of today and going forward, these programs can make that work effectively again. It terms of postseason status, the NCAA Division I men's basketball model is one that could be applied for college football. In basketball, there's the NCAA Tournament and the National Invitational Tournament. Similarly in football, there should be the College Football Playoff and the bowl games. Presently, the CFP semifinals ARE bowl games with the two winners advancing to the CFP Championship Game. In my recommendation, the bowl games would be more akin to the NIT in basketball.
Less commercials in college and nfl. Games are to long and it breaks up the flow of the game for the fans and the teams. Love the way rugby and soccer just has a game timer. Beautiful way to watch the game. It would be great if the commercials were at the half and quarter breaks. Maybe the game would be a 1 1/2 hours maybe 2 with overtime.
If a conference like the Pac 12 did this for their streaming games could be a real advantage over linear broadcasts. Commercial frequency and length have nearly turned me off to sport.
Awesome interview with awesome questions for Coach Day. the analysis was spot on. Wish you could work for The Buckeyes Football Program. Perhaps as a coaching analyst, or be involved in recruiting, or coaching. Buckeye Nation respects you and your knowledge of the game.
It seems every Ohio State season comes to an inevitable bogus call relating to targeting that determines the outcome of our entire season and as a fan you just sit around all season stewing and noting gets resolved in that area. (See Sean Wade, Marvin Harrison, Joey Bosa)
@dennisquigney3809 Harrison was decapitated on national television, Ohio State got robbed. Horrible no call. I'm just saying you backed into the playoffs only because USC lost their conference championship game, a game OSU didn't earn the right to play in for the B1G. OSU got in by sitting at home. And it is a 60 minute game, if you're the better team 1 snap shouldn't make a difference in the outcome. Like when JT was short in 2016, it should have never came down to that. We lost the game because our offense didn't get 6 on our possession. OSU had an opportunity to win that game. That's the point.
@@wolverinesfan9021All due respect, you have very little knowledge of football it you say one snap shouldn't decide a game. Ohio state was up 35-24 when that hit happened. If targeting would have been called, OSU gets the ball at the goal line and puts the game away.

Ryan Day is an offensive coordinator. Urban Meyer had OSU shaped into an SEC program and that’s why they dominated so long. Day has ignored his OL and defense essentially and Harbaugh has attacked those areas the last two years and especially with NFL defensive schemes. Kirby Smart was arrogant in his preparation for them. Had he studied Michigan then Georgia would have blown them out. Instead, he tried to match them score for score. Ultimately, it was OSU defensive scheme that allowed Georgia to score at will in the final minutes. It will cost them again this year too
Ignores Oline? He just has 3 guys drafted, including the first olineman taken in this draft. And had 2 rookie tackles starting in the NFL this past season lol. He’s had to deal with that talent gap during his tenure, and he was playing against a great coach, Urban Meyer. But, still with less talent, he’s managed to build a team designed to dismantle the Buckeyes. That’s great coaching. More important, he’s 2-1 against Ryan Day, and Michigan is improving year over year whereas Ohio State is regressing. You needed USC losing even to appear in the playoff last year…and you played your best game against Georgia’s worst, and still lost. All things being equal, Harbaugh will be 3-1 against Day this November…and play in another playoff game. But don’t worry, the NCAA is making rivalries and conferences irrelevant, and Day has already admitted he looks forward to the NCAA being more like the NFL, where you can lose late in the year and still make the playoffs….that tells you a lot about his mindset vis a vis getting his a$$ handed to him two years running.

