The Miracle of Newman's Canonisation: Melissa's Story

For someone to be declared a saint by the Church, the Vatican must approve two miracles to them. For Cardinal John Henry Newman, that second miracle occurred in the life of Chicagoan and mother of seven, Melissa Villalobos. Melissa prayed to Cardinal Newman and sought his intercession often. I recently attended a discussion where it was mentioned that she developed a deep admiration for him after watching a TV episode about his life. Over the next few years, she built a connection with him by reading about him. I believe the lesson here is, when a saint invites us to form a bond, we should be receptive. This relationship can serve as a pathway to bring us closer to God.
