I will be so glad when I move out of my apartment. Soon as someone moves out with a running child another one moves in with another running child over my head. It is horrible and so inconsiderate of the parents. This my first and last apartment from hell.
My husband have lived in apartment hell for ten years . In six months from now we are moving to a very quiet all senior community . Every one that lives there has told us it’s never loud . I am very excited. My health isn’t good and I am sleep deprived because of where I live. Pray I can survive six more months of day and night party central until me and my husband move from hell to heaven. Not long ago as I was minding my own business. I saw a young woman almost fall down a flight of stairs . I asked her are you alright sweetie do you want me to call some help for you. She turned around flipped me off and then said.... well never mind what she said . That however is rather mild compared to what happens here at Drug Cartel flats. You never know when you may here about the next murder...... I WONT BE HERE IN SIX MONTHS FROM NOW I WILL BE IN THE SWEETEST LITTLE ALL SENIOR NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE NEVER A COP HAS EVER HAD TO GO. WE ARE LEAVING A 1000 SQUARE FOOT APARTMENT GOING TO A 780 SQUARE FOOT APARTMENT .....AND WE DONT CARE! The wait list was long for these very quiet senior apartments....WE HAVE JUST SIX MORE MONTHS BEFORE WE LEAVE HELL! I MIGHT HAVE TO POST A VIDEO OF ME DAMCING ON THE TABLE WHEN WE GET THERE ,
I can so relate to ALL of this--I've lived in 4 apartment complexes now & NONE of them are quiet enough...I either have a box fan on all day or my ear buds in all day. I even have to sleep with earbuds in so no one wakes me up :P But this made me feel better that I'm not alone lol
Ya'll have lame experiences. I have experienced loud se- X neighbors. Dead bodies from shootings. Maintenance that comes in to look thru your panty drawers

My husband and I are seniors that live on our small retirement income . Every single day for the last six years there has been no such thing as quiet for us. Day in and day out we hear loud music, people that party and scream at their small children with what we consider emotional abuse. The weekends are even worse . I live with a chronic liver disease and deal with fatigue daily. My husband has health problems of his own. Every day the police make their way to our apartment complex to arrest some one here . The swat team has surrounded buildings here. There was a murder here screaming , yelling , drama , fighting at all hours of the day.....FINALLY WE ARE ON A LIST TO LIVE IN ALL SENIOR NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE ITS QUIET , WHERE THE POLICE HAVE NEVER HAD TO GO THERE FOR ANY REASON. ITS CLOSE TO DOWN TOWN WHERE ALL THE STORES AND DINERS ARE AND CAFES OFFERING DAILY SENIOR DISCOUNTS. In just six months we get to leave hell and move to a very quiet neighborhood where the managers live on sight, no one parties and no kids allowed . I love kids but am more than ready to have them some place else where they are not running wild all over unattended by their parents.... that are parting at home as loud as they can. I woke up at 4 am a month ago weeping from sleep deprivation as my health was going more and more down hill because quiet where I live is a non existent situation where I live. My night mare is almost over if I can survive six more months of hell in this ghetto . I asked all the neighbors in the new senior neighborhood we are moving to if they liked it there ....not one of them said they didn’t like it and all of them said it’s quiet here. ,7
I'm just on a spree of reading and watching rants about noisy and horrible apartments! I'm currently listening to and smelling the mowers that go for hours every Wednesday all summer.
You have a right to live without being harassed. You seem like a good person...next time it bugs you just get out and take a walk. Never ask neighbor to be quiet or else if cops are called you are candidate number 1.
John Min It’s very unfortunate that management lets these things go on . When my mother and I managed apartments years ago we knew that neighbors would harass any one that complained about unreasonable noise. So in order to protect people from harassment we took care of things ourselves . We never revealed who was complaining about the noise. We would go to the home of the person complaining about the noise....and we would go disguised then hear for ourselves some of the most unreasonable noise. We would leave unknown to the neighbors who we were , wait a few weeks , then send an eviction notice with what we recorded. They never took us to court knowing it was my mother and I that would make their lives unpleasant and not the other way around. My mom earned the reputation of the most bad ass manager in this town....but descent people loved her for it. Mom won manager of the year one year in our town. She deserved it. She went out of her way to help good people and also went out of her way to expel trouble makers from all the units she managed and her diligence created some of the most quiet apartments in our town.
I live in a condo and have almost all the same issues. I boil it down by saying there is no privacy at all in condos and looks like same thing for apartments. Really sucks!
I want to get out however the renting is a crisis. People are so disrespectful. They don't know how to adjust living around others. Complain to the landlord or management. If that doesn't help move out. Sometimes you can leave a note about noise with the tenant but some people just don't care.
I just feel people need to be considerate living close together. Some noise needs to be allowed, but a good remedy is a white noise machine or buy some noise cancelling headphones by Bose. Great video though.
Well, a lot of these places have ZERO soundproofing whatsoever, so white noise and fans, and things will not help much. At least, in my experience. Running my AC in wall does drown out a lot of noise, outside or otherwise, at night at least. My place is usually quiet as hell at night, anyway. Cause everyone that lives here IS A TOTAL DEDHEAD ASSHOLE. No personality, no life, no music, no nothing. Maybe it's just as well, though. Headphones will help but they won't if you're trying to go to sleep at night and keep getting loud noise.
John Min I am a musician .... but I never do that here in my apartment because I refuse to upset the peace and quiet of others.....however I am an exception to what most people do here in the way of noise. I always ask myself this question ....if it would annoy me.... should I do it to some one else. The answer is no.
I came across your video by searching "living in an apartment". I decided to search that because I'm making my own video about that. But I can relate to a lot of things you mentioned. I can't relate to the music thing. Because I'm not allowed to listen to music or my neighbor will call the cops. I hate being threatened with cops.
I've been in my current apt. for 5 years, and now it's gotten so bad with assholes complaining, or at least, one person in particular about my music or whatever, at times, (I had no complaints for the previous four years!) that I was threatened by my landlord fucking manager asshole dickwad, or nearly, and I told them that well, there's zero soundproofing in this place, etc., and I have guitars, etc., and now I cannot do anything at all. Esp. at night, at least. So now I'm going to be moving out to a rental house if possible, by year's end, because it's ruining my own sanity and health. My lease is up in November, I'm fucking out of here. I've never had the cops called on me, for anything, but I don't need that shit, and nobody does. As it is, the vacant unit opposite me on the other side of my bldg. has now been re-rented to some guy that moved in with NO WARNING this past Sunday afternoon. So back to square one. Units right on top of each other with a shared wall, and no fucking soundproofing. What a bunch of bullshit. I have to sit here all night or evening from 8-1 a.m. and use high end headphones, portable players, my PC, and unplug my pro. monitor speakers. It's a living hell.
This video really made me feel better. I go through the same things you do. All my friends live in larger houses other than me. We live around a pretty expensive area so this is all we could afford. I can’t move because my parents are divorced. Living with my dad in an apartment is the worst because as a woman, it’s embarrassing sometimes to have little space for alone time. Every day I wish for a bigger house and I can’t get over the fact that it’s not going to happen soon. The first thing I would want to change in my life, is to get a larger house. It would mean the world for me to live with space. 😣
I hate apartment living but if you get a house, get one with some land around it or it can be equally noisy and have terrible neighbors. I have lived in five houses and had issues at three of them.
2:15 you said "my downstairs neighbor got home" your lucky that your neighbor leaves the apt lol my upstairs and downstairs neighbors are both able to stay home 24/7...
