Dude! I love your intro! I'm struggling to imagine your channel without it... It sets the vibe for the rest of the WHOLE video. I don't find it to be distracting when I was binge watching a few series of yours. If you're sick of it because you're seeing it so much in the edit process, I think you should add it as the final touch, if you're not doing that already.
I really like the intro, it's quick and sets you apart and is part of your brand. And thank you for all the great tips, I just recently returned to kit building and your weathering tips are what has inspired me to add 10 kits to the stash and complete another 8, well sort of complete, there's always another layer of weathering I could try. But the intro is great.
You remind me of my uncle, He also used to do models. And he is the one who got me into modelling. Goddamn, i might have gotten a tear in my eye now, May he rest in peace. You even look like him you gracious bastard.
Sad to hear that the intro is going! I thought it had a chill vibe, with the neon light sounds and all. The Nagmachon looked very cool, and the conveyor belt armor ones too. The "what if" tanks were very cool, and I thought the Maus looked really awesome in that color scheme! Kind of looked like the numbers and markings we're made with chalk rather than painted, which is very cool. I hope you go back and paint some of these bad boys up later on!
Besides your obvious talent, I very much enjoy the sound of your voice and your wit. You are a sterling addition to the modelling community, and I look forward to every one of your videos. Thank you so much!
@Cody Sonnet the T-34/85 was faster than the Panther, german tanks are fast in paper but their acceleration is bad which means its harder to get to top speed. Plus when driving the tank the driver must be careful in rough terrain to not break the drive sprockets. Another thing is that the tank isn't perfect nor the first MBT, the frontal armor can easily be penetrated by 100mm guns unlike the Centurion Mk.1 (except for the weak lower plate) and yes the 7.5 cm KwK L/70 was one of the best guns in the war but it didn't have enough penetration to destroy heavy tanks such as the IS-2 Mod. 1944's frontal plate. The gunner also didn't have his own independent sight only having the gunner's sight and the commander can't turn the turret which means it takes longer to point the gun at a target than say an M4A3E8 Easy Eight Sherman. Plus there were alot of reliable issues with the Panther due to its very short development period which all tanks have (Pershings also had reliability issues since many were rushed to put into service in the late war but the 76mm Sherman is by far better than the early pershings in numbers and reliability). The panther also didn't have a stablizer to help it fire on the move or atleast make it fire much more easier so it isn't perfect. At first sight it looks like it has the perfect stats between firepower, armor, and speed. But it isnt and thus the Centurion Mk.1 is the true first Main Battle tank (PLUS the panther was designated as a medium tank and cannot do most tasks that MBTs do while the Centurion Mk.1 is designated as an MBT)
@Cody Sonnet False, the IS-7 was created to defeat the Jagdtiger's 12.8 cm Pak 44, plus the IS-3's armor is 200mm frontally (without the angle taken into account) while the KwK 42's gun can only penetrate at around 185mm at 100 meters with the Pzgr 39/42 APCBC Shell. The Pzgr. 40/42 APCR Shell can only penetrate 200mm from 100 meters to 750 meters as the penetration value for the Pzgr. 40/42 APCR shell loses at 1000 meters with only 199mm of penetrating power (Also remember that we're only talking about the raw armor of the IS-3 aka the 200mm, NOT INCLUDING THE INCREASE IN ARMOR BECAUSE OF THE ANGLE AND THE CHANCES OF BOUNCES). And you still haven't given me a proper reason on why the Panther is an MBT. It is classified as a Medium tank. Also! The intial design for the Panther called for stats within 30 tonnes (aka the tank's transmissions and drive sprockets are made for a 30 ton tank) but due to it being up armored in later varients and the design produce was heavier. More stress was given to the transmission. The weight of the Panther is now 45 Tonnes (production). There were also incidents of the engine not being powerful enough to carry the entire weight of the Panther. The Panther is only superior to a 1v1 against a T-34/85 due to its superior gun range but looking at reality there were more T-34/85s than Panthers. Its like asking if the T-14 Armata was better than the M1A1, and M1A2 Abrams. On a 1v1 its overall superior BUT looking at reality the M1A1 and M1A2 would swarm the T-14 Armatas You people only look at the stats ON PAPER without looking on what the Panther's run was in reality. Plus the Tiger I was overall more reliable than the Panther due to having a much longer development time but the tiger I still had many problems during its service life. Also the IS-2M doesn't exist, it can only be found in the game called World of Tanks which I am guessing you got all your date from. This is the REAL WORLD not a video game. World of tanks isn't even a realistic game (played it before) and the IS-2M is literally a copy paste of the IS-4M that actually existed. Next time please do your own research before replying :)))))

Feels great, I suck almighty ass, but your videos always inspire me and they are awesome, keep them rolling cause lord knows i need all the tips and tricks i can take.
