I’m really liking the primitive focus. Tek honestly killed off a lot of enjoyment in the game for me so I’m looking forward to seeing how they can expand the simplified systems of the Stone Age
then play primitive plus. or they should have begginer maps that certain dinosaurs and technology can't be used on. they're taking away all guns and probably the bow and arrow.
@@miceman4927 Primitive plus was good but... it's unfinished. They just literally never finished it. An entire section of the material was unavailable because the forge wasn't coded to process them. It was sad.

Yeah, I didn't mind stuff like the machine gun or chainsaw but the Tek stuff was just too much. It just killed the vibe of the game.
I have high hopes for this game hopefully it's not just a campaign and you can actually go around and do whatever you want like in the first game and I also hope they add new animals
if it has missions where you have to go to people and talk to them like in dying light im going to puke, the lore in ark 1 works so good and and you can do whatever you want you dont have to do fucking missions

I hope they give the dinosaurs more personality, like maybe social animals could idly talk to each other (like the raptors in this trailer), or you could teach them tricks and new skills over time, idk it would be nice if they were more alive in this one than in the first, like you could actually bond with your pet and see your relationship develop with it, in the first they didn't really feel "alive" like actual creatures, the closest thing we got to that was imprinting on babies. Idk just they felt more like trophies that you collect in late game and not like living beings
I would love that, I never felt attached to the dinos I tamed and if I ever did and the Dino died I'd always think "eh, it's fine I can easily replace it" after being sad,

What if it's sort of like how the Sims does it in a way?
Say there are 10 personality types, each dino will be randomly given three personality types however the personalities can't overlap each other (for example, a dino can't be caring and mean at the same time)
@@rextheraptor285 heck yeah it would add so much more depth to the game and actually make you feel bad about losing a dino. Maybe even the personality traits could add tiny buffs to the dinos, like what an imprinted dino has in ark 1, (but maybe on a smaller scale so it wouldn't be op, but it would be an incentive to breed for different personalities) like if you have a hyper dino it's base stamina is boosted by 3% or something
@@heidimcquay3219 yeah!! Like if you get a dino with a mean personality trait they could have a 3-4℅ strength buff, That would be great, it would also make the dino seem less like a fighting and more so a pet/an actual animal.
And saying as how (from what I've heard) they're making the dinos AI smarter this isn't an impossible capability. Hell, they're probably already thinking about adding something like this to the game.
A change I'd love is if wild dino's had a hunger bar. So carnivores wouldn't go after every other dino for no reason.
Also if wild dinos had fall damage and overall a better fight system other than stand in 1 place and see who has higher stats.
I've seen Minecraft mods implement hunger systems onto creatures. So I don't see why Ark wouldn't be able to do that.

The blend of mythical creatures and dinosaurs in the first game was one of the coolest ideas ever. I hope they dial back the tek shit and obnoxiously overpowered creatures that came later. That stuff kinda killed the game for me.

A souls like combat would be amazing for this, and the parkour climbing is amazing too! I really hope all this is true. It's the whole reason I like Conan's Exiles combat more than Arks. Plus u can climb in Conan which was something I wish I could do in Ark. Amazing stuff.

I love ark, even with all its flaws, if you can squash half the bugs and exploits that currently live in ark, it will be without a doubt the greatest game of all times, please invest in some serious coders to build the core of the game systems, no more meshing, duping and all that nasty stuff. I have high hopes for this, don't let us down please.

i hope they allow dinos to walk over obstacles better because when i play ark they get stuck on every little thing in there way. I also hope that they add group leveling (like when you have a group of small dinos you can level them all up at once.

And it had massive success even though the game was in bad shape the core mechanics were great which lead to them to grow there team and even add vin diesel as there protagonists in the game. There making big moves. At the end of the day this games proabably going to be 10x better then the first no doubt.

1.) More tool tiers instead of the just stone and metal. Always thought it was weird how there is over 100 levels of engrams and only two tiers of tools
2.) More useful and meaningful attachments for weapons
3.) Just better optimization in general

From what I know some of the new features include an overhauled combat system and the dinos are gonna get a hellova lot smarter. Like you will be able to hide from them and shit but they will be able to track you and actually work their way around any obstacles you may build to keep them away.

