@@scalemodelingltd thanks! I used to work with these buses between 1986 and 1993 and have just finished detailing one (1:1 scale) in a heritage livery, so I know them very well indeed. Your detailing is truly superb and the end result looks so much better, inside and out, for your neat work to avoid screw heads.
The original kit comes with some awful clunky body rivets, (as seen elsewhere), that let the model down. Your attention to detail with replacement rivets sets the model off 100%, amazing work.
@@Realpoweronearth Either they have came down in price or someone's just being a bit more reasonable lol Still crazy, but I mean the detail is incredible so the price is almost expected at 1.5k
The track pins are the hornby flat top type but I also put them in a dremel and ground them down as small as possible, then sanded them to give the polished shiny look. The floors were all drybrushed with different colours of Vallejo acrylics. Various shades of brown plus black and white. Hope this is of help.
Amazing work dude, I’m currently building this for my dad as a surprise who grew up in Fulham as was always on this bus, are you using washes for the weathering effects on the floors?
Fantastic job on the fuel pipes and the body molding's trim are excellent what material did you use to make them and how did you fix the panels to the frame
Thank you. The body panels were glued on with industrial strength super glue which gave a very strong bond. The strips were evergreen plasticard with the rivets put in individually with a drawing pin.
It doesn't have a wireless remote, but all the lights, sounds and blind are wired to an external control box so I dont have to poke my fingers around the insides feeling for all the buttons.
Thank you. It was a servo from an R/C helicopter modified internally. I then found a servo horn to fit, modified that then glued this to one of the driven gears of the blind. Then made up a separate control box for the electronics and for the rest of the wiring of the bus.
@@dsfiyhureiwyhjntrk Thank you. I didn't know there was a Facebook group for this. I'll have a look. I don't want to sell for now but I'll definitely let you know if I do. Thanks again.
12 kilo finished wow that's done model I bought one off the Internet ready built i paid £75 for it bargain of the year so far but its a nice huge model and I bet they took some building I didn't want to wait 3 years for all the parts as I would have lost interest plus at £1200 they're a expensive chunk of metal as you would never get your money back!!!
Thanks, yeah its a nice big model and it's a big expense, not so much involved with partworks any more because of that, sticking with plastic and wooden kits from now on.
@@scalemodelingltd they are orange led's flat in shape and are glued to the back of the indicators, had to drill small holes for the wires! Also had to put resistors in the wiring to make the led's work , the wires are connected to the back indicators.
Best I've seen so far! Well done. Love the 'no screws' look. Body straps look perfect.
Thankyou very much 🙂

@@johng.lidstone2236 Thankyou very much. That's good to hear from someone who has spent time working these buses.
You really kicked the build up a gear with all your modications. I love that you fully lit the model. Well done, indeed.
Thankyou. It did come with the lighting already, but there were lots of improvements to get it how I wanted it to look. x

Yeah it comes with red screws that hold all the body panels on, which completely ruin the look of the model. Thank you very much.
I have got one of these models. It’s a big bus you have done amazing job.
Cheers pal 👍
I just decided to build one of these myself then I found your video showing how to make it even better! Fantastic!
Awesome, have fun with your build !
If I didn't no this was a model I really would of thought it was the real thing.
I love how you weatherd the floors looks so realistic well done 👏

I use to drive rm on the route 11.the last garage they ran from was stockwell.sw plate.lovley bus.

Cannot believe how good this looks, shame about its price today!! 3 grand!!! Suppose it is the only of its kind, fantastic stuff
Thankyou very much. It is a lot of money for sure.
Is that pounds or dollars?
@@Realpoweronearthpounds I think, I'm from the UK so I assume so lol

Please could you tell me what size track pins you used from hornby as there is different types and what colouring you used for the flooring please.

Wouldn't be good if you could change the destination by remote control?

The nearside front sidelight is not working ?
I never noticed this before, I'll have to look into it to see if it actually has a led in there. Thankyou for noticeing.

Do you ever take commission work to repeat this project?
Hi there, sorry I dont do commission work of any kind. Just building one of these was enough for me.
The only mod i did on my Routmaster was making the front indicators to work by installing led's
I've just watched your videos, I had no idea they lit up. Nice work. 👍