Seeing your muddy T34 reminded me: After watching your series on weld beads and other armor textures, I made my own scratch-built turret for a random Warhammer tank [complete with Leman russ demolisher cannon in a tilting mount using a toothpick for the elevation axle] It looks alot like the turret on that one. I made it from plasticard and a skin of apoxie sculpt, complete with Night Shift style weld beads and armor mottling. It still doesn't have a chassis to mount it, but your vids inspired me to build it regardless. I might actually build an Atlantic wall style pillbox for it, a static defense cannon. I just used 2 mini bases as the template for sizing: a 42mm round base for the front, that I flattened out for the gun mantlet, and a 25mm round for the back, with flat vertical sides also about 25mm tall.
21:40 >>> for someone who kept a very close eye on the Syrian conflict, you really have captured the look of a t-72 straight out of Eastern Ghouta ! seriously, such a beautiful job, well thats if "beautiful" is the right word to describe the extra efforts that went into trying to keep the crews alive, cause at this time of the war, the SAA were suffering greatly ... a cool addition to the build would have been a scratch built Sarab-2 :)
A wonderful collection Uncle! I really like your build skills, which are always completed with an eye to aesthetics, and detail. I particularly like that you do not over-weather your models. They always look authentic, and the weathering always suits the subject. I only started modelling about a year ago, and at 68 years old I was the definition of a ‘newbie’. However, there is a lot of information on TH-cam for someone like myself to assist in the learning process. I like your channel the best however as I have learnt quite a lot watching you build your models, and having applied some of your techniques to my own models, I can honestly say I am improving slowly. Keep the videos coming Uncle, they are a highlight of my weekends (we get them on Saturday here). Cheers from Australia!

The imagination im seeing here! LOVE IT. Every model I do has massive weathering and/or damage. Gone are the days of me thinking everything needed to be show room condition. My favorite is my 1/35 Early production Tiger Diorama using a bombed out town, sunken tracks in mud, german Infantry. Super fun build. Currently Working on a 1/48 HE-111H6 with ground grew re-arming and repairing battle dmg.
Love this video and your channel. Especially the intro!!!! I’m left with some questions...... 1. What’s you favourite model manufacturer and why? 2. What’s your process when you start a new project? How do you plan the for the affect you want to achieve? 3. What’s your favourite real life tank? 4. Do you have a favourite era? 5. What does your kit stash look like!!!!
Wow!!! Thank you so much!!! I'm an artist and these models have etheric art aspect to them. I can feel the essence you put into the construction of them. They have no context, ie diorama, and, as such, sit very nicely in the skin you gave them. You sound critical of your work because you want to please the general populace. Please don't ever talk your creations down. They're awesome!!! They stand alone in your truth and integrity. You did them proud. Much respect bro. 🙏🤎🌹 Always remember, what people think of you is none of your business. Be true to your vision. Sit with that. Love, Light and Blessings from New Zealand bro
This community is lucky too have you man. Thank you for making these videos. Thank you for sharing your hard work and experience with all of us. They have helped me a lot. Just wanted to say that.
We love the intro! please do not remove the intro Martin, it's like walking to a calm bar at night after a long day at work when I get home and start watching your videos, and for me my favorite from all always your MAUS !!! thanks for making this videos.