The biggest reason I am excited for Ark 2 is a lot of the problems of Ark are... kinda baked into the original framework of the game. The game is good. It has so much potential that's being limited by these issues. a full rebuild of the engine, and addressing the ingrained issues of Ark being a possibility makes me extremely excited and I really hope Wild Card hits the marks on that!

ARK 2 will have cars in it, Specifically a Muscle Car and We will go fast and furious across the Map with Family
Ok most importantly, dodos have made it to the sequel. Everything else is irrelevant.
Seriously tho, really excited with the new looks of all the creatures shown. They look great, an I hope that other long time creatures in Ark like the mammoth, terror bird, saber or quetzal get these same improved, more realistic primal looks as well.
I hope that new modles are going to be more realistic like deinonychus he should be smaller. And one thing i cant wait to see please make spino more realistic

I hope they also play with where dinos spawn. I felt like the areas in the first game were too crowded if that makes sense. Or there was too much variety in one area. We should have migrating herds, naturally born babies, hunting ect. And the dinos could be in one area at a certain “season” and move to another. So if you want a specific Dino you could wait for them to come to you or go find them. Also making everything less. Aggressive? Idk, feels too static for me. Like if a Rex or a pack of wolves just got done hunting they shouldnt target you unless you stick around or get to close maybe since then they’d see you as a threat or something. Maybe certain dinos work with eachother or even Rex Vs Rex fights. Ect. There’s so many possibilities for making it feel more alive. I’d also like more ways to build and more freedom. I always hated the limitation.
Edit: adding to this, it’d be cool if there was a risk to taking babies. Since I’m the wild they’d probably be more curious of you ( they haven’t learned humans should be feared ) and they arnt aggressive by default and can be “tamed” or made to follow you through certain actions. ( or just by straight up picking them up. Attaching something like a lead to them ect ) and the parents ( or maybe in the case of a pack animal like the dire wolves ) will after some time notice and start tracking you which could be shown as an alert and seen on your map where they are in relation to you. I feel like it would add some more risk to stealing dragon eggs for example or a dire wolf pup. Aggressive animals will attack you on sight if they see you with their baby and more passive ones like a stego or parasaur will just take the baby back/stand it’s ground to keep you away. Kinda like how the mating pair of Rex’s in Jurassic park chased down what’s their name after they stole an egg unknowingly. Evidence is highly likely that they would care for their young like that. It’d also be neat ( and kinda sad ) to see mourning if you kill one of the dinos if their a mated pair and maybe the other Dino gets a rage boost of some sort due to that. Again more risk but it makes them feel more alive. Like your actions effect the world around you. Dinos could start to fear you more the further you progress. Like, why would a level 5 trike try to go against a level 50 tamed Rex? It’s suicide. We should have smarter dinos that can decide if it’s better to fight or run.

To be honest the Stockholm syndrome way of taming was good enough for your run of the mill survival game, but Ark II is building on a legacy now and I'd like to see multiple ways of taming animals.
Capturing babies and saving animals are two ways with which wild animals get tamed even today. Making them trust you by providing food is another one.
Knocking them out and then feeding them seems a bit heavy handed.
This is good and all but expect a LOT OF LAG. Especially on mobile. Most devices can’t process this amount of complex coding and information, similar to Microsoft flight simulator. Also, why did u mention babies wouldn’t know humans are feared, why would the humans be feared. Literally every dinosaur eats them lol.

I kind of missed the golden era for ark 1 as my pc was just too bad until pretty recently. i bought it way back but never got to play it. therefor there is still that itch and i cant wait to spend 100s of hours on ark 2.

@@ABC_Master I actually hope they remove the leveling system on dinos completely, that is the single most OP and unnecessary system ark has.
Instead they could add attachments to the dinos like metal spikes for trike horns that increases their attack. I mean a single raptor shouldn't be able to kill a t-rex and with so much ease at that.
And also hoping for better AI on the dinos so that they'd be more realistic.

@@georgioshoulis7861 A great way to fix this would be to make VR more accessible. The VR community is very small but that isn't because people don't want to play VR, it's because the cheapest headset is 400 $, which isn't a price that many people can pay

Ngl, my emotional ass wanted to cry. It's so nice to be listened to by developers and have them implement community ideas into their game like this. The saddle/armor concept looks so amazing, along with everything else I've seen for ark 2. Ark 1 has been my favorite game since about 2016-2017 and I'm beyond excited to see yet another masterpiece.

