Hello Jason McNamara! Thank you for your interest in our products! SurfaceONE can also work without its laser. Just center your target in the frame from two different angles as shown in the video and you are good to go. That way, you don’t have to worry about the laser distance! Cheers!

I am thinking that if I was to put it on some kind of a track the Surface One could be used well over quite a long distance much longer than any slider could travel. I had an idea for how to use this in more situations: Buy a cheap slider, and install a flat, wooden plank to it, over the rails. 24"-36" slider and wooden plank. That way it can slide like the SliderPlus w/ motion but for much less money. Haven't thought it all through yet, but maybe you can even snap a plank to each side, giving you much more space for the SurfaceOne to do more than just a straight line.

My Gx80 has micro usb and hdmi port... :/ i dont have any jack in :/ Iam lookin in google but even him :P dont know my gx80 has a trogger shutter port :/
Don't you agree that it is pretty obvious how they cut out the moment the SurfaceONE stops riding? Is it because it is not 100% smooth when it comes to a stop maybe? The noise is pretty disturbing too when you'd like to record audio. Sounds like a construction crane moving tons of bricks around a buildingsite. I think this needs some more development before placing it into the market for a stunning price like this ... In a few months the Chinese will come up with something simular ...
Nice innovation, for when smooth surfaces at the desired height are available. For tripods, the sliderOne+motionmodule is good.
