Mouldy furniture makeover, thrift flip, Love heart stool DIY

- I am tackling a mouldy piece of furniture and flipping it into a love heart stool for my niece. This old piece of furniture had really bad mould that needed to be treated. I then cut the legs down to transform it into a stool. I then gave it a paint job and applied some Satin finish paint in a pinky/coral colour to give it a girly makeover.
Most people would have thrown this table away but I decided to give it a thrift flip and transform it into something new and transform trash to treasure.

I love your diy's!! You are Very BLEST with talent & a very sharp brain!😀 There's a saying..."No grass growing on her head" (I may have gotten that wrong - I usually do!😄) but what I mean is.. Marrying pieces together for a whole new look and use, is something I have done, long before it was in vogue. Even chopping bits of furniture up, coming up with a new design, has filled my house with interest, Like you, none of the left over pieces lay around for long, as my mind is always working towards still another project. Paint unifies everything, so different types of wood is never an issue, the shape and sturdiness is all I ever consider. I've used so much Navajo White, when I go to purchase more, the paint man never looks up the formula anymore. LOL Love following you, you're such a dolly.

This is so cute! I would've gone running for the hills when I saw that mold 😆 but you were a sweetheart & thought of your niece.
I didn't realize that shellac paint sealed things like that, how interesting! There's a product in the U.S. called Kilz that has a similar effect but maybe it's a U.S. thing.
I'm semi-crazy about the content of cleaning products too though I don't have a pet anymore.
I hadn't really heard of curing time either so that's great to know. 🤯 TFS!

It's lovely! I was hoping, though, that you would show us how you fixed the wobbly leg with the undone bolt left behind in the stool.

It's beautiful!! Lovely DIY as always. Your confident use of power tools really inspires me! I agree with you about the chemicals...I have two house rabbits and I use neat lemon juice to clean their litter trays and environment. It's amazing as it dissolves urine stains on contact and is not harmful if it gets on their paws. My friend uses it for her cat's litter trays now. 😃

Hi Catherine, just watching some of your TH-cam videos for inspiration and advice about upcycling a small wood cabinet this weekend. Im hoping to paint the main body but leave the top of it as wood, can you recommend a wood sealer that would leave a natural look, not really a gloss finish if you get me?! Also what grade of sand paper would you recommend, i will be sanding it by hand, to use before painting? Thanks in advance from a nervous first timer 😊