Is Ryan day advocating for a NIL salary cap?
The fact that so many OSU fans want him fired as if a better coach is just gonna walk right in the door right after he leaves is crazy. I do agree that there’s no excuse to be consistently losing to a way less talented team in Michigan, but that’s not enough of a reason to let him go.
He’s gonna be UGA’s next offensive coordinator… Dude is a coordinator. Not a HC
I agree, he’s being held to a high standard to begin with.
Yeah, as an OSU fan that didn't grow up rooting for the team a lot of fans are just spoiled idiots. Anybody that wants Day fired doesn't understand the level of success we've had under him, if our kicker doesn't miss a last second field goal we it's possible we won the natty last year.
@@ajpierre🤡🤡🤡
@@ajpierre he’s one field goal away from the national championship. I think he’s OK. He’s made the right changes when he’s needed too. This is really his yeto take back the rains and show everyone this is his program
it's a really long break when you don't play in a conf championship lol
My man had the hardest time not saying Jim Harbaugh is a good coach. It seemed like he was trying to throw some shade after he said, "I'm trying to think of other coaches" and didn't come up with one lol Michigan's about to 3peat! He knows in his head Jim Harbaugh owns him lmfao #Hail!
Added, I think Ryan Day is a great coach, and he has a great record at OSU. Just a Michigan fan lol
I think he was just trying to refrain from mentioning the obvious ones, like Saban, Dabo, Lincoln Riley, Kirby Smart, etc but yeah #goblue
Also ran for 5 ypc (without top 2 RBs) and only gave up 1 sack vs your Michigan team. Just because he doesn't rely on the transfer portal every year like someone else, doesn't mean they aren't a priority
@@jkolh16 He ignores the OL and had to go to San Diego State to pick up a starting tackle to bail them out this year. He needs to use the transfer portal more. It worked out well for Michigan last year when our center pulled twice and hammered Tommy Two Thumbs while Donovan Edwards gashed you for TWO 80 yard runs

No mention of Harbaugh as coaches he respects? You’d think he would show some respect to his father
He would never give Michigan any credit
You can't respect a man who runs away and forfeits. Harbaugh heard Day was gonna hang 100 on him, and all of a sudden the whole team develops a "cold".
He would be better off picking up pointers from Harbaugh, Kirby Smart, and Nick Saban than the coaches on his list.

2-2 with a better résumé
Harbaugh is 2-1 and has a much better resume….Harbaugh has taken losing programs and turned them into winning programs, with 10-win seasons and conference championships, including on the NFL level. Ryan Day took an elite program backward.
@@DeshCanterno one wants to mention 49ers Stanford or u san diego....they only wanna mention not winning a title ...Harbaugh is great people.just don't like.him bottom line
@DeshCanter Harbaugh is 2-5 against osu don't forget that
@@ammielcoats9762 Harbaugh inherited a 5-7 team and (without the notorious homer call in ‘16) did enough to beat Ohio State in Columbus in his 2nd season, with far less talent; that’s great coaching.
DON'T emphasize "the"...just say "Ohio State University" like everybody else.

Lol Days excited about 12 team playoff because now he gets another shot after Michigan runs over them to maybe win it. He seems awfully happy about it being easier to get in playoffs. Bullard made shoulder to shoulder contact. He was running and made a good hard hit. That’s called football dawg go coach soccer 🤣
If you run your finger up your shoulder you will find your neck and head area. I somehow can't figure out how a 6' tall man launched his body off the ground like Superman, after running full speed, and happened to only touch a 4 square inch area on another man's shoulder by shrinking himself. How do you knock someone unconscious, before they hit the ground, without striking the head and neck area? MHJ's arms went limp before he hit the ground because he couldn't even brace his fall.

@@roris5882 You don't need to figure anything out, just watch the video. It CLEARLY showed it was shoulder to shoulder. Indisputable. Ohio needs to accept it was the correct call, and move on. Two things. First. When asked about coaches, his lack of mentioning Jim Harbaugh, is deafening. I mean the guy that has kicked your a$$ two years in a row? LOL.
Second, this playoff will only work if there is a limit to how many teams per conference can make it. There should NOT be more than 2 or 3 teams per conference, or we'll soon see 6 SEC teams, 4 Big 10 teams, ND and Clemson. Every year.

Georgia 3 peating
Lsu (lot of returning starters and qb)
Michigan will beat us but their strength was running the ball. And most SEC teams are built to stop the run. So im not sure. I feel like OSU would be a bigger threat against LSU or Georgia just because of our receivers again. If our Qb and receivers click. Am i biased for that? 😂
Bama - so many questions on offense especially with new coaches
But defense gnna be nasty.
Tennessee id have higher but i dont think theyll beat Georgia or bama. But i think a very good returning team.
Florida state id have higher and run through the acc even clemson but i dont think theyll beat LSU.
Penn state just dont think theyll beat michigan or osu
