I had never heard this speech before, and I've been a dear devotee of Cardinal Newman since 2011. I was so excited in 2019 when I heard he was to be canonized. I'd never seen this video. This was beautiful coming from a Protestant. Thank you, sir. As a Catholic I shall always pray for now-King Charles. Always.
Amazing story! Id love to know what inspired her to ask Cardinal Newman specifically for help in that moment.
I recently attended a discussion where it was mentioned that she developed a deep admiration for him after watching a TV episode about his life. Over the next few years, she built a connection with him by reading about him. I believe the lesson here is, when a saint invites us to form a bond, we should be receptive. This relationship can serve as a pathway to bring us closer to God.
Thank you for this insight into Newman’s spiritualism.

Who cares what Protestants say? Can Scott Hahn continue being Catholic practicing thecfaith thexwsy itcwas 100 years ago. No. He could not. If Moder Catholicism was nit Protesantized at Vatican II by modernists he could not stand the faith nor would he proclaim it. Sigh...just listen to him. Hes more grateful to his protestism then on the day(s) he was converted and v ordained cuz now he can spread his protestant heresies throughout tge Church particularly to the laity. I an praying for his true conversion daily.
Father Mike Shmitz , you are an example of living a life of purpose and saying yes to God,I think you are well on your way to sainthood. You really are an inspiring young priest to listen to and are inspiring many to follow Jesus.