Your D9R introduced 13 year old me to your models, when I bought an issue of "Military Modelcraft International" on a trip to London in 2014. I've been in awe of the build ever since! (It's actually my favourite rendition of it). You've done so many great models!
Yes, Soviet tanks from Iraq during Desert Storm would be great. The battle of 73 Easting or the Highway of Death are great sources for this, as is the current debacle in Ukraine. Or, he could do WW2 to Modern T-34/85s in pretty much any conflict they were involved in, as destroyed and burned out is kind of their natural state! LOL
That O-I Superheavy looks amazing. Might have to try my (inexperienced) hand at it after I finish my Modelcollect P. 1000. Your videos have helped me immensely in building
I as well will miss the intro, I will miss next Friday, but will look forward to the Friday after that. Me and my friend call each other after seeing your videos and discuss the details. We look forward to trying your techniques. I may have to try several times, I'm not that good. Lol.
you can tell hes a real model guy. not because all the paint and setup in back ground. but because he shows a old model says "i rushed and it looks bad" . the model shown, better then what i could ever do right now. every model maker has this feel about their work.
I know about YT algorithm you cannot answer to czech comments or comments in Czech or Slovakia language so I try write it in eng. xD. I love your work also you humor and jokes. You're the best type of model maker (builder) coz u show everything and every single part of build process. Thank you for your work and your YT channel ! Greetings from Czech republic !
Enjoy the videos and tutorials. The intro is kinda nostalgic for me. I'm old enough to remember neon lights. Look forward to the next build. Be Good Stay Safe
Thank you for showing the progress that you have made over the years! I will miss the intro, but if it's the way that is best for you I'll still come to learn from your videos
Okay, intro defending club, rally up! That neon intro is absolutely perfect and we want it! And by "we" i mean "I" want it!!! Also, that Churchill GC is 140% dope, very interesting rendition of this dumb vehicle! Other projects are bad-ass by default, but GC... it needs real love to do something so great! :)
Your "trash" models are better than all my models put together. Thanks for all the inspiration. I will definitely put more time and courage into my building and paint/ weathering. Well done.
That nagmachon is the gnarliest model ever. I've never seen a model that just doesn't need painting like that one. I wish I had the patience to make something like that.
12:48 the handwriting is very convincing. it is a challenge to make something like handwriting look like it was done by tiny human hands. and the drips look awesome. it really looks convincing. if i saw that Maus just as a black and white photo, i never would realize it was a model.
I like them all really, but that tractor/excavator caught my eye. It looks great, but it is so different from what i've seen you model. A nice change of pace!
as a simple intro, just put your logo on your work bench and you can pass the camera over it as you open up with your dialogue. and you can mix it up by having it somewhere in the background while you explain your materials and model before the video task.
your Syrian T72 actually inspired me to begin my first serious kit conversion in 72nd scale so thank you! And I was wondering how the heck you managed to make rebars on it?
Alright, I hear y'all! I'll keep the intro then 😁

3. What’s your favourite real life tank?
4. Do you have a favourite era?
5. What does your kit stash look like!!!!
I like the intro, it gives me the feeling of "Night Shift is about to make a rad model"
Keep up the outstanding work/model building.
Thank you
Duuuude! Not the intro! Gonna miss it....once again, a great video, a pleasure to watch you! Cheers!
never skipped your intro, like that you had the intro, was a nice personal touch.
I'd love to see you paint a wrecked model, maybe a diorama. Your stuff inspires me to always get better and try new techniques!
LOL
The welding bead on the Gun carriage blew me away, as a welder and a novice modeler, that's insane. Great work
That O-I Superheavy looks amazing. Might have to try my (inexperienced) hand at it after I finish my Modelcollect P. 1000. Your videos have helped me immensely in building
All of them! Your sooo amazing dude. I hope I can get to the level your at!
I, for one, am thrilled you make videos. Any model you build is fine with me.
seriously consider leaving that quick intro in
I as well will miss the intro, I will miss next Friday, but will look forward to the Friday after that. Me and my friend call each other after seeing your videos and discuss the details. We look forward to trying your techniques. I may have to try several times, I'm not that good. Lol.
