I'm going through a really rough time now too. Lost my job and I live in an area where there is not too many jobs to be found. I'm so stressed out that I developed a severe case of shingles which I was shocked to hear that I had. Just know that you are not alone in your stress and struggles. Chris, I too once lived at Canyon where I was working as a research technician on a marten study. Today I work in both GTNP and YNP, so every working day of my life I’m in one park or the other. This video was absolutely captivating. No doubt, this place has many deep, strange mysteries, and I suspect the NPS would just as soon keep them on the down-low. I’d be fascinated by any other accounts of such things in the GYE you can find. Thank you.
Maybe, but he looks like he spends all of his time in his tiny apartment in New York City while using the AI background of every other nature storyteller.
Holy cow the second story was very close to what my son and I experienced at middle rock lake in Oregon. When you have an experience like that it changes how you look at the world.
My husband and I went to Yellowstone for our honeymoon way back in 1976. If I would have known about the volcanos back then I would have refused to go there. My husband wanted to drive all the way to California. We made it as far as Idaho. I got homesick and missed my Mom. I had just turned 18. I just graduated from high school that June. Got married the same month. It’s now 2024 I have finally matured. I have 4 adult grandchildren. I tell them all these stories. They think these stories are funny. There grandpa passed away when the oldest grandson was three. None of them knew him so I tell them stories of everything we did . I’m not so sure they believe I have finally matured though.
Love the stories, Chris! I started solo camping in the "70's. Heard scary sounds along the creek, mostly bobcat screams, which were enough. I have a theory that solves the ENTIRE mystery. Unintelligible vocalizations, menacing huffs, nauseating stench. I believe that these are Rosie O'Donell sightings. Makes sense to me.
I have been in the store where you worked Christ about 10 years ago. I love Yellowstone National Park and have visited 3 times. Would love to see it again! When entering the park and driving down the main roads, it is like looking at America the way the pioneers saw it one hundred + years ago. It is like a different world with all of the lush forests, grass, and wildlife. Such a beautiful place! Thank you for the awesome stories.I
Never mind the pioneers!! Imagine being First Nations!! Living there ALL THE TIME!! Trying & surviving in that wild wilderness.. wow!.. now THATS incredible!! 😵💫😎
I spent 25 years in Wyoming and spent several weeks in Yellowstone every year, including a two week stint fighting fire in 1988. Almost all the time I spent there was in the backcountry. Most residents of Wyoming look at Yellowstone as the complete opposite of wilderness. More like a huge amusement park.
Chris, in 2011 my wife and I stopped at the last pullout on the south end of Jackson Lake so she could take some sunset pictures. Everything was quiet and still as the sun went down and there was nobody else there and no other traffic. As we stood on the shore,, from behind us approximately 100 yards back in the forest there came a single loud wood knock that echoed across the lake! Needless to say our stop was over and we got the heck out of there! Yes, he is present in GTNP….

Great stories, Chris! I was totally captivated listening to you. I remember the other Yellowstone story you told some time back about a retired couple in an RV that encountered one that picked up their RV and terrorized them. Boy, I wonder if that giant caldera ever decides to blow would there be a stampede of animals first, sensing the danger, followed by all the BFs running behind them. Even a small eruption might produce a stampede.😲😲

Thanks for your stories Chris... always enjoy the comments too ! A nice community for sharing! Thanks for doing this for us ! BB from somewhere in Louisiana USA 👍👍🤠
Classic storytelling, Chris. I think you make us all feel a little like kids again in the best way ...stories of mystery, adventure, and nostalgia. I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The forest is only 20 minutes away, so I feel familiar with where a lot of these stories take place. There is so much mystery in and around our forests, forests that have provided and continue to provide the best stories that captivate the imagination.
Excellent video, i look forward to them. The park ranger was brave to tell, most are shut down. When these other encounters happen, it only confirms this. These creatures are real, to many encounters with to many people to explain away. I believe.
I can’t say I wouldn’t like to have a Bigfoot experience; but if I do I will share it with Chris because only he can do it justice; love your art Chris, you are a storyteller of the old ilk!
Mesmerizing, Chris! Wonderful stories! I really enjoyed your cozy cabin and the sound effects. I wonder how many Sasquatch reports the Yellowstone/Grand Teton rangers have received. That overwhelming terror you’ve frequently described in other stories as well is always the most fascinating, most important element to me. Be safe out there!
Never been to YS or GTP but as a kid up in the Yukon Territory and spending a lot of time In the woods, you hear a lot of things you can’t explain and DONT want to. This is my first time on your channel Chris, but I will be back as you tell an in-depth and totally believable story. Thankyou
Hey Chris et. al.......once again another great show!...Thanks for keeping sasquatch in the forefront, I know the forest workers are trying to keep things quiet so as not to spook the public. I think things should be talked about though to keep vistors safe, especially the kids! We would run all over the , campgrounds trails by ourselves and never saw anything dangerous! good storys!

Keep Hiking! C🌲🌲
Glad you like them!🌲⛺️👍
Thanks Chris! Founders makes some good brews!
Thanks Chris, I love the way you tell stories. Thank you!
Excellent video, i look forward to them. The park ranger was brave to tell, most are shut down. When these other encounters happen, it only confirms this. These creatures are real, to many encounters with to many people to explain away. I believe.
Well said
Your channel is the one I get most excited about Chris! Thank you for your awesome stories and storytelling! Safe and happy travels my friend!!
Awesome! Thank you!
@@basecampchris you're welcome!!
I can’t say I wouldn’t like to have a Bigfoot experience; but if I do I will share it with Chris because only he can do it justice; love your art Chris, you are a storyteller of the old ilk!
👍⛺️🌲
Chris, great story telling. Kinda like to go camping and sit around the fire and play this video to friends with me. Scare the snot out of everyone!
Another Great video ❤!!! Frank from Ohio USA 🇺🇸
You are such a wonderful story teller. Always look forward to your next video.
Thank you so much!🌲
Thank You Chris. More great stories. We appreciate the effort you put in on your story telling❤.
You make my weekend :) Thanks for all that you do :)
Wow, thank you!
Never been to YS or GTP but as a kid up in the Yukon Territory and spending a lot of time In the woods, you hear a lot of things you can’t explain and DONT want to. This is my first time on your channel Chris, but I will be back as you tell an in-depth and totally believable story. Thankyou
Eating tacos watching Base Camp Chris ❤🌮
🌮🌮👍
Hey Chris et. al.......once again another great show!...Thanks for keeping sasquatch in the forefront, I know the forest workers are trying to keep things quiet so as not to spook the public. I think things should be talked about though to keep vistors safe, especially the kids! We would run all over the , campgrounds trails by ourselves and never saw anything dangerous! good storys!
Thanks Barbara.👀🍁🌲
