Thank you for this video David. The GX85(as known in North America) is a super M43 body. Small and lightweight. There are a lot of Olympus, Panasonic, and third party lenses available. Some people adapt film era lenses to these bodies. I was sucked into the GX world. Upgraded to the GX9. The improvements are incremental. Can’t see the difference between the 16MP the GX 85 has and the 20MP of the GX8/9. I do love the L monochrome D B&W jpeg from the G/GX9. Then a couple months ago the local camera store had a GX8 at a great price so I had to buy it. GX8/85/9 are super M43 bodies. Small enough to be an EDC. Lots of video features. They are Panasonic bodies. What do you expect? Good IBIS. I wish the GX85/9(next generation GX7, not GX8) had an audio jac. Even a 2.5mm would be nice. Come on Panasonic. The autofocus on these cameras are good for photography. The DFD is contrast detect. Maybe some in & out until the subject is acquired. This is done quickly and accurately. DFD never was good enough for video. The focus was not very sticky. I eagerly await PDAF in an updated GX model. I want the audio jac more than the PDAF but both are needed. Hard to believe there are some new GX85 bodies for sale. Panasonic has thrown in two kit zoom lenses in this package. If you don’t have M43 glass this is a killer deal. I am so glad I purchased the GX85. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Been using a gx80 and the small 12-42 lens as my point and shoot style camera that’s always with me and had some amazing photos especially in l mono , great video as usual
Thanks very much. I’ve been using the in camera mono modes with a few tweaks and it actually looks really nice. I might make a video about that at some point. Thanks for watching 🖖
I missed this one David, nice set of shots, I'll be interested to see your video about the GX80 - I can probably predict some of the stuff you'll say about it as I use 2 of them myself (still really tempted by an EM1 MkII). I'll get round to watching your Helios video later on.
Ah no worries, Tim. I appreciate you watching at all mate. So far my notes on the gx80 are fairly positive. 1: I love it 2:yep, definitely love it 3: still prefer lumix menus and love it. It’s gonna be a really unbiased video 🖖😂
Great video Dave, format is spot on 👌 One of my favourite local spots and you got some really nice atmospheric images of the low lights, you've made me want to go back! Really look forward to your videos 👍🏻
I've honestly been debating downsizing and selling my Olympus E-M1X and picking up a Lumix GX9 or even a GX8. I want to keep 4k recording otherwise I'd pick up a Pen F. OM-5 is in the air too.
The gx80 is great and has that 4k video. I almost went with the gx8 mainly because of the tilty evf, but I got the GX80 for a steal. Thanks for watching 🖖
Would you mind sharing how does it’s viewfinder compare to em10mkII? I used to have oly and am now reconsidering repurchasing however I am torn between em10II and gx80. Any advise? Pros, cons?
On paper the gx80 has the edge with a slightly higher resolution evf, but to my eye, the Olympus is a bit clearer, not a lot and if I wasn’t intentionally looking for it, I would have probably never noticed. Overall the gx80 is the slightly more advanced camera all round with 4k video, in camera focus stacking etc, but it’s very close between these two.
Thank you for this video David.

Thanks for taking us along David - really enjoyed that!
Thanks for watching, Peter.
Have a great weekend 🖖
The red lighthouse pic was lovely - so, when are you doing, John, George & Ringo POVs? 🤣
Haha, hopefully I’ll get to the other Beatles very soon🤣
Great format David, really enjoyed that, thanks for making this 🖖
Thanks for watching. Have a good one 🖖😁

Quite fortuitous getting the sunset time wrong in the end, The twin lighthouses image was very striking as were the barges. Cheers
Great to experience your photographic process. PS - I love your pictures!
Very kind of you. Thanks for watching 🖖

Really look forward to your videos 👍🏻
Really appreciate that mate. It’s a surprisingly photogenic little spot.
Have a good one 🖖
Back at ya!@@DavidFlowerOfficial
Spot on mate. Great video again. Love the phone box photo with the light. Loving the format as well mate suits the video
Thanks, mate. I expect it would have been even better if I hadn’t screwed the time of sunset 😂
@@DavidFlowerOfficial all part of the comedy value haha
Beautiful images 🖖🏻
Thanks, Alex🖖😁
@@DavidFlowerOfficial you’re welcome 🖖🏻

What lens were you using in this video (photos)
Everything was shot using the lumix Leica 12-60mm🖖
Any particular reason why you don’t seem to be using the EVF here? :)
Not really. Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don’t. With cameras with tilty screens I quite often shoot from the hip style🖖
@@DavidFlowerOfficial OK, thanks David!

@@DavidFlowerOfficial thank you soo much, yeah, on paper.... Thanks for real life answer
Unless you intend to shoot video, I think you’d be very happy with either camera🖖