Fascinantes carros de guerra. Os tanques são quase imbatíveis. Valeu a postagem cara!
Dear Martin, I love the old intro! The overview of your collection was amazing and very inspirational! Keep safe & well. Kind Regards Johnny
you can tell hes a real model guy. not because all the paint and setup in back ground. but because he shows a old model says "i rushed and it looks bad" . the model shown, better then what i could ever do right now. every model maker has this feel about their work.
Mans really said "imma be the next Adam wilder". On the first model.
When night shifts worst model is literally 100x better than your best model
I know about YT algorithm you cannot answer to czech comments or comments in Czech or Slovakia language so I try write it in eng. xD. I love your work also you humor and jokes. You're the best type of model maker (builder) coz u show everything and every single part of build process. Thank you for your work and your YT channel ! Greetings from Czech republic !
hell he says "its his worst" and looks mint, hell i cant even paint
I love coming back again and again to watch this video, it's just so cool to see everything you've made. I hope you make another at some point!
Wow Martin thank you for sharing your collection with us
Great artist!!!!
This is the type of video that you can watch over and over again.
You're kits look absolutely Awesome man!
that Maus is fantastic. The crewman really sets it off and gives a great idea of scale.
Your "trash" models are better than all my models put together. Thanks for all the inspiration. I will definitely put more time and courage into my building and paint/ weathering. Well done.
The 3" Gun Carrier doesn't get much love. Has to be a first. Kudos!
That 3 inch Gun Carrier looks amazing
Darn, I kind of like the opening it was unique.
That nagmachon is the gnarliest model ever. I've never seen a model that just doesn't need painting like that one. I wish I had the patience to make something like that.
Oh boy!!! That first model! Massive! :)
12:48 the handwriting is very convincing. it is a challenge to make something like handwriting look like it was done by tiny human hands. and the drips look awesome. it really looks convincing. if i saw that Maus just as a black and white photo, i never would realize it was a model.
The amount of hand gestures gives me happyness
The NEON SIGN intro is the *Only* intro on TH-cam that doesn't annoy the shit out of me. It's clear, short and unique. I'm glad you kept it.
just found you channel today and pretty much spent the whole day watching your videos. keep up the good work!!
Don't normally try to tell creators what to do or even suggest things but PLEASE keep the intro. I think it works so well!
Keep the intro its awesome! To most of us its a sound of a friday evening !
A great laid back video. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
Beautiful Tracks! Thank you for sharing your models.
Really sad that the intro is gone, and please make something snowy!
U should be a TH-camr.y our name is to perfect for a NO.
Yeah! I really enjoyed this vid.
Peace&Love&Rock'n'roll.
I love the intro. Glad you kept it.
Maus v továrních barvách je absolutně super!
I like them all really, but that tractor/excavator caught my eye. It looks great, but it is so different from what i've seen you model. A nice change of pace!
I just love to watch your models whem im bored. They look soooo good. I wish i could build models like you but i have no time or money.
There’s a lot of inspiration here! Thanks for sharing, my friend
Apart from your chanel be one of the best, the intro is a real point of difference, change is good but this don't need changing!👍
I kept seeing models and saying "This is my favorite!"... Every time! 👏👏👏👏👏
As a big Churchill fan, that Gun Carrier looks stunning
This was cool to see. Thanks.
as a simple intro, just put your logo on your work bench and you can pass the camera over it as you open up with your dialogue. and you can mix it up by having it somewhere in the background while you explain your materials and model before the video task.
Amazing I love your channel
Simply amazing display of modeling skills. Thanks!
I will miss your Night Shift opening! Loved the visual and electronic crackling ping noise.
your Syrian T72 actually inspired me to begin my first serious kit conversion in 72nd scale so thank you!
And I was wondering how the heck you managed to make rebars on it?
All your builds are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and your video is joyable to watch. : )
The models are so detailed and amazing
...Great to finally see what you look like!!!
