I found it funny how the same year symphony of the night for the PlayStation and SEGA Saturn came out they still made a game on the game boy, it’s weird how they used the most powerful tech at the time and still used probably one of the least powerful tech at the time in the same year
And in the end, both games were pretty great
Gameboy was the most reliable portable console avaialable. It's battery lasted longer than any other in it's day.

Sinfully underrated Castlevania classic, as well as the fact that Sonya Belmont is not canon to the lore which also makes me sad. But that won't stop me from loving this game.

@@Ryan-PetreCastlevania harmony of despair is not as good to people as Symphony of the Night. Just because there are so many other great entries doesn't mean that this one or others like Harmony of Despair are horrible. I think you should play more Castlevania to see the titles that are actually awful. Like the original Castlevania "The Adventure" on the GB. They made a remake called rebirth that made it better and put it at the same greatness as this game, possibly better!
@@overipecanine1485 I've played all the classic Cas games and I can assure you Legends is one of the worst. Adventure is mostly bad due to it's slow speed and terrible mechanics, but at least there's a level of intelligence behind that game's level design that at least makes it respectable. Legends isn't quite as bad as Adventure but it's almost might be. The levels are generic and mindlessly filled with endlessly respawning enemies, literally every single section of the game with those goddamn bats. There are almost no unique set pieces or obstacles, and the bosses are pretty much invalidated by the ultra OP invisibility mechanic. It's an incredibly sloppily designed game. Compared to Belmont's Revenge it's trash.
Man this version goes HARD for a gameboy game, I love it.

2. It's a loose remake of Bloody Tears, you can hear it at several spots in the song. Bloody Tears is also the official name of this track as well, so even if it sounded nothing like the CV2 Bloody Tears... we're stuck calling it that. :)
3. To the best of my understanding, all Game Boy music is 4-bit.
This is definitely my favorite version of the song.

the gameboy soundchip is 4 bit with 4bit dac,for fm,only 1 bit is needed per fm.
the graphics are 2 bits.
but since the cpu itself is 8bit,we simply refer those tunes on gameboy as 8bit!!
i like this remix of bloody tears well with more speeded up tempo and abit extended.

I'm not sure where 10-bit came from, but a common misconception about game boy audio is that it is '8-bit'. The technical details are a bit above my head, but every reliable source details the game boy as having '4-bit' audio.
The bits are kind of irrelevant though. You can have 8-bit FM synthesis (MSX), 8-bit samples (Amiga), PSG (SMS) or whatever. The *type* of synthesis used determines what these systems really sound like moreso than the number of bits. That much I do know. :)

"Bits" can mean a ton of things. Most hd cameras have 8 bits of color depth and for a long time 10 or 12 bits of color were considered not recognizable by the eye.

Since Sonya is canonically the earliest Belmont we know, she is the grandmother of the rest.
But the line Alucard says to her is if the baby her and Alucard had together is doing okay.
Making the rest of the Belmont's in the bloodline related to Dracula.
(Edit) That would also mean the rest of the kids would have some vampiric powers but they don't

He's no longer involved so this could be canon again if Konami ever felt like making it canon. It's all up them at this point. This game could still fit with some tinkering here and there even with the official origin story being what happened in Lament of Innocence now.
@@alucard624 You're both missing the point. They can't just make it canon. The reason it's not is because Dracula's backstory in this game contradicts both SotN and Lament of Innocence, which IGA made. Almost every Catlevania game made afterwards directly references both of those games.
This could have only been canon if no other Castlevania games were made after Rondo of Blood and Bloodlines.

if Belmonts were descendants of Alucard, then they would be to some extent dhampirs, which would make Vampire killer itself effective against them and they would also have some vampiric powers, which they don't
