OMG! I love your lessons. They're so easy to follow, you explain everything and break it down so it makes sense and you teach different ways to switch things up. It's so easy to sing and play along with you in the beginning by following the words and chords. I know these videos are a few years old, but they're amazing. Thank you.
+That-WeirdoGirl Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Many more to come both here and at patreon.com/swiftlessons. Free ebooks, backing tracks and gear reviews are also on the way!
I play a bit of guitar ,I know a few songs and I just learned this one from you. Another one to add to my collection, wanted to say thanks. Awesome voice.
Mate im getting back into playing after a long break and this channel is as good as it gets! AND PJ are my fav band ever! top work keep the vids coming!
haha, yeah, not like yellow ledbetter, what the hell is going on in that song... strangly, its still an amazing tune even though its complete gibberish.
swiftlessons teaching style is awesome but damn man u shocked me with those vocals. Love this song and you singing didnt hurt it all!! I had to just play the singing part a few times. lol Now going to get the strumming rythm down...Thanks and i hope u keep the lessons coming.
Great beginner/intermediate lesson. I love how you taught the basic chord structure, and then showed the flourishes to work on when you were ready to progress. Great job! Subscribed!
Hi, could you please explain the "finger transition" from G to Em (as shown in the beginning of your video) ?.It gives such a cool transition sound and i would love to learn it. Thank you.
Super huge thanks for this. I love the Pearl Jam version and you did it justice. You've shown that even I should be able to play it with a bit of practice. Wonder if you can do something with the PJ take on "25 Minutes to Go"?
Hey Chad, thanks a lot for watching and for your positive feedback! That Cash cover is amazing, its been a long time since I have listened to that live acoustic album. I'll add that to my to-do list. Thanks for the rec. -Rob
awesome video! just started playing the guitar and im slowly learning this song, your video helps a lot. I'm still having trouble up strumming or just strumming incorrectly, either I strum to hard or to light and the pic slides out of my hand. Any suggestions on how to practice the right technique for strumming? and holding the pic?
Hey Kris Valas, congrats on picking up an exciting new hobby, i'm glad to be of help. Just by playing through your chord progressions and actively experimenting with the dynamics will allow you to gain control of your strumming, how hard or softly you attack the strings. Without actually seeing your technique, I can give you some tips to improve the sound of your strumming. 1) make sure that your left hand is doing its job first; fingers to the edge, pressing firmly, wrist forward with fingers arched. 2) Don't squeeze your pick too hard, stay relaxed, SUPER RELAXED. 3) Sometimes your going to drop your pick, get use to adjusting its position mid-play. 4) your pick is shaped this way for a reason, allow the sloped edges of the pick to meet the strings, rather than holding it flat. 5) practice the basic quarter note strums, 8th notes, and 16th note strums, then move on to patterns like D,D,U,U,D,U. 6) Know that you don't always strum every string. Your strings are like a drum kit, with the low strings acting as the kick drum and the high strings the snare. I hope these tips help to take you to the next level. All the best. -Rob
Hey Ed White, thats a walkdown transition. Basicaly picking the root of my G chord, 3rd fret E string, then walking down to the F# on the 2nd fret. I have a video on my channel all about walkdowns and walkups. Thanks for watching!
quick question! how many strings do i strum on the upstroke? is it just personal preference or is there technique behind the strum? i love your videos btw, :)
Wow, this is the best guitar tutorial ever. Thank you so much for sharing, it helps a lot. By the way, can I request? I know it's too much to ask but can you do a guitar tutorial of Pearl Jam song called Soldier of Love? Please.. Thank you so much..

AAgh, I serously don't know why my guitar just doesn't sound right. It's properly tuned, I'm hitting all the right chords, my fingers aren't muting any strings but it still sounds off. So I'm not doing anything wrong, neither the guitar yet still it fucking sucks. What the hell.
I won't lie. I hear you more than the original song. You're awesome.

what's the piece over your sound hole?
Kevin Delk tells it like it is I do belive that it is indeed a pick up of some sort, its wired so that you can plug your acoustic to an amp.
ADankSoul thanks. Finally figured it out months later lol.
Kevin Delk tells it like it is well now you know, and knowing is half the battle! GI JOOOOOOOOEEE
Can you add in the bass line from the original version please that lead In makes the song
Just goes to show that good songs don't have to have 12 diff. chords in them to be good :-) Thank's for the lesson.
Hey hawg427, absolutely, less is more. Thanks for being the first to comment!
Te sale muy bien me encanto jajaja me enamore 😍😂😂
Hey Maria, glad you're enjoying this lesson! This is a very important progression and strumming pattern, congrats on taking a huge step forward in your progress as a guitarist! -Rob

Jolt Swan Awesome, glad to have you. Will do!
Rob, I'm a patreon, why can't I print this?
Excuse me, but is that a capo I see over your sound hole?
No that's an electric pickup...so you can plug guitar in to an amplifier.
Oh, most righteous! Thank you for the clarification. This video really has been helping me learn this song better, by the way.
i am searching for Tabs and chords of Last Kiss Pearl Jam. No luck
I simply don’t know why someone with your talent teaches with DUD?? It’s so much easier when you count the strum out
your style I should say ....
Sara B Hey Sarah, you should post a video of your playing at facebook.com/phillyguitarlessons. I'll be able to give you an informed answer.