@@alexpepin3246 and the biggest Problem were, on official you had to play gen2 because otherwise you had so many disadvantages. And i hope there will be more than one official Server that wipe. Like 1x Server that wipe every year small that wipe every 6 months

I hope the game is amazing, take another year if ya'll want if it means the game will come out in perfect condition, ark 1 was such a mess for a long time yet still one of the coolest games I've played, hope they learnt from thier mistakes and built a more stable foundation for the game. I also hope the dinosaurs have more than 5 IQ and they just dont go about killing every thing in sight, they actually strategise and hunt like actual animals, I know its alot to ask but alot of people are looking forward to this game

Yes but tek was really awesome, and it gave you some type of end game goal for your character. You can only get so primitive. I love the addition of technology and eventually tek. It was so much fun to get it. The biggest changes they need in my opinion would be the optimization. The game needs far less bugs, especially the crash bugs. And honestly I believe there should be a lot less grinding involved in the game because I've heard of some people taking up to a year to have enough stuff to go after the game bosses on official settings, there's someone with a job and other hobbies besides gaming I can't just dedicate a whole year to a game because I'm not a sad no lifer who lives in the basement.
@@guitarsandcars2586 optimization for sure needs to be better but if the game is built from the ground up this time then hopefully they'll show us they learned something in the 7+ years of ark 1, also for a more primitive game the combat needs an overhaul for dinos and humans maybe a mix of dark souls style for humans and perhaps isle evrima or path of titans for dinos. Honestly I'll miss tek but I can see why they’re keeping it primitive since the metal and tek tier invalidated all other tiers bellow them so new players had no real way of fighting back. I do hope though bosses will drop remnants of those technology stages but not enough for it to make you untouchable.

I have high hopes for ARK 2. After a success experiment that was ARK, I expect ARK 2 to rectify issues of the first game. Devs said the gameplay loop will be mostly the same, which I am fine with, but if that's the case then I hope all this development time went into making the game actually functional and optmimized. Let alone the file size, if that doesn't decrease then I'll be sorely disappointed.

Yeah they need to add proper compression because the Original game with all DLC/maps is like 240GB of storage. If they cannot compress then they need to have a alternative Version of the game with the high res textures as optional download and have the standard version with lower res vanilla textures. have a normal sized game thats 70-80GB then add the HD textures as DLC for anyone who wants them at the cost of 400gb of their storage.

I have been playing Ark since it first came to PlayStation. Through all the endless delays, crashes, bugs, rollbacks, meshing, etc., Ark is still my favourite game of all time with most of my gaming hours.

@@iiiiajaxiiii The game is being released in early access so the devs will take on feedback as necessary. I have a feeling due to the overwhelming negative response to the third person only change, the devs may make first person an option again. It might’ve to to be third person because of the new ‘souls like pvp mechanics’ so it’s likely that it could stay this way. However if they don’t add in first person, the game will still be extremely enjoyable and very little will be taken away from the experience. There is too much to be excited about such as the new Dino AI’s with hunting and tracking, to be bummed by no first person. That’s my thoughts on it.

They are implementing your wishes, crafting is being improved with saveable templates and other stuff, Dino AIs much more smarter with hunting based on sense and smell, sleep cycles introduced. Can’t knock the effort they’re putting in.

Ark one was the game that was always close enough to the dream game, It had the concept of that dream game I've always wanted, but the mechanics weren't quite there.
I have been SO excited for this, it sounds like t h e dream game I've wanted, I'm getting it as soon as it comes out.
It doesn't even have 1st person perspective. Read up on the game, so you can make an informed decision.
be careful buddy, wildcard isn't the best company. they released the game "Atlas" with a very cool trailer but it ended up being a literal ARK reskin, sold as a seperate game. It was full of glitches and the promises wildcard made were not met.

the creature animations suck in the current Ark. Hopefully on this one they revamp the entire game engine and start anew. Pray to goodness they improve upon the mechanics FIRST. Otherwise, it would just be a reskin of the original bugged Ark.
@@xShikari In one of the statements on the updates, it included that some of the features would be an easy way to switch from 3rd to 1st person, as well as other mechanics such as mounting and such
