I did this a few years ago and ran into the issue of needing a better power supply. So i built my own that put out 14v with 500amps. Just did this with only my friends old Xbox one power brick to run a cheap car amp that’s more than 20 years old to power 2 big ass stage monitors his dad used for his drum set 😂Took speaker wire from the front outputs on a receiver we had to a line output converter, rca from the loc to the amp and voila the woofers in the monitors actually do bass now. Got two Sony bookshelf speakers we weren’t using in the rear We got a Bluetooth turntable on one input, his tv on another, and a cd player in a third all of it works beautifully It only costed 26 dollars and the price of 100ft of speaker wire as the whole old Sony stack of receiver, tape player, cd etc was in his garage for the last 15+ years as well as the monitors.
Lol I used to have 4 power supplies on a 1000 watt amp 😂 any less and it would start turning them off. None the less, I would recommend more power supplies if you can get any more. But awesome video, nice setup!
I did this as well, i got the power supply at my local game shop for real cheap, $25. Yellow is power and black is ground. Easy peezy. Works great. Using a receiver to some decent speakers which is great, better than this guys set up, only because of his speakers.
Xbox? A bit confused... so you just run the yellow wire to your amp like the power wire that normally would come from your car battery? And that's all you gotta do?
Should do a video using server power supplies. Used to have 6 xbox 360 power supplies for 2 of my amps. Anytime my amps reached about 75% volume theyd turn off, or explosions from movies would just turn off mid explosion. But i found out server power supplies are cheap, easy to hack and give more amperage than Xbox 360 power supplies. Running my setup with a 2600w ps, more than enough for 2 of my amps to not turn off at max.
Snuper it won’t sound as good but yes, kind of. I’m running my 2 tens in my trunk just spliced into the rear speaker wires; no amp. Each positive and negative speaker wire on each side is normally connected to a single 6x9 each, but now powers a 10” sub and a 6x9 for each pair of positive and negative wires. 2 6x9s and 2 10’s, no amp, straight to an aftermarket pioneer radio. Works fine, solid bass, no issues. Wiring it up with an amp soon to get optimum bass soon.
Snuper It would defo work, but avrs dont really have the power to drive subs. You could hook it up to the B speaker outputs if your avr has that. Also it wouldn’t be crossed over so wouldnt sound great. Best way is to get a 120/240v power amp and hook it up to the sub preout on your avr, then power your sub with that

Its a terrible idea to power your high amperage amplifier with such a bullshit unit as xbox 360 power unit, just look how tiny these cables are, man!
Use a battery instead then and Hook a charger to it lol
And how loud does it play on 12v
Not very
12v is a car battery voltage sometimes 12.6 or even 14 volts the power cap is reading 14 volts so its getting more than enough power all depends on the wattage of the subwoofer if it was 1200w it would be loud
Not enough power and bass
Add a battery with a changer same concept just with a battery and charger going to the battery
