This is the third video in the Music Theory Quickie series. In this video, we'll explore the distance between any two pitches, which is what we call an interval. Intervals serve as the fundamental elements for constructing scales and chords. Don't miss out on those. This video requires the knowledge from the first video of this series, Nr.1 "Note Names", it's quite short, start here: shorturl.at/euwB8 :)

    Note:
    (1) The augmented fourth is commonly referred to as the 'true tritone,' but due to the temperament system, its enharmonic equivalent (flatted fifth) is also six semitones away from the root, hence it is referred to as the enharmonic equivalent.
    (2) At 1:41, I mention that the octave shares a similar function with the root. This implies that, for interval analysis at this juncture, our focus will primarily be within the span of one octave, and we won't differentiate between intervals that are, for example, a major second plus an octave away. For our analysis, any interval larger than an octave will be considered the same as its equivalent an octave lower.
